  1. Enough capitalism for you? Joke is on SirWebster and his ridiculously underpriced Frigate..... Zayel is a very generous customer
  2. --- Pricing Change Announcement --- In order to compensate for the NPC port prices and the resource drain associated with them, we have decided to raise the prices for resources to those prices offered by NPC consumption ports. This will make sure that resources are kept "in house". The only exception is Stone Block which shall stay at European Trader price for now. Documents changed accordingly. Hugo
  3. What is that "earth curvature" you speak off? It sounds like madness! No! Blasphemy! Yes, Blasphemy! Next thing you tell us is that there is land beyond the edge of the disk that Earth is made of .... Oh wait, watched too many episodes of Vikings today..... While I agree with the idea, fixing the draw distance (pop-in effect of sails) and make other ships fade into view more gradually again is a more important step in optimising graphics in open world at this point. But we can never ask for enough improvements to our shiny toy, can we?
Keep calm and drink more tea.
  6. --- Pricing Change Announcement --- Prices for Stone Block increased to 33 (European Trader Price 31 + 5% buy contract tax) because of inefficiency of Stone quarry building. Price for Ballast increased to 75 as a result. Hugo Edit: forgot about the 5% tax on top of European Trader price - fixed
  7. We will see what the general attitude towards this topic is in a couple days, now that AI traders seem to be pretty much extinct I get it that a delivery system would help in setting up fleets for war, but haven't people been complaining already about how difficult and time-wasty it is to find good PvP already? Why make even setting up for PvP a time grind? I am still voting "yes" - ship deliveries could be very time consuming (real life time) or prohibitively expensive (gold sink). That would be fine by me, just give people the option.
  8. ----- RECALL ----- To whomever it may concern, Hugo Republic Shipyards are recalling all 4th and 3rd Rate vessels made from Teak wood and delivered between February 1713 - April 1716. There seems to be an issue with cheap Caracas Fir being relabeled as fine Pampatar Teak in several warships, leading to disastrous leaks in combat with great loss of equipment and life. We are looking into this matter and trust me - heads are going to roll for this... Until then, sail carefully and contact your local HRS office for a "Hot Fix" (e.g. free tar coating of outer Fir wood planking of affected ships). Sincerely Yours, Hugo van Grojt Proprietor of Hugo Republic Shipyards
  9. To whom it may concern, following the recent changes brought by Patch 9.7, the board of directors of Hugo Republic Shipyards has univocally decided to change the company policy on pricing as follows. All ship crafters working for the glory of the United Provinces are hereby invited to participate in and make use of the business model. Licensed ship crafters and component manufacturers will be listed here, if their ingame application is approved by the Willemstad Crafters Guild. The new attractive pricing model is intended to provide an additional incentive for citizens to contribute to the national ship building effort. 1. Terms of Procurement Hugo Republic Shipyards (HRS) hereby offers to purchase any resources (if needed) for the same buying price that is currently offered by the NPC at all consumption ports in the United Provinces. Hugo Republic Shipyards (HRS) hereby offers to pay the salary of 50 Gold per labour hour to any dock worker or manufacturing shop. Hugo Republic Shipyards (HRS) stipulates the following fixed prices for the procurement and sale of low, mid and high grade crafting notes : 20.000 Gold for each low grade note 40.000 Gold for each mid grade note 80.000 Gold for each high grade note The resulting prices at which Hugo Republic Shipyards will buy and sell any ship components can be found in this nifty COMPONENT TRADING CALCULATOR (offline copies possible) 2. Terms of Sale Based on the guaranteed prices for ship components, HRS and licensed shipwrights approved by the Willemstad Crafters Guild will guarantee the selling prices for ships as can be found in the DUTCH SHIP PRICING SPREADSHEET The new ship prices will take effect on the day of our Lord, April the 20th, 1716. The profit margin for any HRS ship sales shall be 50 Gold for every labour hour invested in the crafting of a vessel, but shall be roughly equivalent to 10 percent of the crafted ship's total value. The remaining 90 percent of the ship cost account for salaries graciously paid to those supportive component manufacturers that make our enterprise successful. As such, every Dutch citizen is encouraged to manufacture ship components and sell those to the licensed crafters at the guaranteed prices. 