DLC ship flaw

Recommended Posts

hi captains and defs

yesterday i had a separate fight with 2 dlc ship

when after a intense fight i saw that the ship when almost destroyed   >> surrendered

for me as a defender, investing time to fight those ships i ended up with nothing .(you can not sink, it just game over)

i would recommend that dlc whips can not surrender anymore.

or only if approved by the other party, and if  agreed it should hand over his cargo and a huge amount of dubloons (because it is not possible to grab the ship)

or only surrendering in the first minute of the fight.

i consider this a cheat and a flaw in the dlc system.

this needs to be addressed.

the same goes for basic cutter who just drag you in battle to keep you out of a other ow fight and surrenders with a big smile (denial of victory)

when you surrender it must cost you dubloons..it can not be so the system allows you to make advantage of the system and you can get away with it...

you have to pay (personally Dubloons lets say 1000 dubs) for your actions.

and ship.

DLC ships yield doubloons when sunk, same as any other ship.

If they have modules, also a random one will be available to be looted.

On top of that they also count towards PvP Hunt and rates Hunt missions.

also count s pvp hunt we only can hunt 1 rate 2 rate and 3 rate which our nation can not even sink atm

the captain is not stupid he sails in a direction where we can not loot , also its game over

ever bin in a situation where they surrendered

may i ask what you got from it ?

??? this is not correct.

There's missions for all rates in many many many different ports.

Fill up your Journal with hunt and pvp hunt missions as you sail along and visit ports.

Game over......what is there to sink?

you just park next to the ship that surrendered, press inspect [X], and hit the "sink" button

you cant capture DLC ships but can still sink them after surrendered as any other ship

ha thank you

my journal is filled with economy (that's what you get in a simple slot system)

you dont need to keep the economy mission once you took the cargo

you can deliver the cargo / passenger by right clicking it in the destination port and pressing "deliver". no need to do it by the journal

can therefore delete the eco missions once taken.

True

throw the administration overboard  (also a flaw)

Ah ! Thanks for pointing this out. Definitely a major flaw 😮

( I pay fines in Elite for failing or dropping missions, usually passengers as well - the mission and item disappears of course. And sometimes they are actually part of the lore and my ship gets hunted by opposing forces to murder the poor fellow )

They know about this as it was pointed out during testing, but the issue is that if the missions cannot be delivered without having the quest then it would be pointless to capture ships that were doing these missions as you would not be able to deliver the missions.

Yes, also that :)

Maybe it gets changed, maybe not.

In any case the DLC ships offer ample opportunity for both parties - easy casual ship and also can be looted and sunk for mission head count.

a simple but genius solution for surrendering would be :

when surrendering it cost you 1000 dubloons whatever ship you surrender

if you don't have the dubloons you can not surrender eighter.

"The admiralty must be payed for you loss"

now the Admiralty gets a face indeed.

Careful what you wish for...

... it might hit you in the face, very very hard.

In other words... look to what you suggest from both sides on average.

If you do any damage to the ship you get credit for it's kill.  None capture ships are auto scuttle when battle is over and all leave.  This is why we get a report after the last person leaves the battle.   As long as you did some damage to the ship before they surrender than you still gain points.

If your having a problem with them going up wind than bring your own ships that can do the same.   At least one guy can go and claim them that way.

Yes. Please lets not do that....

Surrender, capture, sinking. They are working as intended. I don't see the problem here.
