  1. Every game I been on has done this. If anything you got to keep the open beta forwards stuff, but every thing before that tend to get wiped in every game I have tested. Cause some folks are sitting on millions and millions of credits and ships they got either through a lot of grinding or using the system that isn't flushed out to make it (flooding markets and setting contracts to buy stuff). You don't even want to know how many 1st rates we are sitting on in our clan right now. Most of them we have captured but many of them we are producing like crazy cause folks have so much stocked up resources. It gives way to much advantage to them over new players. I know it's a promis but I got to say one thing going back to a basic cutter as a Curse and grinding up ships is going to suck, it won't take long with a good clan though, but hay it's still going to suck. I assume all the BP's will be gone to so you will be limited on crafting only what you get for your crafting rank. I assume no more free officer changes so you won't be able to just gift perk your way to all the BP's again. It will be intrested none the less when the time comes, but I do think resources should be wiped clean as some folks have way to much stuff stocked piled up. I got a feeling we will prob get a redeemable ship or two upon release to make up for her help in testing. The guys with the Yachts will prob get those and it will prob be something like the EA where we got the Pickle BP, Rennon and Nigeria ships.
  2. To be honest the best way to fix the gank squad out side reason folks sit in battle screens is when you exit a battle you should exit where you had run too. I been a battle in front of Sundry and we chased a guy almost all the way to CT before he was able to escape. We should exit in that area not all back at Sundry again. This way folks can't camp the cross swords out side and gives you that running start you had in battle to keep escaping. I'm also nice enough if it was a good battle to page one of the guys and let them know I"m going to take a break or head to bed/dinner so I won't be poping back out. I been in a few battles that lasted twice clock count down where folks where trying to get me after I sunk one of there budies. that is a long time to be just running from a gank squad after you finished a 1 vs 1 or even more funny when it was 2/3 vs 1 and you sunk all 2/3 and they are mad so bring out 5-10 ships (including there AI fleets) to hunt down one ship. Yep one time had 9 chasing me in a battle for 3 hours after I had sunk 2 and got away from the third.....by the 3rd hour I just sat in battle screen and went to take the trash out and than made dinner before I popped back out into the open sea.
  3. Could be worse since this is a russian game we culd be in Russia. I have alpha/beta tested other russian games and played on Russian servers.....it wasn't fun so I was happy when they released the games and it was put on multi servers world wide. Hell I been in asia and had better ping on US servers than game servers made for asia/aus players. So the location isn't exactly the best thing all the time, it's the service of the provider. Who ever we have for PvP2 right now seems to be having a lot of lag issues. I notice the guys that are us and don't complain about PvP1 ping are all east coast players. Hell I'm bias I think the server should be central US (made my TS server there for another game clan I'm in). As you get further and further from the east cost our ping goes up. I'm sorry guys saying 300+ ping is playable must not do big Port Battles or a lot of PvP cause I can notice the performance of the game change big time from PvP1 and PvP2 when in such battles. I started on PvP1 cause of the bigger population but moved more to PvP2 cause of better battle times and well the players. To be honest I bet if they do a one time transfer either way (not just PvP2 to PvP1) it would prob help the numbers. I deleted my char on PvP1 to play around as a pirate before I went Pirate on PvP2. I have since deleted him again and made him a National again. So really with the game release wipe and such why can't folks just get it in there head your going to lose all that gold and ships any way when the game is released so let it go and move to the server that best suits your time zone and play.
  4. Yah that is something I think is funny when you see folks complain about things like this. I actually want a complete wipe of even levels when the game goes live to be honest. That is what every beta/alpha game I ever played tested did before they went live.
  5. Why are your materials so costly? Oh I know cause every one in the US nation jacks pries out the roof. 1.5 million is what I sold a Pavel the other day in Pirate nations. Than again I craft every thing myself including the notes so for me it's cheap to turn profit. If your spedning that much on meterial that you have to mark the ships up that much than there is a problem and you need to find another source of the products and well make them yourself.
