  1. Yep Herniated disc between my L4-5 I been living with for almost 20 years. I was mid 20's the first time i hurt my back and late 20's early 30's the second time. All I can say folks is never screw with your back. I can live a decent active life (I'm a Hydralic Mechanic by trade for offshore equipment), but man when it flares up I'm not the best person to be around at all as I don't take meds for the most part (never been a pill popper). Doom hope you get better man. My uncle had his neck done many years ago and I know it took a long time for him to heal properly and than he still had to go in and have it redone many years again. Than again that is better than ending up paralyses from neck down the rest of his life if they didn't fix it. Just take your time and listen to those Docs, some times they actually know what they be talking about. SOME TIMES. Though agree we need this patch to hurry up. I just flat out stopped logging in other than to burn labor hours cause it's so dead. I checked BLACK ts last night around prime time to see if I need to log in and there was no one online. Yah we all pretty much taking a break until the patch. Hay at least the US and Brits are getting all the empty dots they seem to love. Bet they think they are so proud and winning or something. I'll prob log in a bit this weekend. If I sink any one I'll do it in your name....."THIS IS FOR DOOM." Just to confuse them....lol
  2. Great post and it's true we are here testing this game here and should understand that. Now can we get back to the topic of the Patch. Any updated ETA of how it's going? I think a lot of folks rae taking breaks until it comes out and would just likea closer window if any to make plans. I all ready slowed down on logging in other than to do Econ myself and it seems lik=e it's getting deader and deader in game cause of folks doing the same. Luckly I got other games doing a great job distracting me right now.
  3. And why exactly would it be a gank fest? Sounds like some one needs to level in a better area than in the enemy's zones? You can still go out and tag ships and grind other ways. There is that lovely ROE in the Newbie zone too. Exactly they don't have to go get power level with the big boys and that is what I think most of the complainers aren't liking they can't just take their 1st rate out and grind fleets to get money and level others. How many times have we heard folks comlain that all the first rates where back at the capital doing missions while a Regional Port battle was going on? Now they have to chance those big boys in some real risk battles. It's going to be fun hunting them. Makes them more rae in battles cause they won't be wanting to bring those ships out of the safe zones. I'm a pirate on the US server and I'm going to bet any ganking we done your complaing about was done in front of a capital and all your big boys just sat inside or went some where else instead of coming out and stopping us from hitting your new players. With the new system it will have ROE and level caps for the BR in the area meant for them. You want to know the best way from stopping a higher level player from pickign on your lowbies? GO OUT THERE AN FIGHT THEM YOUR SELF AND STOP THEM. I love going out and hunting baby seal clubbers. I know i'm not the only one. Most of those guys that only do this and run from any other fight are pretty bad players (reason they have to have 2 AI's in there fleets and they only sail fast ships to run in.) To be honest I seen way more Nationals ganking than I have seen pirates. Going have to do it again today...yah what this guys just said. I think a lot of you are getting all worked up without even actually knowing the mechanics yet. Hell I thought there would be more than one type of missions myself.
  4. Thanks for clearing that up cause by the way I read it ya'll made it sound like there was going to be more than one mission types. Not counting the trader missions. Doesn't matter for guys like me cause I don't grind fleets to make my money or cheaply power level. Either way they still have to pick those misisons and they have the optoin to make money/rank other ways.
  5. Are what I died the other day playing around on the other servers and dind't have any where close to max crew for my level. Put them perks on and get some discounts. I make Large Medkits anyway to bring the cost of crew down after some big battles and if I'm board fit I keep Doctor on to have the crew. At those levels it can get a little expensive replacing them crews.
  6. I was about to say from my experience in the Navy and than working off shore that is a prime example of what we call DEAD CALM. No waves or wind and if you don't have power to your boat your screwed.
  7. Well it's getting up to the 10-15 days from announcement. So might be time for a small update.
  8. What part of HOSTILITY MISSIONS will stay open do you not understand. It's only the missions to create hostility in that region.
