The Fundamentalist
The Great War at Sea by Norman Friedman seems to be excellent, as is Jutland, the Unfinished Battle by Nicholas Jellicoe. Ian Toll's unfinished trilogy on the war in the Pacific is also an excellent reference for the broad nature of strategic naval warfare

Cptbarney
Very intersting read on pre-dreadnought engines leading on to turbine engines which were also used back in the pre-dread days and first made around thousands of years ago, but modern versions combining both principles. https://www.shippingwondersoftheworld.com/compound_engines.html https://www.shippingwondersoftheworld.com/steam-turbine-engines.html
Captain Basilone
One that might be a bit off topic. Sea Power in The Pacific by Hector C. Bywater. He get off into politicking a bit but his book was written in the 20s and was his look at the current Japanese and American navies and how he predicted they would clash. He uses the British navy as a yardstick and the pdf version I got from Internet Archive includes maps and sketches of vessels from both navies.
