PvP1 Sweden at war with the Dutch

It was a fun war :)

Please, pretty please keep it going? I cannot imagine another 2 weeks of peace with nothing to do, you guys are really doing the Dutch a huge favor by forcing us to re-think the organization and strategy.

Besides the (very) few bad apples, this whole shenanigan so far has been a pleasant experience (well, I didn't stay up for the night battles, so some may disagree with me here), and I personally got to meet some extremely nice people from your nation. And, perhaps, after some more time fighting each other and getting better, we can all set aside our difference and go kick the real enemy down together, who knows?

To have fun (in a game, at least) is the #1 priority, so let's have that, even if some of us go "blub blub blub" all the time  :P

Err, what?!? I think you mixed up me with someone else. I havent posted in this topic for a while  ^_^

But when Im here anyway, let me say something :P

Why we lost Macanao so decisively yesterday was because of reason beyond our control. I think you know just as good as me that between two evenly matched fleets the defender win 99,99% of the time because of stupid game mechanics, unless shit happens. We had several PB ships (Many 1st and 2nd rates) being dragged into combat just outside the port by one of our own (KF) in a god damn cutter (dont ask ...). Inside the battle we had a rank 2 guy in a Constitution ramming our entire fleet sinking himself, preventing us from getting a good position early. When the guys who got locked in combat outside finally enter the battle they spawn in the middle of you guys and get shot to pieces of course.

I must congratulate the Dutch for their offensive the last couple of days. Well played.

Yea i wana replay to Abuu, but it could be also to you.

You need to outnumber us 10:1 and even bring in French clans to push us back  :D

When we bring French clans to push you back ? We didn't even talk with them about you... And about outnumber you 10:1 You know that befeore decide to come here. So now please do not use this as argument. Thanks for the good game and see you in next battle :)

Gentlemen do enjoy the game for what it is and cut with the flame.

There are too many facts to even start pointing fingers from both sides of the fence and even from the onlookers.

It will only stop until the gates of Gustavia or the bay of Willemstad are under siege. No turning back now.

Naval Action !!!!! more fighting less talking.

...

Again..

I blame the fact that 2/3 of the players in all nations are left outside the operations given the timers which effectively only cover 1 part of the world at a time, unless we Setup alarm clocks... which is silly as hell to do for a game...

If you set timers for EU you disregard your AUS NZ and USA / CAN regions. If you Setup USA CAN timers you disregard the other... etc

We have a problem. All Nations have this issue.

It must be solved without resorting only to our own individual comfort but to the NATION as whole.

Game is not based in clan/corporation level. It is based on NATION community level. Deal with it.

Ah, that was what happened at first. We were speculating that it was a wrong tag from you guys or you miss-clicked on joining the open world battle instead of the Port Battle somehow. Oh, and I won't ask.  ;)

I am just wanting to clear this up slightly as I was one of the dutch ships in this engagement.

From the start there were 2 Victories and a Pavel with some other lower ships I think totalling 5/6 including the cutter. At this point we were suprised that such large ships were in the battle so planned on TS to keep you tagged as long as possible. After this we were not wanting to get anymore ships in as we wanted them outside to continue screening, when suddenly a santi and another victory joined so we got as many people in as we could since there were very few left outside and we noticed many more 1st and second rates joining I think totalling around 6 or so 1 st rates and 2/3 2nd rates with a few 3rd rates with a total force of around 15 or more ships on the swedish side.

Due to how this occurred I can only see the extra ships joining due to them clicking on the wrong battle when leaving port.

I made this post just to clear up that the majority of ships in this battle on the swedish side did not get dragged in but actually joined this(can only assume mistakenly). This post is not to flame but just to make sure everyone is aware of what happened.

What really happened is that one of our own cutters pulled some of our big ships in the battle outside by accident (awesome timing or a weird bug?). The big ships were waiting for the inv. timers to end to be able to join the port battle. We needed to get those ships out of the battle so we decided to join the battle to help those guys escape. Some misunderstandings took place and we got split half and half with the port battle and the battle outside. Tooks us longer than should to get out of that battle. After that we got some really nasty spawns in the battle and lost couple of first rates really fast. But have to say that the dutch fought REALLY well in that fight. Good job guys, was an honour to fight against you!

Thats correct. Not by accident. Some of our biggest, badest ships with the most skilled captains and the port battle commander got dragged in though. We had to make a split second decision.

1. Leaving them in the external battle to fend for themselves (getting sunk) and have the rest of the reduced port battle fleet join the port battle imideatly as planned under ad hoc leadeship.

2. Sending everyone still not in the port battle, or the external battle, into the external battle to help finish it off quickly and then join the port battle late, together, everyone.