  9. Don't make crap in empty port battles either. Though if you get some good PvP or full port battles you can make a lot. I remember while back I was the first sunk in my Merc in a PB, but I got 2 kills and 4 assist. I think I made over 150K credits and 1.5K xp in a shallow water PB. It was cause before I died I did a lot of damage and spread it out. The best way to get the max credit and xp is not the max kills you want to go for max assist. If your doing fleets don't stay on one ship only until it sinks. Get over 10% damage on it or more and than move to the next one. This will help the AI and other players sink that ship and will get you max XP and credits from the battles. I can't remember how much he made, but my alt had made a level an half in a PvP fight where all he did was help keep the sails down on a 2nd rate (bucc) while the others in the fight caught up with it and than did the rest. I couldn't pen it in my Rattler, but I did what I could to help the team. So for the new guys remember you can make a lot of xp and even credits by helping the other guys play parts you can do. Just like in Deep and Regional battles the Mortar Brig is a great way for the new guy to get into the fight even though he can't crew a SOL or even heavy frigate yet. Even if you come in something like a Belle Poule or Essex put your self ot use protecting the other Mortar brigs, keeping other lighter frigats off the sterns of the SOL's and taking out sails. This goes for PvP and even the PvE battles. If you are doing fleet missions and you see AI boarding each other after it clears go toss 2 crew on that ship and send it escaping. If it's a SOL you get paid for it, if it's anythign else you got a new ship and can break it down (if it was boreded by another player ask them if they mind if you recapp it). If it's another player ship go in there and cap it back. There been lots of time we lost ships to a board and they didn't put crew on it only to have us go back and jump onto that ship when we wehre sinking or to claim it at the end of the battle so while we might of got a first rate capped, but we got it back at the end of a fight. So help out where you can and don't be afraid to just ask.
  10. 1. Poor variety of loot. It's so much not fun to end the battle and get a grey mod. Where is Junk loot (rings, goblets, necklaces,,,)? Make leveling fun and rewarding. Make game more interesting. (Going to repeat this one cause it's one of my biggest complaints lately cause getting Grey mods in a Curse mission or Regional Port battle is just stupid.) 2. Officers should be tied to the ships not just one. That way you can have builds for each ship and don't have to constantly change the officer. He dies when the last dura is sunk on that ship. This will make a more season ship have better perks as the officer and crew are more familiar with that ship than say a grew crew and officer on a new ship. I think all mods should be perm once you leave a port for ships too for the same reason that it makes the ship more different than others. 3. Exiting battle in the same spot it started even though you had run in battle to the next port or two along a coast line. This would actually kill a lot of the ganking after battle screen stuff cause folks can't just camp a cross sword spot. Yah some one can say we are around this spot, but they honestly won't know the exact spot. I think the locked battles system with two circles is kinda going to fix this. I think it's unreal that some one can get hit and than have half a fleet waiting for them out side that was a days sail from the battle. To be honest after an hour and half if you didn't get them than just give up and let them go. I spent over 3 hours in battles back to back escaping bad tags and constant gank hits until I just said screw it and logged out in battle screen and went to make dinner. If I got away three times than you aren't prob going to catch me. They do this so that you run out or repair or crew or finally back up of a fast enough ship shows up that can catch you. That ship would of been hours if not days away and would never of made it there in time in the first place. With this escapeing should not be easy. Area control should be part of the game mechanic not a perk. I had an LVG escape I was moving to his side to board when I had him down to 40% sails and 27 crew. He was literally right next to me and I was about to hit G. Coward perk I can see if he's in the distance but if they are in a arms reach they should not magically escape.
  11. You talking about the guys that talk the most smack and think they know every thing. Every nation has them. Than you watch them totally fail in a fight and want to say, "I TOLD YOU SO." Though you know they still won't listen. Than you get the guys that want to learn and do. Those are the guys you got to worry about later. My biggest pep pee is when you keep seeing some one take out a ship under crew and than get sunk and complain about it even though you keep telling them to stop under crewing ships and stay in your level rang and learn.
