  1. What's wrong with staying in duel room if it's possible? Sometimes people don't have time to put up with nature of OS and all the shenanigans it includes and just want to have their fight and call it a day. In theory it should increase player skill level in fights if anything since it's a platform for those who want to practice or have carefree fun. This loss free / gain nothing skirmish room was available in potbs and it was quite unpopular and didn't take many players out of OS yet it was good tool for practicing and having arranged fights on the go with minimum time sink.
  2. Try some self control and don't go to NN forum to read things that hurt you? Think about that for a second, noone forces you to go there. You can always report posts that you feel are out of line to mods as well.
  3. National news forum was originally suggested to serve as a ''containment'' board for all those who can't control themselves and have to bring their baggage to forums. If you close it then the toxicity will not magically disappear, it will spill over to game development discussions and start shitting up important topics...
  4. I don't see a word about pirate mechanic rework so why do you get your hopes up? Pirate role means that pirates don't have to put up with peace alliances forced upon them by their fellow nation mates, therefore they will remain the nation with most available pvp targets. Which will ironically make the pirate nation even bigger than it already is on pvp1.
  5. But what is the problem? Achieve Bellona kill with your Frigate, hunt 50 players solo without dying and then brag about it to friends how awesome you are, achieve map dominance with your mates and become the pixel king that defeated everyone else. Go out into open world sandbox and create your own achievements with the tools the game provides but no, it seems most people don't know what to do with all that freedom and prefer skyrimesque arrows pointing them at directions and missions and then complain that there is a lack of their specific perfect blend of things to achieve since everyone has their own version of what achievement is supposed to be.
  6. That's not the point of the statement and I think even currently it's too long and not accessible to many but that is another topic. It's just an example how this company is not afraid to say ''no'' and not trying to please everyone at the same time for some utopian balance between the types and is not concerned with losing some potential customers.

I already said in my post I am not here to kill some achievers or explorers or pve'rs, contrary to what your cute youtube carebear theorycrafting video is trying to make you believe, I am here to kill other killers. Killing pvers is a side thing when there are no other killers around and this is certainly not the main goal of pvpers nor is getting into a fight forced by pvper the main goal of pve player...When pve player joins pvp server why should he expect Peace & Love? Noone forced them to join pvp when there exists PvE server.This game was never aiming to appeal to masses and all 4 groups to make some perfect harmony mmo. This is a small team working on a niche product and you want to divide their attention to chase 4 rabbits and catching none? Read some older posts to get perspective: I would rather worry how to link this achiever and other types to RvR instead of trying to develop seperate content for them in current time. Like Ron Swanson said, don't half ass two things, whole-ass one thing. And be honest, do you really enjoy killing someone who doesn't even fight back at you instead of someone like yourself who has the same goals? It kind of get's old I think after a while.
  8. Well let's be honest - these 80% players picked wrong server in this case. I don't go to PvE server and start demanding some hybrid PvPvE because they should also think about me and my pvp... You know pve and pvp people don't mix well and you seperated servers which is good step. Do you really want to make them mix in PvP server? Long term consequences of AI fleets and PvE grinding on PvP server - Even the best pvp players are grinding their ranks and gear via pve because it's the most efficient way. Those who hate pvp and still for some reason play on pvp server are allowed to get everything without ever doing ANY PvP to progress or reach their favourite ships = very low average player skill level. You maybe think running down these players who don't want to pvp is fun but in reality it is no different from farming bots, we want someone who wants to and is willing to fight back and give us good fights, not bashing someone who never did any pvp because he didn't have to or want to. Someone who even if he doesn't like fighting, can contribute to RvR through logistics, trading or economy, not just level up while completely disconnected and isolated from pvp and rvr and then start demanding more PvE once he runs out of content on PvP server. TL;DR Give players on PvP server more reasons to actively take part in RvR and seek PvP instead of worrying about PvE players on said server being unhappy.

