  1. Oké. I don't attack human Danish ships any more. Was only attacking the larger ones being too strong te beat, also to put pressure on the diplomats. But I wil continue the merciless hunt on cTpaHHUK.
  2. Nice newspaper, one minor issue, the date February 15, 1786 was in real on a Wednesday.
  3. Lol.. there was also gunboat diplomacy against the Danes, performed by a Dutch flotille based at Vieques, this shall be continued today. The reason for the hostile actions against the so named allied Danes is the attack on the United Provinces trader snow "Innocence Virgin" in the port entrance of freetown Vieques by a Danish Constitution fregat under command of cpt. cTpaHHUk. The Dutch trader snow under command of cpt. Swieb (pronounced as Sweep) was there looking for trading possibilities with the Danes, especially to sell Batavian spieces and buying Danish beer. Sadly it was not possible to place a buy contract for Danish Tuborg beer in Vieques, but luckly, some oak logs, in very short supply in the Dutch Caribbean, were available for a reasonable price. After finishing the trade and leaving the port, already preparing to teleport to Willemstad the heavy armed Danish warship attacked the Dutch trader.Repeted requests send to the Danish agressor, asking to respect the informal Dutch-Danish no agression agreement, was with no result. Without returning the fire the Dutch tradersnow was destroyed and its the legal bought load of oak logs robbed.
  4. "Wat nu.. zei Pietje Gru, kan niet verdomme zei Bernadotte", maining "what now.. Pierre Gru said, don't care a damn of it, Bernadotte said". Its a Dutch saying for when people are placed in a unpleasant situation and thinking how to react. This saying goes back to the winter of 1794-1795. Due the very harsh winter conditions the major Dutch rivers became frosen. That situation was used by a French army, lead by Pichegru being supported by so named Dutch patriots the anti Orangists party, to destroy the Republic of the United Provinces from the south. The other guy, Jean Bernadotte was French by birth and served a long carrier in the French army. Finally he was appointed as a marshal of France by Napoleon. May-be this explains somewhat of the subborn Swedish loyalty to the French we have seen in the game so far Bernadotte is an opportunist. What now.. Pierre Gru said, after Paritu was retaken by the Dutch fleet under command of captain Bubbles. Don't care a damn of our Franco-Dutch war. I don't serve the Dutch Orange party, nor the pro French Dutch Patriots or the Danes. Finally I will also not support the French, Bernadotte said. One day I shall be king of Sweden! Bernadotte's egocentric behaviour, his influence in the Swedish Caribbean too, to get the maximum out of everything for himself, explains may-be the remarkable pro French attitude of Sweden so far. Mainwhile is the situation for the United Provinces hopeless, better said.. the old famous Dutch republic don't exist anymore in the European part of our nation. Some weeks ago on January 19th, 1795 the new Batavian Republic was proclaimed, being a puppet state for the French. Is every thing lost? Here in the Caribbean the war against the French and the treators of the Patriot party shall continue. The remains of our proud Republic of the United provinces still exist here. One day, after we have destroyed the French and the Swedes here, we shall sail to our good old home nation, to kick out the French there too. Long live our prince and our Orangist party, Oranje boven! Picture: 15 January 1795 the French army is crossing the frosen Lek river on their way to Utrecht.
  5. So, for finding the most logical in game date for today we need, based on real history, to compromise somewhat. The fact that the French tricolore, being in use in the game, was adopted on February 15th, 1794 (today its in real 15 february too) and the fact that the Dutch Republic in Europe was replaced on January 19th, 1795 by the Batavian Republic, being a French puppet state, and that here in our game world the Dutch of the United Provinces are in full war against the French, role playing to protect there old famous republic, February 15th, 1795 is for me the most logical compromise regarding in game date for today. The Batavian Republic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batavian_Republic
  6. Regarding the French flag, the royal French government used many flags, the best known being a blue shield and gold fleur-de-lis tricol. Regarding the first French tricolore its flag's colours were reversed, thus three vertical bands coloured red (hoist side), white and blue. The flag was in use by the short lived French kingdom 1791-1792 and by the first French republic untill 1794. The modified design by Jacques-Louis David being in the game and in real today in use as the French tricolore was adopted in 1794. See also: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_France
  7. Yes... I know, We have seen recently also your famous capital ship "Charles de Gaulle" sailing to the Swedish waters
  8. Of course there is a hidden US-French alliance. The migration of the New Orleans Frenchies to the Dutch-Caribbean eastern frontier, and the same the US did with the Spanish to send them to our western frontier to bring us in huge troubles, was a fake war to mislead the Dutch about the real US intentions. Using the chaos we have now in our European homeland, where less then a month ago on Januari 19th, 1795 the Batavian Republic as being a French puppet state was proclaimed. But we, here in our Caribbean region, shall defend our old famous confederation of the United Seven Provinces to the last men and ship we have. And if we have not longer the balls to shoot with, we shall use our Dutch courage to hit the enemy with our empty beer and jenever bottles. Finally we shall liberate our European homeland, and of course, we shall lower your new proud 15 star and stripes flag I have seen waving from your ships recently, in New Amsterdam too.
