The document arrived from Stockholm this morning, only a few weeks after the New King CARL XIII Succeded the former King Gustavus IV Adoulphus, that was removed from the Swedish throne and exiled from the country. was last seen on a ship heading for the Danish capital Copenhagen. After being striped from his royalness, he will from now and afte be refered as Gustav Adolf Gustavsson. All officers will be given a oppertunity to either resign and leave the country or stay at their post/command. The Govenor Carl von Åkerbråk has given me special instructions to repeat the last scentences in the Letter of Marque about the Privateers , translating it to English, German and Latin (As the king refuses to speak french, latin will have to do).. He has also intructed me to use the new translaton-office in Gustavi: The "Glasögon & son" company, (located nearby the Church). "They have in their service as privateer the commando as the rest of the commanding officers in our naval forces on our own Ships and vessels. As it is in all who it may concern, to honour them and obey them and also if any one against this should break, be subject to His Majestys laws of the sea, as they the year of 1685 was dictated with all its contains" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Sie haben ihren Dienst als Privatier das Kommando, wie der Rest der Kommandeure in unserer Seestreitkräfte auf unsere eigenen Schiffe und Fahrzeuge gesetzt. (Carl XIII imitating Carl XII signatur is very likely, as he was totaly obsessed with him and was often seen by servants Walking around in Carl XII uniform during night, when he though all was sleeping and noone could see him.) 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