Overhaul of War & Peace mechanics and national relations, pirate role and national alliances (455 votes [54.30%]) Would like more information about this because I don't see how this formal alliances forced by game mechanics/votes will solve anything. Does pirate role in this means rework of pirate mechanics or just stating that pirates will get even more population boom because pvpers from nations don't want to be tied down by carebear peace alliances? Interesting but not surprising to see majority vote for diplomacy while the actual reasons that could potentially drive RvR conquest and diplomacy are neglected. (Overhaul of resource distribution, labor hours rework, crafting improvements, exploration for resources (42 votes [5.01%])
  10. Disable not because farming reasons but because same reasons you disabled personal AI fleets, it's just annoying artificial handhold feature. When soloing, noone was saved from calling AI reinforcement, when going out with group, people wait until all attackers are in the instance, press call reinforcements to get copy of attacker fleet and THEN call in their player reinforcements that can even outnumber the original attackers = another potential small pvp fleet fight turned into a notfight aka The Great Chase.
  11. Everybody pissed off about pirates what did you vote for when they prioritized development? There's not even an ecosystem for historical pirates to have a role in right now since most traders are teleporting their goods or sending them through deliveries and if you got hanged upon capture (permadeath) how many would try their hand in it besides me? Since it is open development and community voting based prioritization then we maybe get pirates after developers are done with adding spyglasses and beautiful dolphins and other immersion elements on OW that seem to be more important and popular demands.
  12. I had an amusing experience with this today in a high traffic place, far from port. Enemy Bellona was sitting with sails cut and teleported/logged out just before I got a tag on him and suddenly a wild Surprise appeared out of nowhere coming my way a minute later so I observed him and he didn't change his course from me for a minute or two. I cancelled getting wind on him, kept my distance instead because he was danger close and scanned all the horizon around like three times because it looked highly suspicious that a single surprise is being so agressive and then a Trincomalee popped right behind him with invulnerability and it was clear ambush from result screen. Clever try but sloppy execution so I give these weasels 3 points for style out of 10 but I can totally see how this would work against newer players, not sure if it's worth the time but it's obviously happening. After this incident I had a hour long battle and I had to use result screen to go afk so I don't see how you would remove this feature for players who just have to go afk after long battle.

Pirate vs Pirate joining mechanic has been broken for more than a month(s) by now and it kind of sums up the image of pirates being friendly bunch of peace loving nation builders until this point that nobody hasn't even noticed it until the flood gates got opened. Question is: will pirate green on green damage be allowed until this mechanic is fixed like last time when it was broken?
  15. Not sure if most people know this now but pirate vs pirate tagging / instance joining mechanic is broken and you can only join on defenders side which means there will be no pirate group vs group fights possible until this is fixed.
  16. I think it is pretty obvious that pirate vs pirate xp/gold will have to be removed.

Pirates should not even grind rank xp like navy does, they just need crew to upkeep and when they die/get captured noone will invite them to their ship to have honorable dinner in candlelight, they will be sent straight to gallows in other words permadeath - character reset. Fast progression worrying only about money and crew upkeep countered by fast downfall in case you get caught. I don't understand why we even idealize a concept of pirate utopia nation like in some fairytales? Every rat is for himself and he shouldn't even need to collect gold to craft ship - he should take it from others what belongs to him.
  18. Looking back to when I started this game and we were still in Sea Trials the beginner's experience was much more impressive at least for me. You could instantly see and experience the potential FUN this game could be by joining a pvp battle and it made a good impression and got me hooked fast. I don't know about others but I never logged in thinking: ''Wow, I can't already wait to farm this 3-pack of bots to get my next rank/ship.'' I didn't even notice the ''grind'' because I was too busy having fun. Since OW the whole rank system has felt like a dull grindwall to climb over to reach to the content of this game that interests me personally most. Make people see this game like we saw it back in sea trials - I suggest to at least give people glimpse of the fun pvp battles this game could have, limit it to light pvp like in sea trials and maybe 5-10 battles per account to give them an idea and then lock it if you are afraid they will never return to OW again after this. Everyone will be as clueless as the next person and there will be no old wolves sealclubbing them and hard AI frustrating them. One of my biggest annoyances since beginning of OW was the required AI grind and still is, not because it's challenging, it is simply not the content I am playing this game for. It doesn't mean I hate open world but I feel like new players are missing out on the fun me and many others had back in sea trials that got us more deeply involved with this game.

There are people nowadays who pay money to do things that you consider boring - ''Warehouse and Logistics Simulator'' and ''Euro Truck Simulator'' and there probably is no highway pvp in this game either. If hauling goods was not automated by the system somehow, people who hate hauling would start making macros to do the hauling for them while they sleep or afk since there are no unpredictable hazards on OS at the moment. There is no 100% full cargo looting upon capture so what would motivate anyone to even run down traders?

I've caught quite a few player snows for testing purposes and the time it takes compared to rewards is making it waste of time for all sides, I think I only got cargo from one trader, maybe the others were empty... Either way if I currently see a trader on sea I would let him go since it's simply not worth the time and hassle if there is no 100% quarantee they will lose all their cargo.
  21. That's the point - bring a SOL or go home, I'd imagine there could be potential interesting tactics for coordinated frigates too but I guess history wouldn't allow that.
  22. Currently frigates have limited gameplay and influence in those big battles other than running down the routing ships. You can do everything much more efficiently with 74 and above than with a frigate.
  23. So pirates was supposed to be hard mode but right now it's just another nation with ''teamkill'' ability and edgy flag. Let's add some salt and test permadeath for pirates upon capture since we are all about history here?