  9. Nice now we have also a Russian newspaper I have one question in general regarding all role playing articles. I see that many years are used in the newspapers, ranging from anno 1702 up to 1917. In what game year do we live? Most likely for me it is later than 1776, because the United States exist in the game as an independed nation but not later than 1795, marking the end of the Dutch Republic of the United Provinces. I think the correct year is 1795.. the US ships have the 15 star flag (the US flag between July 4th, 1795 and July 4th,1818. One problem.. the Dutch Republic of the United Provinces came to an end at January 19th 1795 when the Batavian Republic (being a French client state) was proclaimed.
  10. It looks there is no Franko - British alliance. It looks to me that we have in the game a still hidden US-French alliance that will be finally directed against the British after the Dutch and the Swedish are destroyed by the French. The Danes have reasons to fear the British then. That Scandinavian war is especially serving the US- French agenda, and it looks that the Swedish are expecting to maintain themselves as a French protectorate. I think it is much more likely that Sweden shall be stabbed by the French after the Dutch fraction is destroyed. That will happen relative soon now the French took control of the line La Orchilla - Paritu to take as soon as possible all Dutch ports east of the line La Orchilla - Caracas. Finally in reaction of IronClaw, blaming the Pruisians to run away.. the nearby Dutch ships were run away (showing their Dutch courage) when I (sailing in a snow) was attacted by 12 French players in front of freetown Cano Macareo.. luckly for me four Pruisian ships sailed out to help me with much succes. Again, thanks for that support!
  11. It would be helpfull if (regarding all the nation news messages) that in the topic title the specific PvP server is mentioned were the news event took place. May-be it is even a better idea, that we have for each PvP server here at the forum its own national news subforum?
  12. National Naval Register, a great American newspaper, being a pleasure to read. It seems it is also free for the Dutch public here at Willemstad
  13. Game developers, please make it so that in the game mechanics the indicators regarding admiral missions battles are not visible to other players, except for team mates. These missions are training missions aren't they? The possibility to gain XP points and money. And please, release a brief basic manual as soon as possible were in the most important game features are explained to avoid this kind of misunderstandings and anger between good willing players.
  14. Grrrr, another grumbling Dutch. But you made a nice video of capturing the island Saba, in real today with Mount Scenery the highest point of the Netherlands proper
  15. Hi, last weekend I bought the game, play for the Dutch faction and like to join a nice clan. Now we have the second European PvP server available (PvP 3) I like to make a choice for the best option. Stay at PvP 1 and request DAS there for clan membership, or moving to PvP 3 to counteract the huge influx on PvP 1 somewhat? What are DAS plans regarding PvP 3?
  16. Lol. The Duinkerker kapers (the Dunkirk privateers) served during the 80 years war between the Dutch and the Spanish the Spanish king, so they were hostile to the Dutch navy. Now they are serving the Dutch! The most famous Duinkerker privateer was Jean Bart, first serving the Dutch navy under Michel de Ruyter, but he turned against the Dutch in 1672 as privateer for the French. Its good to know who finally your enemy is
  17. Woukd be nice if the ensigns and banners, seen on our ships during a battle, are not random set. That players have the option to choice what for combination of banners and ensigns they have for their own ships.. as relative unique visible personal indentification signs for friend and foe.
