I can ask because I work near the museum - But still I can only ask, we will see what might happen

+1. Yes, do it. As long as ship plans are within game timeframe (1680-1820), it'd be great to have a "german" ship in game.

Of course.

Not because they are "Russian", but only as there is no corresponding faction.

For me, it is an immersion breaker.

Others don´t mind, they are more "ship technology orientated".

Being able to sail all kinds of ships in NA whatever their nationality and because of their different nationalities is really fun.

Lots of Age of Sail captains sailed captured ships. In game,e. g., HMS Surprise is a French captured ship.

I know there are some "faction-oriented" captains who would like to sail only ships from their faction. Not for me.

I think that someone has said before that the plans are purchasable from the museum. Anyway best of luck with your little adventure

That´s the point. "Sailed captured ships".

ALL ships to all is an immersion breaker for me, too. (I made a poll on it and I am in minority on this point)

By the way, AI-bots of Great Britain passing by MT-Pirate Capital with no consequences

is an immersion breaker, too.

I'm all for seeing her ingame.  If we only had "important ships" in the game, we'd see major representation by most major naval powers and none by other sea-going nations that lacked such fame.  I am hoping the devs will buck this idea.

A shame that there aren't many ships to mention in those centuries from the german states, but at least the Wapen von Hamburg was a nice ship. I'd dream to see her in the game - one will suffice there don't have to be all four variants ;) The first three were convoi ships and the fourth a frigate.

Good Post, You should read my post about the history of German Colonies in the Caribbean. I put a link to your post on mine, I hope that's ok with you.  :)