The decision had to be made quickly. You only have 2 min's to join the external battle and it takes 90sec for the cool downs after you leave the port. That gives you 30 sec's to make up your mind. Just getting to grip with the situation and communicating it over teamspeak took over 20 of those 30 seconds. The commanding officer of the day was fortunately an extremely cool Finish guy with big enough balls and calm nerves to make that decision without hesitating. He chose no.2. Resulting in some people having allready joined the port battle and the rest joining the external battle. We hoped we would get the big boys out of the accidental external battle and into the port battle in time to win the port battle. We didn't. Noone blames the commanding officer for making the decision he made. We are all fully confident in his capabilities. It might have gone another way had he made another decision. We will never know. It was an accident and we did the best we could. Not even the guy in the cutter is getting any hate. He made a misstake.

You live, you learn.

We have now evaluated the situation and improved our communication and organisation further and we are now an even more effective fighting force than before.

Aye, mistakes happen - I'm just happy that we're not fighting a dirty war, where people use alts to pull in fleets in such a manner.

To the Sweden, sorry about that attack on St George. It was done by a group of player who independantly of the council wanted to get rid of DRUNK in there. (There has been problem with them since weeks and people just couldn't take it anymore, hence the take of Basse-Terre.)

Sorry for the problem it created, hope it won't destroy our relationship.

To Dutch: it was nice to have you coming helping the group (even if it wasn't official and I was against the attack personatly.) Hope you had fun this evening like the Swedish.

Just for information, the DSL clan ganked lots of newbies and people at Fort Royal and like the DRUNK. It create frustation.

To both: since there was attack made by ROGUE clan, people are frustated and independants people really want to attack all Swedish or even Dutch player they see, so be carefull if you sails in our Territory.

I do not speak of the French council, I speak in my name only and wanted to warn you.

EVEN MORE EFFECTIVE ?!?!? Come on, give us poor merchants a $%&&ing  break ....

Ganking in a 8vs15/16/17/18 or whatever? löl

Newbies in Bellona's and Pavels? löl

Last information for us is that we don't have any alliances with France but the treaty regarding the RvR, so life with some PvP or go to the PvE Server.

"To both: since there was attack made by ROGUE clan, people are frustated and independants people really want to attack all Swedish or even Dutch player they see, so be carefull if you sails in our Territory."

One of our main problems, even a reason why we lost so much territory in the south, is that we constantly have to deal with the damage which DRUNK is doing to us.

Which includes trying to single settle a war with the Danes and the French.

When we lost the most of the ports, we captured during the war, we got also attacked by RNON (captured Codrington) and by another rogue french clan (captured Basse-Terre).
Yes your operation "The Flying Dutchman" were extremely well organised and carried out. But I just want to remind you, that a few other things had happen on the same day, which sadly forced us to split our forces and thus we were no able to defense as hard as we normaly could.

Yet, I really appreciate the war with our friends/enemys (If i can say so?) and I do have a lot of fun fighting the Dutch players.

My experience in the last weeks were mostly positive. Even though we are fighting, the most player have been nice and friendly in the combat chat.

And I really wanna say: Thank you for that!

I know, that you (the Dutch) had to deal with rogue clans earlier too, so I hope you can follow me if I say, that even only one rogue clan can do an extremely amount of damage to the nation and also to the players which just get annoyed and frustrated (and maybe even decide to take a while away from the game until the situation is nicer). But that is something for another threat i guess.

Respectfully yours,

Twig

Go say that to the poor guy in Renomee you destroyed. Yes you ganked right in the front of the Capital.

And actions were quickly take to deal with you.

Your PvP wasn't a problem, it was just something that happened and can be consequence. ;)

Unlike the DRUNKS you guys haven't done it enought with toxic behavior, so you are ok.

Just know that you are being know now. :P

Let me clarify. I'm not complaining or blaiming our loss on anything being unfair. Misshaps will occur from time to time. Sweden might still be more skilled in tactics but the dutch are superior in industrial capacity and can afford to attack again and again, waiting for the swedish fleet to have these freak occurances happen all of a sudden. And then - BAM! Swedish fleet needs to be on top our game EVEY battle to stand chance and that wont happen. As yesterdays battle showed.

hmm, we didn't sank any Renomee as far as I know. Sunk a single Bellona who got left behind by there escortships and then the battle infront of St. Pierre.

But well, we are happy looking forward to the actions and consequences against us, so maybe we visit you more often now at you Capital :)  Hopefully this action don't consist only of runaway-frogs if they don't outnumber us 5:1  ;)

Spot on! I am rather suprised, and that is a BIG compliment for you boys and girls, you are able to keep it up for so long and still remain so strong. Its like grinding down a mountain. We know it will eventually happen if we keep pushing but damn it sure takes a long time! ;):D
