    The chance of setting someone on fire depends on where the canons hit, for example other canons or the magazine. I don't know the percentage to set on fire if you hit mag or canon, but if you only hit hull, it's 0%.

    I just stared up the game, and left port. I have 0-1 frames, even though I haven't done anything that could cause this. It was just fine yesterday... :/ So.. this is what they call Hell.

    Remember that AI always cheats. ;P They use manual sailing to better turn and knows where to sail relative to the wind to speed up.

    The British are trying a new strategy.. They camouflage themselves as flamingos, so they won't attract attention while they sail against the Danes. This will surely get them an advantage over the Danes!

    Ahoy, sit and have a grog! Someone who have got their hands on an Essex? How is it compared to the Trinc? It has not been long since she was launched, but there has been little talk of her?

    It seems like you are up to many knots in your Trinc, and with all hands set to sailing.

    Or maybe the French, as they so often do, ran once tagged and in battle, with their tail (or baguette) between their legs, until the British could no longer bother to reach them?

    Then I would rather recommend to wait to buy a new outpost, and rather grind or trade until you have sufficient funds. If you think this should be changed, I would recommend posting a proposal on the suggestions page. I think however devs have been clear that only xp shall be shared between characters, and so it will remain.

    Your xp and crafting xp is saved over evey character, whatever nation, if you delete a character. On the other hand, you lose all gold, ships, etc. This is what is intended. This may, as you said, cause problems when you are fighting against higher missions. I would recommend that you play with your friends, so they can help you in your missions, and make them help you capture a boat that is closer to your rank, as you already now have the rank to use it.     It may be profitable to continue to fight against them, giving more xp? Nevertheless, it's a god idea. It's also more realistic than the captain fighting to the last man or to the boat goes down. He would try to save his crew.

    Davy Jones has claimed his souls, and dragged 'em down to the deep. No sailor is safe, when he summons the Kraken (server crash).
