  1. I can't imagine any "over inflated ego drama queen" actually controlling a clan of more then 10 people. For me people who say "We spit on majority of Sweden not wanting to fight with Danes, I WON'T STOP my sacred war against them!" look more like a drama queen.

I am basically for any poitical system - even controlled by devs. I prefer system based on council of most RVR envolved clans, yes (for me it seems to be the most "rightfull" in RVR context to prevent PVE people to declare peace with everyone), but I will deter to any. Basically I am for ANY political system as long as it allows to hunt people not following nation decisions AFTER it was somehow decided. Cause I want from this games real RVR and Nation experience not just "I am allowed to do as I want and to piss on the Whole Nation's peace deal and you still can't sink me". Cause it just ruins the whole "age of sail" game for me. And I suspect I am not alone. I even suspect more people think like I do, then like DRUNK people do. Seriusly, isn't it funny that the most organized nation in game currently is Pirates? Just because if DRUNK clan were in Pirates and decided to disrupt Pirates alliance with Danes there will be enough people among Pirates to quickly send all the DRUNK sailors to become a fish supper.
  3. Then make DRUNK also be showned as an enemy for KF and HRE. And restrict DRUNK members from using port captured by KF and HRE. Or better if you want completely "do as you want" game just remove nations from game and leave only clans. Devs should decide what type of game they are making. Cause I personally don't wanna play "everybody do what you want" type of game where minority of players use benefits resulted from hard work of nation "dictators" (benefits like captured ports and resources) but at the same time is actively hurting their nation interest. There is a place in game specifically for players like this - Pirate nation where everyone is supposed to act like he wants. But in reality pirate nation is the best organised nation (who would expect) because of the ability to sink such outcasts "playing like they want" on sight. Add this ability to other Nations and then the problem of DRUNKs and others like them will go away itself.
  4. How many people will buy new steam account and level them to a certain level (because of course you can't let every Jonker to vote, make it at least cmd-capt) to disrapt national police? Not many.
  5. Then why shouldn't I be able to attack people disrupting Nation policy from inside? This is MY WISH? Why can't I play as I want - hunting pirates scums hiding under the Nation's flag? Again, there should be or there shouldn't be a Nation concept in game. If there is a Nation concept - then there should be instruments either managed by players or admins to ensure NATION's policies. If this is a game where everyone "plays like he/she wants" then let's disband nations and introduce clan wars. You are talking about minority people which are "just playing like they want". What about majority of people wanting to play like a nation and whose intentions are actually hurt by this small minority? How can we play as a nation when there is no way to control a few outcasts from within a nation. At least let lord commanders of captured port restrict usage of nation ports to the ones acting on themselves. They don't wanna play as a nation, they don't participate in RVR but they enjoy all profits from it (like captured port access and resources).
  6. Because the game is marketed to be about NATIONs fighting during age of sails. The majority of NATION should have right to restrict the minority. And if minority don't like it this minority should be hunted down like pirates. When you are choosing to play in a nation (not as a Pirate) you became a Nation's officer. What typically was done to the officers who didn't follow orders. Such officer was court marshalled. Any other way it's not possible to maintain the Nations concept - better then disband nations completely and introduce just clans fighting in a Naval setting. There are 2 ways to inflict the Nation policies: 1. By voting among biggest clans participating in RVR (again, because game is mainly marketed as RVR game) 2. By explicitly managing nation allies/enemies by devs. I prefer the first way cause it has more "sandbox" feeling, but I will accept the second way, too. Currently when we have nations only "on paper" but there are a lot of people playing as pirates but sailing under nations flags it breaks the game. In some time people will start to leave because of that. And it will be actually more people than the small groups disrupting national policies.
  7. 51% vs 49%? Really? Areyou kidding me? From what we are seeing in this thread and the one nearby it's more like 95% vs 40..people! This games is about Nations! If you wanna let every small group of pleyers do what they want then disband the whole nations thing and historical resemblance and let it be just multiple wars between different clans. If any small group of players (10%) wanna do smth different than the majority of nation - let the nation ban this group into Pirates - cause that's what pirates actually did in RL and should do in game - playing as they want listening to nobody (until they would be sank, of course). For now we have Pirates playing as a kick-ass Nation (on PVP1 they are holding about 1/3 of all ports) sailing in SOLs and capturing ports like crazy and we have a lot of rogue clans in different nation who don't participate in RVR and just wanna gank every player from the nation(s) they personally don't like (essentially playing like Pirates should do - outcasted, outlawed and listening only to themselves). Few simple mechanics (Restrict pirates from sailing on SOLs, restrict pirates capturing ports, add nation the abilities to ban players from the faction) and everything will be in order again.
