  1. You been doing a lot of name calling in this thread, honestly doesn't help you case and prob why other clans won't work with you during those time zones. Hell I experienced it on EU when many of us where going to come over and help flight the US/GB players.
  2. and I heard the same crap from you with zero solution over and over. You do know that prob about 99% of the numbers on EU server don't give a crap about RvR all they want is OW numbers in a game they want to play. You keep saying it was tried, actually it wasn't . It was tried on a very broken system that is nothing like what we have now. This is ALPHA TESTING OF A GAME. We need to change things and try them. Apparently with the number drops on EU your port timers wasn't working either. Ya'll been loosing more players than GLOBAL has over all for a very long time. So that means something wasn't working on BOTH servers. So time to make changes and try new things out. Hell it might work it might not, but this isn't final release so the Devs can do what ever they want. Remember over 50% of the sales of this game is US based, so they should not be catering to a small majority of the EU pop that just want to have it there way, they should be balancing a game for a global all around the world player base. When the game gets released maybe they will have an EU server with the locked port times again and you can return when that happens, until than why don't you try to suck it up and try something new out. I'm mean every thing is going to get wiped upon release any way other than our XP so why does it matter what we do until than?
  3. Than don't treat it as a full time job. Your clan keeps to the ports it can hold and that is it. Let the other folks fight it out. You set those ports to times when your on and you defend it than. End of story. If you need others to fill slots on other days than get friends. You can have up to 15 clans after all on your friends list. Use them. Hell we have just about all our slots full on GLOBAL with other pirates just to let small clans join and help.
  4. I'm hoping redeemable with the xp and such so you can reroll them. I have done nothing with my EU chars other than Redeem some of there XP and some of the names I want to change or keep cause I liked them better than my GLOBAL names and well others I don't want to use either. So hopefully redeemables so we can re-roll and name them as we want into what nations we want. Sir Texas Sir on EU I think is in GB and I have no plans to keep him in that nation after this merger. Only did that just to chat with folks when I pop in there since I used my Pirate over there since wipe.
  5. I tell them that all the time, not to mention if you couldn't defend a port set in your clan prime time it wouldn't matter if there was timers or not your going to loose that port any way. What they don't like is that a mulit national CLAN/'s can take a port from them and than set it in another time zone they can't bring the same numbers and take it back. Well than maybe they should stop pissing off US/SEA players and get some friends. I for one will not be playing US or GB. I'm sure there will be others that will be more than welcome to join a nation that isn't the big high pop nations.
  6. Or they can fight other EU clans, maybe if they didnt' all join one nation....wait we have 11 nations so with odds there will be a good number of clans in most nations. Just don't be a dick and run those none clans of your region out of the nation. Let them do there own thing and you do your. It's pretty simple. We don't have to own every thing in every time zones after all. Than fight the EU clans in your time zones. I know we have fought US and Aus clans in GLOBAL so it won't change much other than now we will prob have mid day battles on weekends with the EU guys too maybe. Or maybe we will merge some clans to cover all three time zones? Can we do it so we can reroll the chars to a new nation and change names for free and than redeem every thing? I have some chars in nations I won't be playing on EU and some of the names I won't want to use, but other names I will want to keep simply cause I want to maybe do some solo pirate play for a while not attached to my main name and clan. One server while in ALPHA testing is better all around. Every game I been on does this and when they release they open up there regional servers and than tweek how many they need after the full numbers show. Though my only issue have ya'll thought about putting the server in a better location for the majority of the player base to get a decent ping. Keep the same data just move the server location is all. Going to be interesting as some clans have names on both servers. BLACK is no both and unless we merge or do some alt name we can't have two BLACK on one server. So would be nice to refund every thing in that manor. Yah not so sure I like the instant battle thing with no way to counter hostility missions. It would be like the old flag problem of sitting around for two hours waiting to be attacked and not getting anything done. It also needs to be a 4 hour window as that would cover many time zones. US has 3-4 times zones, AUS does to, and EU has how many? A bigger window will cover more players in a clan that isn't just one region area.
  7. Remember it's only when your tagged, it doesn't work if they join a fight your in or a mission.
  8. And I also said they don't belong in the open world sand box game, you want to duel meet at high noon some where in OW. While a training room would be nice to set up, this is not WoT or other games like that, that would be more for something like NA:L if it got a clan war based set up. Instead do what most us do when we want to train or test something. Find a low level AI trade ship and just let it escape.