  12. I think it's more they forget what they had loaded early. Kinda like how some folks get tunnel vision and will shoot the ship next to them not knowing it's a green player. I get chaining some one down to make them loose sails so they don't run or even more waist that repair, but some times doing it first in a battle means you are half sunk by time you get close and swtich to ball shot. Specially if the other guys are doing focus fire and leak count on you. I think what your talking about is kind in the game. You switch laods in mid it's faster than starting from scratch with empty guns still and I think this is what it takes into account.
  13. With the time table of 10-15 days putting the patch hopefully coming the 15-20 is there any ETA of when it might come? I know ya'll will give us an update, but is this window looking more and more real? I know a lot of us players are taking breaks and waiting on the patch. I'm truely hopeing it's more the 15th of the month (three days from now) cause a lot of us are ready for these new changes and to test them out.
  14. Yah I think all mods should pretty much be perm to a ship this way. They go with the ship when it gets captured too and if you want to change and refit the ship you have to destroy the ones on them and refit with the new mod. This would work with 1 dura ships or even 5 dura ships. I still don't think 1 dura for all ships is good cause I remember those days when I was a very bad new player and sunk all the time. Luckly most of them was in that free basic cutter, but I did loose a few ships early on to just AI. Lucky the traders I lost where all capture traders so no skin off my back until I thought of the cargo that I scratched up from all over the place to build my first big ship or have some one do it. Than get set back weeks cause I did something that got me caught and captured. The dura thing I think could be helped that when you get sunk with one of those ships it sends it back to the capital so you aren't right there with your ship to get back into the battle. It's like you bought 5 ships not just one and your going back to recrew one of those other ships at your capital where it should show up after you sink. HOLY CRAP THAT IS TWICE TODAY....did hell freeze over cause I was just saying this in another post...lol
  15. Yep going to be clubbing a lot of baby seal clubbers that can't fight some one there own level so they have to go get noobies. I mean we are talking about the same guys that shoot water and sail shot into your boad side and than wonder why they sink before they get our sails down to 60 (before repairs). Uh cause I been putting holes into that lovely water line. It will work the same with the ROE's for that zone if not better. Would be a nice change on some nights than the big ships and such.
  16. Yah I think it's funny that if you go look at all the Nations Capitals the two largest nations has all there products marked up insanely high, but if you go look at all the little guys they have decent mark ups. You think the largest would have all the resources at hand to make things cheaper. Which they do and makes there mark up on PvP2 even more insane. All they are doing is hurting there own players and new folks by having things so expensive. It's not like we can't get the money other ways by either grinding missions, PvP/PB's (where I get most of my money) and things like Comp Wood/Tobacco/Sugar.
  17. When the new patch comes out Subdry will get the Free Port switched to Saint Mary as it's on the edge of the region.
  18. Oh don't give me that labor hour cost BS. I do all my production myself and the cost is very much close to what it says there cause I DON'T PAY INFLATED PRICES. It's only the lazy crafters that do and jack up there prices. I even had some one buy a ship I put at 50% mark up and than posted it for 400% market up. LABOR IS NOT WORTH OVER 100% MARK UP. I seen folks sale notes for the cost of the ships it takes to build with them and that is just stupid. Labor hours is a time sink and should not be the majority of the cost of a product. As for the Heavy Rattler I can understand it and other rare ships getting really high mark up, but hay that is what happens when you only let a few folks get certain OP BP and no one else can get them. We are all ready seeing an issue with some of those crafters not logging in and supplying those ships. While other nations are pumping them out like crazy for there guys.
  19. I can read it better than exceptional, The color is fine unless maybe you guys might be color blind? To be exact the wording of the type of mod is harder to see on exceptional if any thing.