  8. Really. Why this DRUNKs and other rogue clans joined the Nation if they only want to play like THEY want not like NATION wants? If you are really so pissed about fighting against Danes/Swedes (whoever you want) - switch to Pirate and fight then. People in nations are trying very hard to organise RVR politics, to prevent Nations being reduced to one port and new players leaving because of that. And at the same time bunch of pirates (for some stupid reason sailing under nation flag) are just trying to ruin it. And you actually can't do anything about them. There should be mechanics to lock nations ports for such pirate scum and to be able to attack them on sight!
  9. We need a diplomacy system that will allow the majority of nation to ban such pirate scum from the nation. Because unfortunately currrently there is not much anybody can do. From the global perspective of RVR nation should capture and defend ports. Clans like DRUNK can only capture undefended port of gank someone. Therefore they are no use for their nation. They play only "how they want to play" and that's their right. Now Devs should give nation the instruments to ensure decisions of nation councils (of the clans able to participate in RVR) so now nation can play "how the nation wants". Like being able to give loyal nation captains to attack these "privateers" on sight and don't allow them to dock at the nation port. If they wanna play pirates - let them play pirates. This will fix the problem of such rogue clans oncce and for all. P.S. If you don't care about your nation and don't wanna be a part of it (and DRUNK obviously don't care, that in rea lwar against the Danes Sweden would be reduced to one port, especially when at the same time engaged in the war with us) nation shouldn't care about you. If you wanna play for yourself - play pirate. P.P.S. Currently everything is messed up in game. Pirates capture port after port sailing SOLs and doing all nation stuff. And at the same time we have shitload of rogue clan gankers sailing under nation flag but playing like a pirates...
  10. either I have problem with framing my thoughts or you have problem with understanding them (most probably the first of course). So let me try again. Show me a battle in which Sweden nation captured a port from Dutch nation without having a huge BR advantage at the beginning of the battle (So you can talk about only Dutch taking undefended ports). The only even BR defence battle I've been in (at Caracas) Swedes were defeated and I am yet to see their Deep water fleet attacking again in full force. I can't understand why screenshot from Sweden defence is relevant to a post about Sweden attacks...

  12. Strange of you to talk about us taking undefended ports: As you remember you started the war by taking undefended ports with resetted timers. And stop talking about us provoking you to do that. We both had raiding parties near la orchila and terra-de-bas, but you were the first to make an unfair move of capturing not just undefended port, but port with resetted timer. Before we were able to unite our nation and gather our heaviest ships (it took a time, nobody argues with that) you were basically fighting with Pavels and Vics against our 3rd rates and taking a lot of barely dedended ports. We are TERRIBLY SORRY we dediced to stop feeding you with free gold and xp. I just can't remember even one attack on Caracas after we managed to gather out forces the first time and sank a couple of your Victories. All you do now is flipping timers and sitting in ports. So please stop this hypocracy of yours about us taking undefended ports. I can't remember ONE port of us you took in battle without having large BR advantage.
  13. Why are we talking about newbies participating in PB. Will they do any good keeping more experienced people from the PB? Newbies can always participate in screening or harassing enemy. Just yesterday we lost a Victory (our own mistake of course for not protecting it better) AFTER PB for Macanao, cause part of Swedish screening fleet tied into battle our screener and other part tagged our Victory and several Bellonas (myself included) into battle and thus allow their SOLs to catch up with us. Victory wasn't able to outrun Frigates - we were forced to accept battle in uneven terms and lost a Victory and Bellona and 3 rd rate. I think I was the only one able to leave after they sunk our Victory. That's the example of work Frigates and other small ships can and should do. But in PB itself as in the all major sea battles in reality the place is only for heaviest ships. But again, let high tier ships be more valuable. Actually make gold and resources be more valuable. Cause in today's PB (again, Macanao) I got a Victory kill and 4 assists for other vessels on my Bellona and after that battle I got 5601 xp and around 500k gold. But do you know what I can buy with all these money? Nothing! Cause crafter queue is full and the ony valuable resource in economy now is crafting hours. As soon as enough crafters will level up we will have really endless 1st rates source. Currently I am leveling my own crafter crafting basic cutters (cause for some reason it has the best hours/xp ratio) and I just buy all needed materials in Willemstad from people whi still thinks money is an issue in this game. The issue is economy. Make it work. Make gold and resources actually mean anything.