3. Ship Orders Any interested Party is invited to apply for a crafting slot for any shiptype at the Willemstad Docks using this APPLICATION FORM (courtesy of Konali). 4. Licensed Ship Crafters and Component Manufacturers (in alphabetical order by last name) coolkiller, Lord Commodore, Arctic Nova, Odin87NL, Lytse Pier, Surathani, Jester Tull, Max van der Velde, Hugo van Grojt These terms and conditions shall be subject to change if the economic situation in the Greater Caribbean or the United Provinces should change. The corresponding documents shall be updated accordingly. Sincerely Yours, Hugo van Grojt Proprietor of Hugo Republic Shipyards
  10. The only potential problem I see with the recent changes is that gankers will start whining (I expect A LOT) about counter-tagging to prevent the ganking group from being in the battle circle to begin with - thus turning ganks into manageable fights for the potential victim. I, personally, have no problem with this as I am usually on the receiving end of pirate ganking parties. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the coming days/weeks. Cheers, Hugo
  11. Exactly, no more Constitution ganking groups, which is fine. 6 People can still enjoy jumping a single 3rd rate - they just need to make a smarter choice in ship types.
  12. There has been no argument to counter our accusations by the [bW] clan. Could you please inform the public on when we can expect a ruling on this matter? Thank you, Hugo van Grojt
  13. To whomever it may concern, today a small Dutch fleet attacked some pirates raiding near our capital Willemstad. 1. While escaping, the pirates tagged each other and started a battle in which the Dutch fleet could only join one side - effectively rendering one pirate immune. 2. During the battle, the pirate on the "Dutch side" attempted actively to block the pursuit of the remaining fleet and actively shot Dutch ships with chain shot to slow them down. He continued to do so even after being warned in battle chat. Accused Player: Zlywujek Accused Clan: [bW] Screenshot of the start of the battle: http://prntscr.com/apwsug Battle log with friendly hits by Zlywujek http://prntscr.com/apwtfr Battle log with more friendly hits by Zlywujek http://prntscr.com/apwu1q More battle log screenshots available on demand, F11 Report filed during battle. Konali89 was presend and witness to the fight and encouraged me to open this case in tribunal. All other players on the Dutch side can attest to what happened and the F11 report filed by me should provide further proof. Since we consider both the tagging of fellow pirate players to avoid battle and the shooting of "friendly" sails in battle to be unsportsmanlike conduct at the very least, we demand action against the accused player and hereby bring forth this case to the tribunal. Thank you very much, Hugo van Grojt
  14. Thanks for the nice fight outside Guastavia, DRUNKs! Before: http://prntscr.com/ap0z73 After: http://prntscr.com/ap0zwf
  15. You are misinterpreting what "Tour de France" means, young padawan....
  16. SWEDEN being in that list .... go figure #conspiracyconfirmed
  17. Something better will come to replace it, I have faith.
  18. And while we're at it, Monkey, I STILL have not received an answer from DrunkenSloth He better hurry, before this section of the forums gets closed, though
  19. Bounty hunters contact me for up to date info on the whereabouts of the treacherous merchant captain Pietjenoob P.S. Bounty in list needs to be raised to 150.000 as Nash also chipped in. Best spot to start your hunt from is Coquibacoa (or possibly La Orchila)
  20. I would even volunteer to be a RP-premodding moderator
  21. Yes, Hethwil, myself and some others had community events based on roleplay planned (admin will get mail on this later) - can we has a forum section for strictly roleplay/community events please? Possibly with VERY hard moderation?
  22. You did not answer the question, sir Will you abstain of posting in other national news threads (given my strong impression that yo do not give a rat's ass about national diplomacy in the first place)? If so, I shall gladly let you have this little kindergarden thread here to do with as you please. Looking forward to your answer.
  23. Is this going to be a mutual agreement between you and the rest of the community? If so, I will be happy to oblige.
