Ned Loe
I finally was able to find plans for my favorite ship. Enjoy! HMS Mordaunt 1681 HMS Mordaunt was a 46-gun fourth rate ship of the line of the English Royal Navy, launched at Deptford in 1681. She had been privately built, and was purchased into the navy in 1683. She has been the only ship of the Navy to be named Mordaunt, after the surname of numerous holders of the title of the Earl of Peterborough. She was commanded from 4 September 1688 by John Tyrell, and on 4 October 1689 she was part of a fleet that fought an engagement with 12 French warships. Mordaunt became stranded in 1693, and was lost. Ship Plans in tif format available on request Edited February 7, 2017 by Ned Loe
_Masterviolin
She's like a mini Bellona! Intresting how she has only four more guns than the Constitution yet has two gun decks. Probably the 100-200 year diff in designs, but it seems small. Cool design!
Alex Connor
Ship itself is very small, smaller than any of the frigates we have ingame (even Surprise).

Alex Connor
http://threedecks.org/index.php?display_type=show_ship&id=5458 Surprise is 129ft on the gundeck, Mordaunt only 122ft 6in. There was a big change in ship sizes between the late 1600s when Mordaunt was built and the Napoleonic era.

Austrum
Might make a good premium ship at that. Depending on the model and just what a premium ship actually does for you in game.

Austrum
Just a unique look. All ships will be balanced the same I think. Wasn't talking about balancing actually was talking more along the lines of any special non-balance related bonuses which is why I say depending on how the game is designed. If they are going to make the current Sea Trials like WoTs, then bonuses to XP earned and/or lower repair costs kind of like premium tanks. Maybe for open world, it would be a reusable blueprint you buy for cash that lets you construct a the premium ships much cheaper using less materials, something like that. Premium ships that aren't offering any bonuses.... not sure how well they would sell, especially for open world use, unless they were very, very cheap, especially since as soon as the enemy sinks it once, it is gone. Austrum
Is it in yet? Unfortunately no but I think it would be a great addition, maybe even as a premium. It is a 4th rate in gun count but rather weakly armed with only 12lb and 8lb guns. Love the styling and beauty of this ship though and would definitely be interested in sailing her at some point. Ned Loe
It will be included in the next ship vote.

If you are prepared to sail something similar to the Mordaunt rather than the Mordaunt itself... At the time Mordaunt was built the Royal Navy were building 40 gun 5th rates armed with 12lb/6lb gundecks and 50 gun 4th rates armed with 18lb/9lb gundecks. Privately build and designed for 46 guns Mordaunt was in between these two types and only carrying the calibers of a 5th rate. So it would probably be possible to find a 50 gun 4th rate that would look very similar to the Mordaunt but being a little larger (around 130-135ft length) and more powerfully armed would be combat viable against most frigates, at the same time due to the smaller size (frigates are very large and expensive ships for the firepower carried) and age such a ship would be cheap, and could be useful in the convoy escort role or comparable duties where speed isn't the most important factor. Jeremiah O'Brien
The Mordaunt would make a perfect premium ship. She has beauty and style, without an overpowering amount of guns.