  14. It sounds ridiculous when you have 25 Santis and can't capture the deep water port defended by 25 Cerbs. The ability to gather all might force should be rewarded and the smaller ships still play their role in screening. You are just looking at the problem from a wrong side. The problem of too many Vics and Santisimas in PB is just a problem of actually TOO MANY Vcitories and Santisimas. Cause currently the economy is completely broken. The only valuable things are crafters level and labour hours. Gold and Resources means nothin. So when you get several crafters with Santi BPs and you organize a supply chain for them (or just buy large carriages in open market), because despite it's a Santi materials for it can craft anyone with 1 level in crafting. After that you can build several Santis a day. So this is a problem. Fix economy. Make gold and resources actually valuable again (like decrease both resource production and gold rewards in 2-3 times). But for some reasons developers listen to carebears (and dumb carebears if they can't earn enough money from their missions) and actually do opposite things - like increasing resource production and gold rewards. And now we have what we have. Building a Victory or a Santisima should require a weeks work of 10 or more people. Then it will cost smth.
  15. Love the change! Actually I don't care so much about PVE carebears traders or mission runners being ganked. Also don't care much about gankers themselves too. But screening battles around PBs finally became more interesting! Now players actually attack each other and wait for other players to help, not click insta AI respawn button. So for RVR this change really feels like a fresh air!
  16. Why someone has to be rewarded with extra XP or GOLD by being dumb enough to be caught 4 vs 1 or to actually engaging 1 vs 4? Also why at all GOLD AND XP should be given for the SAME things? Current system where GOLD (not XP) goes for assisting or sinking enemy ship is historically accurate. Why should anybody be rewarded just for scratching some paint from 10 enemies ships. Part of captain's skill is to evade unfair fights. Now about XP. I personally don't like system where you get XP in "managing and commanding your team" by sinking anyone or by performing missions. You should get this xp by actually fighting (i.e. shooting, taking damage, rapairing, boarding, etc) and... wait for it.. sailing! Let some of the XP just add up when you are sailing in OW. Huge part of current PB wars is sailing around either in screening fleet or in main fleet. Let this give you som XP. Such system also can be exploited (by afk sailing for example), but this can be easily fixed by the law of diminishing results, like: 1. on flagcaptain rank you won't get any new xp from sailing anything less then Frigate 2. when for the last 24 hours you sailed in OW for 2 hours - you will get no more xp today from OW sailing. This system will be more historically accurate (like you learn how to manage your team by... managing them and you earn gold by sinking or capping enemy ships). And also AI missions will now net only raw gold but not so much xp compared with PVP. So more people will be willing to get into PVP and PB stuff cause now time to XP ratio will be better. This will be more like EVE system, when you do missions and trading/mining for money and learn skills by studying them. Now you will learn how to manage 3rd team by managing Constitution team (both in battle and OW sailing) and etc. This all can go even further. Like you crew will be better in tasks you do more often - If you are fighing a lot - it will be better at shooting. If you are running a lot - it will be better at sailing.
  17. Hethwill, you completely miss the point of my unreally long post. So here is the short version. I am not impleying everybody should camp in game for 6+ hours a day. Myself hit flagcapt couple of days ago due to a shortage of time. I was just saying (to people convinced that DAS always is so slow and etc) that CURRENT game mechanics unfortunately requires constant waiting and full alert to successfully defend and attack ports. There is no silver bullet plan that will allow us to beat swedes in 20 minutes. And currently for many various reasons swedes are putting more time in PB attack and defence (mostly, waiting time) than Dutch. And that's why it's incredibly hard to be even defensive (and offensive too, of course) against someone, who is willing to spend so much time for RVR waiting.
