>>>v1.5 Feedback<<<(Latest version: v1.5.1.4 Optx2)

Recommended Posts

I am currently enjoying some of the new hulls and game features in a japanese campaign. The sluggish research is now gone, land battles seem more balanced and sea battles are more challenging and pop up frequently.

Good job, thank you :)

There is one issue, however, that I find really, really annoying. I am losing many ships to torpedoes. So what, you say, learn to evade. Yeah, that's what I thought at first. Buuut...they are my own torpedoes. Ships equipped with those happily blast away with them once an enemy is in range, regardless if my own vessels are in the way. I have recently lost a complete escort line of four modern destroyers due to being torpedoed by my own ships. The destroyers were not maneuvering and the weapons were set on "save". That happens with annoying frequency and even the enemy is not immune to that. In a recent battle, Germany lost a heavy cruiser to their own torpedoes.

@Nick Thomadis

Game exploit issue.

rVcDuWG.jpeg

If sailing in reverse, the AI will aim the torpedo forward.

Map issue.

UBV6PVE.jpeg

Portuguese Guinea being attacked from two provinces that don't share any land borders.

AI auto design issue.

Sometimes, the AI, will add more deck armor to the bow and stern, leaving the main deck with almost with no armor. The priority should always be the main deck.

If possible to give us modders the possibility to edit the AI targeting logic that would be much appreciated, or at least stop them going nuts every time they see a small ship to kill, even if that target is 20km away when there are powerful enemies at 5km away. To focus more on what is close to them, and not the ship type.

I remembered that during some patches of 1.4.X.X the AI always change their targets and that made them very weak, for wasted so many times to aim new targets. And now they seem to prefer shoot one target until it or themselves dead.

We need a balance between these, and most important if by me, a AI ship should always try to focus its main artillery weapons to the same type enemies if possible, because this is what all the navies in histroy have done.

And thanks for your work.

Hi All,

A small point, but one that I think would be good to add.

I accidentally, scrapped some BBs by mistake (I meant to scrap older ones, but my finger slipped). As BBs take such a long time to build, I was rather gutted that this does not appear to be reversable.

Is there any chance of adding a function that allows reversing. After all, in real life, if a ship was taken to the scrapped yard and the relevant admiralty decided to change their mind, it could be reversed and after a time, rebuilt.

I'd appreciate any feed back.

  • Nick Thomadis changed the title to >>>v1.5 Feedback<<<(Latest version: v1.5.0.7 Opt)

Uploaded  optimized version including the following:
- Further optimizations in targeting/division/AI logic. The battle fps performance should be the fastest ever for the game.
- Fixed issue that could cause ships to make zig-zag movement trying to follow the formation. This issue could happen sometimes depending on size and inertia of ships and their distance between them.
- Reduced mothball cost. "Low Crew state" should be not more proftiable now.
Please restart Steam to receive the update properly

Whatever nerfing of naval prestige that's happened since 1.5 was released seriously needs to be reversed. In my last 5 attempts to get a campaign off the ground I've had to endure watching prestigue tank repeatedly with zero opportunity to do anything to lift it back up again. It's bad enough trying to build a fleet with the naval budget nerfed to the point where even building ships two at a time causes bankrupsy, causing yet more prestige drop, but watching prestige fall off the cliff while I'm not building anything, much less daring to even think about using politics to instigate some form of fleet engagement is insufferable. Five attempts and I can't get more than 10 years into a campaign is crazy.

When at war against a major power, the minor allies of those powers should be legitimate targets for naval invasions.  For example, if Colombia is allied with Spain and you are at war with Spain, you should be able to directly use a Naval Invasion against Colombia's territory.

how exactly are you supposed to build up a fleet in 1.5.0.7 when the basics of even major powers economy have been nerfed to the point where even trying to build ships for export has me constantly blowing the naval budget, incurring penalty in the form of lost naval prestige every time the navy budget needs to be raised. That lost prestige can only be replaced by combat wins, IF the AI eventually gets around to allowing such things to happen. For the game to be successful, it needs to be playable; building even a half decent fleet needs a half decent budget to work with, NOT a budget so damned tight that you don't have the funds to replace a single lost destroyer, much less try to keep pace with the rate merchant shipping is now being sunk. As things stand, with the current rev, the long-term campaign part of the game is totally unplayable.

Hi, thanks for the patch.

Could you guys please fix this? this shouldn't be able to turn 360, right?

If the turret has enough room around it they’ll turn 360. That’s not weird?

If you look closely you will see that the turret model is clipping into the tower model.  @Dante S. Lancaster is implying that the game should not allow this and thus the turret should not be able to turn 360 degrees like that.

Hi, guys! Thanks a lot for update. But torpedoes problem is still here. Al never coming closer to launch them. And this happens on a ships of any class.

Do not use "save". Instead use "off" and only use them when you know it is safe for your ships.

"Save" feature is not related to your ships position in the battlefield.

Hello Admirals,

We have improved the game with the following:

v1.5.0.8
https://steamcommunity.com/games/1069660/announcements/detail/4221636425812960586

Question about battle FPS:

Despite the patch notes indicating regular performance enhancements, it's been getting steadily worse for me since 1.3, even with graphics turned all the way down. (And the number of hulls that reduces the game to a slideshow has been dropping too).

Since there's both a lot of graphics enhancements in that timeframe, as well as numerous AI and battle changes, I'm wondering whether you consider GPU or CPU to be the primary bottleneck? And what sorts of specs your dev systems have when you're testing?

Thanks.

image.thumb.jpeg.af1dcb160e1ed472d5d6c852b8808dcb.jpegHi, @Nick Thomadis, please consider to fix this. Many thx.

This does not look like a ship of the game. You play a modified version probably? In any case, we checked and this secondary tower, that is used in another ship, does not have this problem. As said many times, please, do not report bugs here, especially such kind of model issues, when you use a modified version of the game.

Nevertheless, thank you for the report. We will check if the turret model may have a collider issue.

EDIT:

The turrets work fine too. This issue may happen when something in the game does not work as intended during gameplay or when there is a code exception. Freezing of ships will most iikely happen in the next seconds. But again, we cannot reproduce ourselves in order to fix this particular issue.

  • Nick Thomadis changed the title to >>>v1.5 Feedback<<<(Latest version: v1.5.0.8 Opt)

Uploaded optimized version including the following:
- Fixed minor UI issue: It was not updating fast enough when switching  to another division.
- Further fix for a possible ship freezing prior to starting a battle. Please advise if you still get such a problem, only in unmodified versions of the game.
- Further auto-design optimization to be faster and even more effective.
Please restart Steam to receive the update. If Steam updates during gameplay, you will get random freezes in the game.
