Having heard of another PB, where a major clan left the battle field before any bullet was fired, I was questioning the Port battle system. It has been a major annoyence to me and others to enter a PB and see a few (mostly casuals though) run off the battlefield if things get "tight". PB are time consuming and if I have the time and desire (and not being in a major clan...I need to get called and get a spot), I don´t see the point to quit before I need to surrender. 1. I am talking of my experience on Deep water PBs and shallow water PBs. 2. The Pbs are a different story, if you enter as a "we all know each other 25-group" or a bunch of 25 players, who just happen to be there. So, I had the idea "What if a defender / attacker could commit the PB participants to fight till the end (till surrender or captured or sunk). So, anyone entering the Port knows beforehand, "If I do that, there is no way out, we either win it and I survive or I loose 1 dura. (which is nothing in my opinion). There is no escape button in PBs. I don´t know how this can be implemented, but I´d love this feature. Like, the "Lord protector" or the "Flag carrier" announces "we fight for this port until death". Any comments on this? It certainly would prevent casuals to get in there, moreover, get informed about TS and what is going on in the PB before just hopping into it. (and it´d certainly would prevent the Sorry-clan to run off the battlefield, because they did not like the scenario... sorry, I could not resist mentioning it...)

Who are you talking of? Me? There has been pictures posted ? Do you see my name in there? No. Below, I posted I was not part of the Port battle. It is pretty clear that PBs should be run by the biggest clans, organization, time numbers and TS matters. Easy to understand. No one is questioning it. I am raising my voive on behalf of casuals who entered the Port Battle. Any good organized clan announces clear messages to the community how the PB should be fought and who is allowed to enter. This is widely accepted by the community. What ships to take, TS obligatory. But to enter a PB as a clan and to leave ASAP is a no go! >>Now people are wondering why SORRY would sabotage a port defense. I can only suspect that it is his strategy. Like, follow me, join SORRY, or you are doomed. Problem is, many players leave, and any community needs also unorganized players, traders who provide goods to the market, screen. Everybody plays a certain role and is of value. Furthermore, with this behaviour you gain reputation. Who is going to fill the ranks in a PB run by the Sorry-clan ? Will those 16 guys turn up next time, I doubt it.

You don´t see the point right? You say no TS = no FLEET. There were not enough in TS, still you enter a PB and then realize "Oh, there are not enough in TS ! We better leave..." With this behaviour, you fooled all other 16 guys, who where trapped in the battle and bound to loose. And then you come and say..."Hahah, we told you, you can never win a PB without TS ! We have quality standards and you don´t" Is this your logic ??? I was not part of the PB, but I felt with all the other guys who have been left. What do you loose? 1 dura? And you ran off a 25 vs. 25 battle? And you pissed of 16 being left and others outside who wanted to participate. Is this your QUALITY standard? Enter a PB and leave ASAP!??? What quality are you talking of? And you still think this is the right decision? We all make mistakes, and for sure this was a bad mistake. But, if you still think this was by any standards right? Well then, it is futile and further discussions unnessesary.

Has been a big story in the nation chat. The SORRY players let all other players down and ran off. Main argument: All the others were not in the coalition Team Speak. You could also argue, "you were not in our clan, so who cares?" The SORRY clans need to decide when to enter Port Battles. There were many many others being out there willing to enter the PB without TS. Entering a PB and then running off ASAP is no good strategy, whatever way you look at it !. SHAME SHAME !