  6. I'm really wanting early like next week early. I need some new stuff to play with. Other wise I think I"ll just take a break until the patch comes out.
  7. THis is why they give folks heads up. You have had plenty of time to move them and prob still do have plenty more time unless the patch is this Thursday when I hope they do it.
  8. IF that is you location that than might be why. I live Central (TEXAS) and I started on PvP1 and I do get lag spikes a lot and my ping will go from 130 to 400 at times specially in big battles. So not every one has the nice close routed connection to across the sea. Even worse for the Asian and Aussie players.
  9. And than I take there ship....I have took so many Bucc's and got so many mats from breaking down the undercrew reedeemable's folks undercrewed. Prob should be this way. To be honest it looks like we can still fight in the Bahamas, just shallow waters are going to have a ROE restriction on ships is all. It looks like a 150 dura limit on tagging if my math is right. Would be nice cause I'm sick of every one haveing AI's with there Mercs and not wanting to 1 vs 1, but than this will mean when our three players hit some one with 2 AI no one can join and help them. AI's are so easy to kill any way.
  10. It wouldn't be a bad thing if they allowed transfer from a populated nation to a lower populated or even servers when the patch comes to kinda balance out the numbers.
  11. To be honest if the US would of just left our lower bahamas alone and they wouldn't done this Alliance with GB and they just both fought each other. We would prob leave there ports alone and just screen out side there battles. We did this the other morning for Danes and it was a blast. Caught a bunch of brits and think we even got the flag before it got there. OW PvP to me is way funner than these empty battles with mortar brigs (and yes I have taken many ports this way myself) and all the QQing..... So I'm really hopeing this new patch gets here and hope it's this Thursday cause the wipe and new stuff looks like a lot of fun. We see AGRO we just go over there and have fun and pester the Nationals. I mean lets be honest does US really have to own half the map every time? Maybe maybe even french will get some more ports back and the other small natiosn will get some numbers back....though I still think poor Spain is just screwed. BUT UNTIL PIRATE MECHANICS come out folks need to just get over with it and see us as a Nation until than cause that is what we are for the most part other than a few players that don't get involved in the politics.
  12. Man those numbers are way off like almost double for many of those groups. ZILCH is mainly in Bahamas and North Cuba though, but they do show up at our battles some times. As you said active PvPers.....you still have the second largest population along wiht US having the largest. It's not a problem you have so few PvPer's and the rest are just a bunch of Care Bears. Yep they came in BRIT chat I heard and made it very clear US and Brits still has the largest ACTIVE POPULATIONS. I'm kinda confused here unless it's just been the last few nights in Bahamas when exactly was the last time you been in a port battle Blackthorne to talk about numbers? Show some screen shots or stop going off what others tell you cause most the time we been way out number in the Bahamas even the times we won. I know for a fact I have done a lot of jumping out of one battle to jump over into another battle. Most those battle were not at the exact same times either that is why we where able to field even close to those numbers at each one. A lot of hopping around and sailing fast from one port to another. Sending lower level guys to defend ports while the others are in the bigger fights. You want to know what that is called? TEAM WORK. Would be nice if there was a port close we could just give you so you can say...."HAY EVEN WE GOT MORE PORTS THAN THE BRITS."

  14. Barricades right now in game give you a bonus to Melee and firepower for boarding. Shouldn't this also give you crew defense bonus from grapping and such too? Cause that is what it pretty much does is protection on the deck for them to hide behind and shoot from. I was thinking about this cause it seems the meta now is to grape folks crews down just encase they are boarders. Well if some one was board fit or even if just a trader with a edge against Pirates/Privateers (see I pick on our guys too) to keep them from boarding and graping there crew should get a bonus to defense against such things like grape shot on a broad side. I'm pretty sure there are a few other mods that might have other cross over from boarding to ship battle and such that could be useful ways to give ships more a rounded build instead of them being strictly all COMBAT or all BOARD Fitted. This would go great if we can ever get a Musket/Sharp shooter action while in ship combat that if your close to each other and have Marines they can actually shot a few crew off each other ships. This would be a good way to deter some of the small boats that love to stern camp the bigger ones that might have marines (or just traders with them).