  9. unless your the same nation and can't tag each other. Sadly was a fun feature of being a pirate we could test and duel each other without chasing down some AI trader. Trade ships run from you, but than you have to find one. Not that I'm a fan of duel rooms as they need to be left in NAL type games, but this pretty much what we have to do. Pirates did have a nice feature at one time we used to test stuff out side of mort instead of hunting for traders, but some folks abused that and got it removed again. Which still didn't fix the other problem of tagging your buddy with a smuggler flag and forcing us to only be able to join the bad tag side of a fight. That was abused more than the Pirates FFA fights was by what I seen and still being abused. Though a training room could be nice to test new things out, but than we become more like NAL than a open world sandbox. List me an open world sandbox game that also has dueling rooms? Though honestly if you want to duel meet each other a high noon at the selected mutual location.
  10. I think I know who's Santi he's talking about. I guess ya'll still haven't caught Privateers Santi? Which I do believe he captured off Powerdown if I remember right. I watched the other night a L'Ocean which use to suck at any thing up wind run down a mortar brig going close haul. Maybe did the sail data changed that much on SOL's or something? L'Ocean use to blow balls at any thing up wind. Though what I think there should be is a cap based off each ships base speed. Say the ship is a 10.97 kn ship (Santi stats on wiki at a glance). 20% cap for any ship would mean the fastest you would ever get that Santi to is 13.16. Play with the percentage not a base cap for all ships like the 15.5 Though that could be game cap that now ship can be faster than. This way the Renommee with 13.69 would have the top speed of 16.42 if you max out the 20%, but that means it's over the cap so it won't go fast. Connie/Wasa with there 12.30 would have a cap of 14.76...still fast, but it won't hit the game cap that way. This will let the ships meant to be speed ships be actual speed ships. The Renomme can use that 16.42 speed to make it's other sail profile speeds higher or it could go with a stronger build of a ship than a fir fir and still meet cap. Though other ships might be made fir fir, but if the base speed is to low they will never hit the cap. Fir Fir ships will take up 10% of that cap, This way they only have 10% they can use for mods. Unless they go with a stronger wood type and stack mods to get the % but nothing can go above 20%. This percentage can easly be raised or lower by the devs as they balance the ships, but since it's based off the ships base speed it means that some ships will never no matter what hit game cap.
  11. As long as you have unlocked the slot on the ship you can use one of the ship knowledge you have learned in that slot. The more slots you unlock the more you get to pick and set on the ship. This also lets you change your ship a bit. You can set up your ship for AI fleet grinding with certain ship knowledge and than change them around for OW PvP or Port battles. Like when I bring a ship to a zone we are doing port battles. I might set it up for speed and travel to get to our staging port. Than I might add planking and other things for the port battle since it's a slower build. I just need to enter a friendly port to change those slots out to new skills that I have learned. And like Farrago said some Elite Mods takes those books to craft the perm mods. I out of habit all ways learn the skill at lease once and than keep those books to make the elite mods for important ship builds (like PvP or port battle ships). Those books also tend to fetch a pretty good price on the market. Some books also like the 5 Rings and Gunnery encyclopedia take mulit books that can be learned on there own, to combine and make like a mega ship knowledge of multi stats.
  12. Poll content doesn't work for the most part cause we are less than 10% of the player base on the furoms. If you want real numbers and real results you need to poll the actually player base not us guys that Forum Warrior on here.
  13. They are leaving for other reason or have all ready left. And as you so said it works for a majority of the players why keep changing the rules for a minority? This is why I have stated a lot of times if Devs really want to know how the current player base things of things they need to do an IN GAME SURVEY not a poll on a forum where not even 10% of the players are on.
  14. How many ships do folks really loose per day? Most folks don't rush right back out into a fight after loosing a ship unless it's in there home waters or a forward base that they set up multi ships. In which cause be better prepared and set up to loose ships and replace them. YOu shouldn't be able to loose a ship and than instantly be right back out there with a full fitted up combat ready ship in a split second if your doing forward operations and didn't have the extra supplies set up there.
