  1. Well done to the Swedish. Good job. Have the Danes overstretched do you think?
  2. Is it perhaps possible to implement a mechanic where which ever player has inflicted the most amount of damage to an enemy ship is the only one able to capture it. Perhaps there can be an option where he makes it available for every one if he/ she wishes. I'm sure there are some set backs to this idea but it's just a thought.
  3. Has it ever occurred to you that perhaps the ports 'taken' by SLRN from their allies, were an arrangement between allies and isn't considered a hostile take over? That what's I'd try to arrange if I were in command of a guild,
  4. A like the admiralty mission aspect because if there is naff all going on you are guaranteed some action. I apologise if it's been mentioned before but would it be possible to integrate some kind of trader mission that you can select also that might perhaps award more money than normal missions but perhaps less XP.
  5. I really want two characters in game, it's very important for me personally. I think Admiral Charles Caldwell's compromise is a very good idea.
  6. I love these propaganda/ news articles, makes the whole roleplay element of the game really come to life. Good effort sir. Well done to the RN lads, rule Britannia.
  7. Personally I think completely taking away alts is a bad idea. Limiting features on a secondary character I could understand. But doing away with alts unless you buy a second copy would be a massive let down for me. The game is amazing, and I commend the devs for their very hard work. But I wouldn't pay twice for it, just to get an alt character.
  8. If you say so. That's easily fixed, you'd just have to nominate which one of your characters to have the crafting feature available on.
  9. Really? I hope not, I have created a french alt for diplomatic reasons and as an aid for my learning French. This will ruin that for me.
  10. I've also had this happen, thought it was just my crappy computer.
  11. i understand the frustration of the USN and its predicament in regards to numbers... It would seem the numbers in game are like the history of the time... I believe at its height in the napoleonic wars (including the war of 1812) the Royal Navy had over 500 ships and I believe around 200 of those were sols. Forgive me if the figures are incorrect. I think a large coalition of enemies would struggle to muster that many. I do feel though that although banter and role play news articles are well and good! I can't help but feel that there is a bitter undercurrent that we shouldn't let get out of control, it'll just spoil a good community and so close to EA.
  12. About that time then chaps... Righto. May all be at their best whomever is caught up in the fighting and good luck.
  13. Yeah I see what you're saying about the permanent thing, it was quite noddy to suggest that.
  14. I have some small ideas, I apologise if they've been thrown out before. I understand the current way of upgrading your ship is to use the various upgrade mods and I think it is a fine concept. My suggestion is thus. Would it be a possible to implement the ability to "upgrade" a ship in a way that you add mod slots both permanent and non permanent. It would be like refitting a ship in dry dock. It would allow captains to get a basic ship and spending time and gold and maybe even needing a certain amount of XP you could add an upgrade slot on your ship to allow more mods. It might mean that players spend more time with their ships. I foresee a time in the future when there will be hundreds/thousands of players strutting about sailing 1st rates etc with no real reason to better themself, implementing what I have suggested may give players good reason to spend longer on smaller rates because they've put time and effort into that ship. Of course you'd have to have rules with it such as the cost per upgrade increasing in price every time and upgrades slots on the heavier rates costing a heap more. It could be something added onto the crafting side of the game where instead of building a whole new ship they could use crafting notes gold and hours adding upgrade slots to already built ships. My other suggestion is a smaller more insignificant one, with such a 'dry dock' concept would it not be possible to pay a price in order to get permanent mods removed from your ship so as to allow using it again. I know its called permanent for a reason but in reality if you were scrapping a ship that had an awesome optimised rudder would it not be recycled, or is it not possible? Just a thought
  15. Not sure if it's been mentioned but I was thinking about maybe captains gaining a small amount of XP per day spent at sea, some relatively small like 100XP per day for example, might encourage people to do longer voyages.
  16. Maybe not seeing the captain, but certainly seeing what ships are there because in reality entering a port you'd see the shipping laying up
  17. I've searched but couldn't find if it has been mentioned. But the ability to load mixed double shot would be nice. Grape on top of ball, stuff like that and maybe towing allies if necessary. I apologise of these have been mentioned.
  18. I try to name each ship differently. My first name was Petit Jerbourg, after a place near where i lived in Guernsey. At the moment im using Thunder child after the RN ship that sacrifices itself in an all or nothing battle against the Martians in H.G Wells' novel The War of the Worlds
  19. Perhaps, whilst in a Port or even open world having an option for entering a 'battle' with only yourself present so you could practice sailing, and maybe something like the ability to deploy a buoy or something to practice gunnery.