  18. The things you are saying make me pretty sure you won't be good at this. You really think this is all simple to create a "plan" with current PB system? Well, obviously you don't know the system. The system gives enemy 3 hours (2 hours to craft the flag and 1 hour to bring it in) and the ability to craft insane amounts of fake flags. So yeah, currently you should be near contested region (for us it's currently Orchila-Caracas-Las Aves triangle) for around 2 hours waiting for the enemy to craft a flag. Then, after we finally get a message about crafted flag we have to deploy screening fleet to actually site the enemy and make sure flag is real. Only after the main attack force is definitely spotted on the move it is possible to make some decisions. Now, about offensive actions so many noobs like to imply DAS/PFK alliance lacks. We tried to attack La Blanquilla, Tortuga and Saint Georges on multiple occasions. There are several problems (and because you don't know them I imagine you actually never play a part in these attacks): Untill yesterday we weren't able to assemble adequate Deep Water fleet (with Victories, Pavels and all the stuff) to match Sweden fleet even in Defence. So during our PB attacks we were just giving them insane amounts of xp and gold. See example at the end of the post. Yesterday at Caracas it really feeled like a miracle and it was great fighting in this fleet sinking Sweden Victories and Pavels. Still a lot of PVE carebears on Pavels and Victories didn't come. But I imagine we were able to gather at least 25% of what we really have. With shallow water fleets there is another problem. With 25 vs 25 Mercuries 3 towers the defenders have really make difference. And ALL our attacks on Blanquilla or Tortuga even with great screening and fake flags always encounter FULL shallow water defence fleet. You know why? Because Swedes are really motivated and they REALLY wait for 3 hours in one port and then TP to another and wait 3 hour there. They setup their PB timers in such way that only 2 ports are opened for attack at the same time. And you can be sure that during timer time there is full fleet already prepared for attack and sitting inside the port not complaining about "Gee, you should design a plan, I don't wanna sit their for 3 hours". They reaaly wait there and then go wait in next. It's really hard to take a port from Sweden. Black Friday taught them a lot. So resume: Current PB system does require a lot of waiting by it's design. The waiting time to fighting time ratio is really sick. this is DEVS problem - let's them fix it. Currently we should play in what we have Swedes are highly motivated and have strong shallow water fleet prepared to wait and def their shallow water ports and attack our shallow ports the same time their Deep water fleet makes its move - this is OUR problem. We DON'T HAVE shallow water fleet. We just have DAS deep water fleet captains jump in their Mercs from time to time. But when these captains are busy with Swedes deep water fleet we are screwed - this is OUR problem. Swedes have very skillfull and strong deep water fleet. But yesterday we were able to defeat it with combined forces of DAS and PFK. If we will be able to gather such force each day we will be able to drive their main fleet away and maybe recap some of our deep water ports. Advice for someone willing to participate: Yes, currently RVR requires more waiting then actual fighting. It takes some motivation (like the one Swedes have after they were steamrolled). If you are prepared to waste some time but to get some great fighting (not just talking about some "plans" in chat or forum) you can always move to the east and do your missions in La Orchila-Caracas-Las Aves triangle staying in parallel in TS to be ready for some action. This area is not as good for missioning as Maracaibo bay but if you are here only for missions in Maracaibo you should really play on PVE server. P.S. Sorry for the long post, but I was a bit tired hearing "Why DAS cant devise some super plan so we will defeat Swedes in 20 mins and then I can go continue my missions" in nation chat and forums so wanted to give some brief orientation in current RVR situation in Dutch vs Sweden war. P.P.S. Some motivation. Yesterday deep water Caracas def net me 3.5k xp and around 400k gold in around 30-min PB.
  19. I think he mean and I agree with him (while playing for the Dutch) that abusing or not abusing the timers have no effect on the outcome of this war. Even if the port timers were set up for our "Prime time" these port should've been located in Maracaibo bay for us to defend/capture them, cause all our victories and Pavels and a handful of Bellonas are their missioning their asses off. Still I've seen our Pavel actually sailing away from started PB in Macanao so maybe even that wouldn't help. We can't master an adequate defence fleet during our "prime time". What a hypocrisy for us to talk about "abused attack timers".
  20. With all due respect to a fellow DAS member. But we aren't loosing because of some timers Swedes put in. We are loosing cause we got a shit load of carebears both in our nation and unfortunately in our clan too. How can we speak about attacking some ports if we are loosing ports EVERY day, cause we cannot master an adequate PB fleet for defence. I will get vlagcaptain rank only today/tomorrow, but I was screening for the fleet EVERY day for the past 2 weeks in my trinco. During workdays I have just a couple of hours to play and usually I spend them screening in my trinco and trying to help with def/attacks. And every day I saw the same people in TS from DAS and PFK (and now even PFK rerolled and I honestly can't blame them) and maybe a couple people from smaller clans trying to do a shit about this war. The other nation and unfortunately (I have to stress it again) huge part of our clan doesn't give a shit about it. Where is all our guys with Victories and Pavels? We have around the same number of these guys as the Swedes do - it's easy to track it down by DAS ship order list. Where is the rest of the nation? Missioning in Maracaibo bay! While travelling from time to time around Willemstad I see people in Victories, Bellonas, Pavels, that I NEVER seen anywhere around PBs. There is no need in accusing Swedes for setup of their timers, if we can't gather capable fleet in our prime time. And if we craft 1st and 2nd rates for people who will only use them for mission running in Maracaibo. Swedes have superb organization of their fleets for both attack and defence. They were steamrolled in the past, all their carebears left (I suppose a lot of them rerolled to Dutch) and a bunch of hardcore PVPers rerolled to Swedes for hard fighting. And now the group of around 50 people are each night showing the Dutch how to fight. Maybe we should let them steamroll us so all our carebears will leave and we will lose this fake feeling of numbers.