  15. He did a trade run, so what he expect teleport his goods to a port on the other side of the map, which he couldn't do so he's going to take time to sale. Some folks actually enjoy that part of the game. Remember we aren't the only ones that play this game. I use to enjoy it when there was things to explore and actually interesting things to find in ports. If he wants to work in a certain area of the map than he needs to plan ahead. If he only has an hour or so each day to play than stay in the area he can play in. We have a big map, you don't have to play or own all of it after all. When we had multi tow to ports you saw less folks on the OW cause they would just tow there ships all over the place pluss cargo (cause you could do it with cargo) which means even less PvP which the OG and other posters say they want. IF they want instant PvP than there is a game now out for it. Not my problem it's not there cup of tea either and still in beta stage (remember this game is an alpha). All I did was pointing him towards where he could get said instant combat. Right now as many folks have clearly stated changing mechanics is not going to solve the problem at hand, the problem is lack of players. We need to finish the rules/mechanics we have and than get the UI done and add some more content than try to get players back or bring in more. If we keep changing the mechanics around over and over this game will never get to a Beta stage and or release. We tried multi dur's, and we tried multi tel-ports and tel-ports after a battle. They didn't' work they ment less players on the OW which means even less PvP which he's complaining about. Hell I spent a good 2 hours last night getting Iron out of Parrot Cay since we weren't able to take it back and than picking up a tone of coal out of my coal port. It's part of the game, wasn't boring to me as I took a big risk running those ships out of port that just had battles around it early (like an hour or two after the port batttle). Some of us enjoy taking those risk and having a good sail. If others don't have the time than do what others do, buy the goods in port for an increase time from the folks that do enjoy making the sales and playing the game more than 30 mins or a few hours.
  16. 2. Ranting and trolling A rant is a post that is filled with angry and counterproductive comments. Rants are disruptive, and incite flaming and trolling. Trolling is when you structure your posts to anger and insult other players to achieve an emotional response. Please post your thoughts clearly and avoid trolling. You really should learn what trolling is before you accuse other folks of it and or make personnel attacks that have nothing to do with the OP topic. He wanted something and I told him where he could get it a game designed exactly as he described he wanted. I also love how you hide behind a Forum name that isn't you in game name, which by the way can be seen as another form of trolling since folks don't know who you are in game.
  17. are you can leave a port and get jumped 20 times, some days you get a lot of action other days you might not get any. That is life. If you want 24/7 action with a push of a button than well we all ready suggested that game.
  18. Don't over extend your self, work out of ports you have set up in. My clan has three main areas we work out of. Every one has Mort. Islam and Cart with most of us having Kidd's too. You keep ships and supplies in those ports for fights. Anything we do in those regions we do from those ports. If we expand out we have some one bring a trade ship with supplies. You only expand out as much as you can support. If you can't get ships to those ports to stock up than you have no reason pushing further. I only have half the dock slots unlocked and I do fine. That is 11 ships but I only normally have about 9 at any one time. I also keep 1 outpost open at all times. I haven't unlocked the last one either. You just need to organized and work out your teams/clan to be ready. If you sink than go back and start over or have back up. If you want instant return to the fight and you don't have the supplies, than maybe Naval Action Legend is the game for you. And I haven't been the only one to say this, lately every thing you keep saying in your post means it's what you want, but in the OW. Sorry can't every every thing and easy mod. There needs to be some limits and challenges in the game. Other wise it gets boring, the same type of boring that keeps me from paying NAL. It's not my cup of tea.
  19. You have to use the ship first and gain xp on that ship. As you gain more xp you unlock slots. Those slots are skills you have learned from either buying them from the shop or from drops. This is what I'm assuming your asking. Other than the shallow trade ships all ships have to have the slots unlocked through xp gained in combat.
  20. YOu mean the same guys that are having a fit cause we now have PvP items that they think are OP. They kinda can be, but we need more of the items they get from grinding in that shop so we don't have to grind. We can buy them with PvP marks instead. That and I think the PLVG needs to be a BP for 150 marks not just a ship. I won't buy it for just one ship. I would if it was the BP though. OK and why have never got an answer @admin about paints? Where have they gone? if you have a new system for them than keep them in until the new system comes. If not than bring them back and put them in epic event chest, treasure chest and bought through PvP marks. I bet you I could trade a sought after paint for a sought after mod they got from grinding pretty easly. We need more stuff to trade back to get the PvE content from them. The cost of the PvP content is so high there is no way I'm going to trade with what little PvP I get in these days and the fact I have to share the marks from my kills. I think what little I played and that been very little I gotten 2 dozen PvP marks from a few port battles and a few OW fights.
  21. Even better go back to having it so we can craft most mods and just make the Ship knowledge the main stat changer. I mean what mods do we have that can be crafted. Copper Plating Any accuracy mod. Any Pen mod that can be called cannon upgrades Etc etc Even better do like they mention in the post last year about the ship crafting where we would be selecting this stuff upon crafting the ship. You get the Wood type Frame and Planking and than three other options to add to the ship if you know the BP's for adding copper plating or certain refits. They become perm part of the ship until it's sunk. So each ship is a special build.