  15. Are even more that Trader you hit isn't actually a trader. I would love some more modified ships like the Pirate Firgate. The problem is most folks start to know names pretty fast. So it would have to hide the name until your in battle and we all know the care bears will cry bloody hell if we had something like this.
  16. Ok let me give you a little lesson from my grand pa. You want to know why moonshiners got away a lot of times? Cause they don't use common off the show floor cars. They take a car or even truck as he use to run with a false bottom bed and they modified it. You know what has come of them silly moon shiners? NASCAR. The speed perk on the Pirate side to me is that the pirates remove extra stuff from the ship to slime line her. Remember most of them worked out of a port close by and did short raid trips while Military and exploration vessales some times was out at see for months if not years before returning home. They need a lot more stuff on there ship to stay out longer than pirates did. Mrdoomed already brought up that Military/Naval vessels are more disciplined and trained that is why they would get the reload perk. Take the movie and book (have never read it) Master and Commander. Remember them doing the cannon drills so they can fire faster and get there two broad sides onto the larger more gunned french vessels? Well that right there is what the Pirate hunter skill pretty much is. When I was in the Navy and was at sea we drilled three nights a week and this was after our normal work hours we where up doing drills. The point is they beat it into so much that it becomes second nature when something really does happen you don't think, you just do it. See I just gave you two examples how they are magic skills.
  17. I have my tripple Privateer fleet ready to raid the shallow water traders....I mean noobies...I mean seal clubbers...yah them evil bad seal clubbers.
  18. DEVS have even come on your (BRIT) channel and told you guys we are not the largest nations. The most populated on PvP2 is US and than BRITS. The probelm is we ware the most organized though. You ever did a look at all the port battles and the names you see over and over and over and over? I'm going to bet it's pretty much the same 15-20 guys with a few others thrown in that you see over and over. We are just nation at this time per the Devs (Pirate Rebulic to be exact lasted 11 years per DEVS). We only get part of teh mechanics that you guys do. We don't get alliance and wew have every one at war with us. As per you little magic perk thing look at Pirate hunter, with the right combo of mods you can have 25% faster reloading guns against pirates. Tell me that isn't OP? Maybe if ya'll would stop running from fights as soon as one or two guys get sunk (and almost every time when you had us out number) you might actually when a few fights. Stop rigging your ships to run and turn and fight. Than the 1 knt will be useless and believe me our 1st rates are not rigged to chase folks down, they are built to tank in fights. Might be why they don't sink as fast as the Brits and US? In due time the DEVS will get to the Pirates and make there changes but right now they are working on the National mechanics of the game. YOU ARE HERE AS A ALPHA TESTER JUST LIKE WE ALL ARE.........SO TEST THE GAME.

  20. They really need to fix number three. I gotten nothing but grey drops from curse missions and regional port battles. I haven't gotten anything from PvP in open world other than cargo and XP/Gold but that is fine. Just don't see why I"m getting a grey mod in Regional Batles with SOL's is all. Though I hear folks getting MC and Gold drops doing solo low level missions and such.
  21. Like getting a foot hold of the area's around them. I know some might think about going to mess with one nation or the other, but than I rememinded them there will only be 10 PB's a day and we will all see where the AGRO Is going on. So you know that area will be sworming with others wanting to fight.
  22. Escaping Traders should get something for escaping. I know some folks will say jsut escaping is your reward, but when you sit there and escape 3 ganks in a row than you prob should get something. They get a reward for what little damage they do to you but you get nothing? I don't want any gold, but a little xp bonus for gettin away would be nice. Nothing that could be called game breaking or used to exploit, but something would be nice. Also we should exit the battles at the point you escaped to not where you started. This will stop the gank camping after being tagged. Cause folks just sit on the spot that some one was tagged at and they hit them again. Now say I ran down a coast line and you can see the ports as you battle and I run and escape at another port point that is where I should apear on the OW not back at the port I was tagged at.