That´s not the point. I have no issue with Lord Vicious or the most of the others Sorry payers, as long as they don´t attack me, I am fine. It´s this guy bountyhunter permanently harrassing me inchat or ingame. I guess, you get this in any game, in any nation. I will not give-in to this guy. Instead a joined a clan called "Sic semper evello mortem tyrannis" ("Thus always I bring death to tyrants"). That´s the reason I play pirates. It was more fun than 2 empty, but WON Port Battles we had before. I enjoyed my time, teaming up "casual player" and giving them a chance to participate and explaining how things work. We played it "the pirate" way. HIGHLY DISORGANIZED, CHAOTIC, UNSUCCESFUL at capping a PORT, but enjoying ourselves and sinking Dutch enemies. SO? They are so pathetic, they accuse many/many other clan-less and unknown fellow-pirates for "spying". Maybe, they just cannot imagine that some players play for fun/entertainment only, and don´t worry about winning or loosing and don´t care about "exploiting" the machine to their advantage. If you play by the rules and are not on TS, you are a spy and on the KOS (kill on sight)-list of the Sorry-clan. Those guys certainly need to boost up their "ego" by hunting pirate traders and be "vicious". 4 warships tagging me on a trader four consecutive times and did not sink me, how about that? I like this picture. As a pirate from the beginning, I started hating the SORRY clan from yesterday. They have been accusing me for "spying" since month (maybe they accuse me for spying even if I am offline), which I surely have never done. You get insulted and harrased on the Nation chat by their members. They claim to play for the "pirate" nation and not to attack other pirates, but seem to have a hug list of KOS (kill of sight). Yesterday I got "tagged" by a fleet of 4-5 Sorry members trading on my indiaman 3 (or was it 4) in a row. They made my day, I refused to give in to them, and had a sleepless night. Those guys do not only destroy the pirate nation, but also kill off the player base. It is no fun being tagged by Swedish, US, GB, Dutch and then comes Mr. "bountyhunter" and the SORRY-clan, and they shout at you "KOS", you are a SPY or "fuck off" the nation chat, you are a spy! Even talking to those guys, never led to any solution.... Why are they wondering, that all NON-Sorry-player are fishing in the GREEN zone? Because, we all wait until those guys quit the game... Once I chatted to Lord Vicious "you act like Mussolini, as you are Italian" and he replied, "no, even better, I am Hitler". No more comments from my side. Waste of life time.

Sure. But tell me one thing then ? Why are the so-called "hardcores" are crying all the time about dropping numbers and no-one (pirates) is going to defend the Ports ? The requirements to attend PBs and play according to their rules are so strict, the casuals are put off. Okay, accepted. PBs for the I-am-online-every-day-gamer. BUYING A FLAG was strongly opposed by the big clans, you "should do it" only with talking to clan leaders first and so on... I got black-listed, called a spy, and it took me weeks KOTO took me off a pirates-blacklist.... The point fox2run was also pointing to was: Some people want to "dictate" the game, be leader of 100 + players....lord protector and so on. And by applying brutal force (can be done at Pirates ingame) or "toxic" rant in TS or ingame chat, many players are put off. Many leave. Personally, I believe, listening to many of so called clan leaders..., it made me remind of small "Hitler´s" or maybe better in today terms,...some ERDOGAN´S are out there.... PBs are not designed to be for all. Take it as it is. Succesful PB runs can only be done with a degree of organization, time management, planning and, of course TS3. If you are not willing to invest into this sort of gaming, PBs are nothing for you...

Don´t be so hard on fox2 run. He made a statement, but fell short advocating a solution. As TS3 is and cannot be "regulated" by the Devs, you are "open" to any toxic behaviour there. As TS3 is a necessary requirement for any so called "competetive" clan (no PB would be won without), there are only 2 choices for any player: 1. you want to take part in RvR ? = clan essential = follow their rules = toxic actions possible 2. no RvR and no PB ? = you are free to play PvP or PvE = no TS3 = controlled environment So, either way you put it. It is not very likely to get a player-friendly controlled environment at a clan trying to "win the map". You cannot get everything. Don´t expect any participation in PB. You are not welcome as a casual, you are susceptible of "spying". So, no one can solve this issue by "regulating" it. As a pirate, it provides the perfect environment for a non-RvR play-style --------------- 8) I started a new clan for more relaxed players without diplomacy at all - but from time to other get bashed by the leading clans and their members for "destroying the nation" or "not doing the common best" or "you should be a priate" or "you are not in the right nation" etc... 9) I now play more silence and without TS - my clan is growing wth players who has similar experiences as me. ... ---------------- What clan are you in ?