  22. Normally when you farm one side doesn't fight. That is what they do is check the logs to see if either side fights and if it's a pattern cause most farmers do it more than once. That is how they tend to get caught. Doing 1 vs 1's isn't a problem if you both actually fight each other and not just make it one sided.
  23. Yah never liked it when they where able to pre-wipe. When we held Castries (french closes silver) to keep it out of the GB hands. I would fill any none GB/US/DUTCH contract or tell them to just let me know and I would sale silver to them directly cause I had so much stockpiled at that port. That and I wish we can pick and choose which contracts we can fill. If we know it's a known alt of another nation (IE SPY/TRAITOR/SMUGGLER) we should have the option to not sale to that player and to some one else even if it means less profits. his is why a reputation system is really honestly needed in this game. It could make trading/smuggling way more interesting. You are say a pirate, but you got great reputation with the french traders (you never hit them even protected a few) so you are allowed to go into there ports with a trade ship and trade. Your trade reputation is neutral with the Spanish cause you never do anything with them. You still need the smuggler flag to get your trade ship into that port. Say all you do is sink US ships, well guess what your trade reputation sucks you can't even event the ports with a smuggler flag cause they know it's you and your hated by that nation type thing.
  24. Unless the game is pretty much an arena based game and even some of them have PvE content to do when your not attacking other players, but you look at most REAL MMO"s not arena games they have pretty much 99% PVE content. The PvP content is the players them selves attacking each other. Most of the good gear you have to do elite content to get against Elite Bosses with the help of other players. Other wise they have missions that you do in the PvP content (Kill so many players, get so many head shots, etc etc) that you have to do to get like wise PvP only gear. Most of them lock that gear to that player and only use in the PvP ares. I get the dog fight arena parts is pretty much all PvP but don't you have ground and sea targets that aren't run by players? That would be PvE content I hate to tell you. You can't put a contract up with the smuggler flag, you can only put contracts up in an enemy port if it's open to all. Though with the smuggler flag since it's kinda abused by some to force pirates to only be able to join one side (national tagging anther nation). They should be treated as pirates while they have that flag on and can be attacked by any one, even there own nation and other pirates. One thing about the crafting is they should tie crafting perks to your crafting rank. Fine we have combat perks right, 10 points you get for every other level until you max out at 5 and can put them towards combat sills. Well why do I have to reset it ever time i want to craft. My ranks and crafting level aren't part of the same system. Combat perks and crafting perks should be seperated. That way a guy that never crafts and is a Rear Admiral has his 10 perks for combat. A guy that never fights and all he does is craft/trade can have his 10 crafting perks points. Than you have the guys like me that are maxed out in both. That way I can do combat and crafting and not have to continue to reset my perks. Cause of the reseting I have a dedicated crafting alt that has all the crafting perks and never leaves the docs. Though it shouldn't be like this for the guy that has only one char, they should be able to do both without a reset if they have level up both there ranks and crafting level. It's easy give them one crafting point for ever 5 levels they game until they reach level 50 crafting. While this is a sandbox game and you can do what every you want, it still gives folks two careers paths they can go down or they can go down both if they want. As for Nations I wish they had national perks for being part of that nation. Think of the refits per-wipe. Yes I know folks will be like why do they have special powers, no think of it more like national focus in training of there navy. British - Reload bouns French - Accuracy bonus Pirates - Maybe upwind or boarding Prep or my pref more crew? Dutch/Swede/Danes - repair bonus US - Strong Hull (more HP not thickness) Spanish - Not sure as the hunter was turn/speed Three new nations are hard core mode so they don't get anything special but some one could think of something for them. You know something like that. Now what I would do so they aren't magic perks of the player is make it tied to crafting the ships in those nations. You want that special pirate refited ship you need to trade for one or capture one. You want the french fine ship that is designed to have a better fire line with it's cannons than you have to trade for one or capture it. This would give each nation a little perk as to why to play them instead of others. Now you can make it a player only skill so that it's not tied to the ship, but I think makeing national crafted ships would been better. I liked the concept of the crafted refits when you made a ship, but I just didn't like them being tied to a region not a nation cause the first thing strong nations did was captured all the good refit ports. That and we need population incentive to play certain nations. Do like other games, you have a small pop nation on a server give them an xp/credit boost over the high pop nations. Though the trick is picking how to pick if it's a small pop weak nations. Do you go by active player numbers (inactive won't work) or do you go by who owns the most ports. I would honestly go by who owns the most ports. The three new nations though would be exempt from this since they don't have a home capital. It's part of playing hard core mode.