  21. Still can't understand what are you trying to say? Why are you again turning this into some politics brawling? I don't wanna to discuss politics. I just said that ganking people in fleet of basic cutters and then going all bravado about it on forum is stupid and doesn't show ANY skills or bravery. And this goes to whoever is doing that - Dutch, Brits, Pirates, Swedes, etc When I see "SLRN Skirmishers take the fight to the French aggressors in Panama" I expect to read about some classic screening action or about some interesting frigate skirmish in OW. And when I just saw another post about action in DRUNK style (how we ambushed someone or exploit some failed mechanics (like undestructible by ramming basic cutters)) performed in free ships without risk of losing anything I just couldn't pass by without saying something. I am sorry. You guys are the best basic cutter captains in the world. We will be on constant alert on seeing you in Dutch waters. Cudos!
  22. In basic cutters of course? Fighting war is defending your ports (by PB or screening), not ganking somebody with free to lose ships and then boasting about it on forums. P.S. I am playing on Dutch side, not French.
  23. Great victory achieved in "have nothing to lose ships". As Hethwill already pointed another 10+ unsuccessfull attempts were just forgotten. Let's salute to this "brave" british captains, who are aftraid to leave port in actual valued ship. Yesterday 2 swedish guys in 2 Consti ambushed my friend's Bellona and allied trinco near La Orchila. That was a fair fight (BR was even in Dutch favor) and they managed to sink Bellona. Now they did it in a fair battle deep inside dutch territory in an actual valued ships. But these skilled swedish captains haven't come here boasting about their victory. Cause for them it's a regular military action. But Brits are happy with each sank French trinco. But of course when you are loosing one port after another in Panama you have to find at least something to be happy about. I used this game mechanics exploit (unlimited basic cutters for everybody in every port) myself when I had first leut rank and was afraid to lose my first captured Snow. Now I am ashamed of this time in my naval career. But I guess everybody has it's own moral standards.
  24. It wasn't entirely a bug. We managed to drag the whole Swedish fleet to the OW battle just at the moment they placed the flag. So while we were tagging them inside OW battle some of our ships entered a PB and some 10 mins later they received "battle over message" and even got some resources for successful defend. Then they left but for some reason swedes were able to enter the battle but weren't able to do any damage to the towers. So in fact I think there is a rule that at least one attacker should enter port battle within 5-10 mins after flag was planted. Faliure to do so results in fail assault but by bug players can still enter the battle. So the def was won not because of bug, but because of good and timed (lucky timed to be sincere - nobody planned for this) interception. Bug was only in allowing players to enter the battle (and loose their time) after the assault already failed.
  25. Maybe you should just stop farming and missioning and go help your nation at war. You know - you can actually screen in a frigates - actually good screening is the only reason for so many successful interceptions. You can also earn some good exp from PVP. Yestarday after sinking enemy's Bellona in my Trincomalee with a bunch of frigates I got 1.5k of exp. and around 1100 of it was just for player Bellona kill! Each day I see a shitloads of Dutch vlagcaptains whom I haven't ONCE seen anywhere near action. I even saw this admiral on Victory (who already ordered a santisma on das ship order list), whom I never seen in battle. Also quite a lot of guys have Pavels and I yet to see at least one defending our port. No, yesterday we couldn't master even 25 3rd rates! We are loosing war not because of lack of AI fleets, but just because most part of the nation is constantly grinding missions in Maracaibo and other places. And swedes are VERY organized despite the fact, that they have much smaller population. I think that's because they were trained by Danes (what haven't killed them only made them stronger). I am very sad with current state of matters in Dutch republic... We are loosing to much smaller nation. And the only reason we are not loosing completely is the somehow broken mechanics of fleet interception. 5-10 frigates shouldn't be allowed to intercept 25 3rd rates in OW. Maybe we should give all ports to Swedes so our mission runners finally received some good mission ganks and MAYBE decided to help defend their nation.