  20. Mods do need to be reworked big time and prob become more perm for a ship if they went to a 1 dura system for all ships. As for folks that run in battles. Seen it way to many times where one ship gets sunk and suddenly every one runs and tries to escape. Even though they had prob twice the number of ships in the port battles and towers on their side. Not going to admit it, but there is a reason we target certain folks in battles (like leaders). And have you seen the prices in Nationals capitals for there ships? They make them marked up way to high for the cost if you built every thing yourself and than folks can't afford ships to replace the ones they lost. Just go to Naval Action Crafting and compare the build cost (at flat rate) to what folks try to sale the ships in Capitals. I have suggested it before a surrender system that allows a trader to give the option to surrender and live. I can turn him down but he can give me the option of say all his cargo, 1/2 or 1/4. That way I can only take what I want and let him and his crew live. This is why I also think that capture ships should be run by a prize crew and can't be just telported back to your outpost. You have to actually sail them back to an out post to claim them and keep them. This will give crews chance to capture back ships too. Say the BRITS loose a trader to Doom and than he's taking his prize back cause he didn't take the offer of the cargo and did a complete capture. Well Brit navy guys see him towing a Trader (will need the fleet cargo system to work) and they notice it's a brit Trader he has in tow/in his fleet. He has less crew cause some are on the prize ship. Well he can cut his lost and run or he can send the prize crew to run while he fights the Navy guys. He might get away or even gets more prize from the Navy ship he captures too. Or both ships get back into the hands of the Navy or sunk. Would make more options in OW PvP for sure. One of the better options I seen so far and couold be a good start doing it in baby steps than just change every thing to 1 dura. I think the smaller ships need a few cause it's so easy to make mistakes and get sunk in the smaller ships when your first starting out. To add with it let ships like Pirate Frigate be refits. You have a capture Frigate and you turn it into your local ship crafter and he can convert it over to a 1 dura pirate frigate of the same level of ship as the capture ship was. So if it was an Exceptional Live Oak Planking Stiffness it will be the same but a Pirate Frigate with structure, guns and crew adjusted. Maybe add a few more ships like this that are cross variation of trader or smaller frigates that the pirates would refit and bang you have our replacement for SOL's. Than any SOL's we want we just have to capture. Yah I know a lot of pirates want to be able to craft them and be in only them, but hay that isn't how pirates worked. Rare SPECIAL ships can still be 1 dura rewards for players that get them. This keeps them from being OP and makes them more rare and special. Though other scan get them if they are capped from you. So you want to keep them from getting captured, but others still have that chance to get them from you this way.
  21. I think you sum it up pretty well except many of the guys that fight all the time don't sink that often so we don't go through ships like crazy. So for some it's going to hurt them and for others it won't bother them at all. The problem is when they average or casual player use nothing but grey ships cause they are scared to lose there good ships. It's seen a lot in Port Battles. Regional where folks that have the numbers don't bring big rates and than end up out gun even though they had the numbers or they bring a bunch of grey unmodded ships and wonder why the smaller more skilled group that is out number beats them. I'm all for the one dura ships for testing as long as they make changes to mods so that you can make them and not go broke. It's a good thing I been saving a lot of those blue/green mods I gotten that I don't put on ships. They will be going on these new ships for testing. Personally I think all mods should be perm as it's basicly like that one ship is custom made a certain way and can't just be switched from a Combat fit to a Board fit with a few mods switched around. If your going to make a troop carrying board ship it should be that and nothing else. But hay lets wait for the changes and see just what comes from them.
  22. Actually giving your own experience on things like basic ships is part of the discussion. Folks are all ready complaining about the one dura and the fact they might be basics. Hell that fight your talkign about the Connie I captured was a basic ship so not every one is running around in Exceptional ships with maxed out gold mods. Oh and one thing I can say about that fight is "BOOOM" Still no clue how I lived through that blast being that close to him. It was nice seeing you out in a fight too. Next time I'll try to go after you instead of the 1st rate. You know hugs and all. It's called an open discussion for a reason.
  23. Same nations? Just asking cause with no green on green you can't attack your own nation contraband traders now.
  24. Yep I have every thing moved and ready for the patch if it comes this week. Reminds me I need to get every thing out of Pitt's on one server as I believe it will no longer be the only Neutral town left but turn into a Brit Capital for that region.
