  1. Well you should at least have an option to log off after being tagged once, don't you agree?
  2. It can be used in more ways than just a revenge fleet. A speed ship tags you and then runs away and waits for the rest of the fleet to catch up then tag again. You have no chance of getting away because they surround your battle. Escape once sure, but twice? Nah.. A large fleet hides behind an island or off the horizon. Then you get dragged into battle by a speed ship that has no intention to fight and he runs and escapes. Then outside is a large fleet surrounding you. Good battle close to even BR, enemy throws a few cannonballs to keep you tagged at range for about 5-10 minutes and then you realize they actually had no intention to fight and they run. Little did you know that when you get out of battle a whole fleet would be surrounding you outside without you even knowing.
  3. Here's another example. I Had another nice fight lynx and frigate vs my surprise, this was pre patch before battle screen teleport. But when I got out I had 4 more frigates + a cutter surrounding my battle waiting for me. And like AKD said, we somehow deserve it? And yes I escaped because I was close to port and just manged to escape.
  4. You think it's okay to grief players by tagging them over? And by the way, this doesn't just need to be by a capital. I've played since the day OW was released and that is a fact because all I do is PvP. Want an example? Here I'll give you one. I was outnumbered to begin with I had 5 frigates attack my Santa Cecilia, when I got out guess what? 5 More waiting for me right on my battle location. That wasn't even in enemy territory, it was in mine. If escaped, why do I now need to deal with the 5 frigates I escaped from + 5 more?
  5. We already know how bad revenge fleets are for the game, they made so many people quit. And now with the high cost of crafting and repairs, how do you expect that to go over well with the players? I thought finally we had a fix for the dreaded revenge fleets, but because a few people exploited it with AI now we are back to those same people using revenge fleets and greifing players. We badly need a fix for this. Being forced into a revenge gank for going out and looking for PvP is a good way to discourage players and those who have come back to give NA a second chance.
  6. This needs to come back, we are back in 2015 all over again. Alternative, only works when you do a PvP tag and a 30 minute cool down so you can't exploit it with AI. Invisibly never works, enemy knows you are going to sail down wind so they end up right beside you anyway. Repeat tagging makes no sense, you have escaped the battle but you need to escape it again. Major greifing is back. Also you would be able to see the revenge fleet approaching and then run, that isn't that case. 2 separate instances. Revenge fleets need to be addressed, we are back to where we were before and it's not very fun. Especially with the new prices, which I'm totally fine with, I love it. I just don't understand how it's going to work with the current revenge fleets.
  7. It doesn't take a genius to understand what was going on. That was a clear exploit and leaving would of prevented a reset, correct?
  8. I Mean if enemy has sails down and aren't shooting back then surely you would notice something is wrong?
  9. Another great and absolutely hilarious moment of mine was near Key West, one of the best spots to look for PvP! Spanish were always a very entertaining bunch to fight. Always providing me with endless entertainment. So this one time I was venturing all by myself in my 3rd rate near Key West after capping it from a player, I had switched from my Trincomalee and I'm not sure why because a very short time later I regretted it. Because within minutes of leaving the battle I spotted a Spanish dread fleet of doom on the horizon, 6 yachts and 7 basic cutters. Of course the logical thing to do is run down wind because yachts and cutters aren't very fast downwind but either is a Live Oak Extra Planking 3rd rate. This battle occurred back when 4 pound cannons could demast a 3rd rate because at the time there was no mast thickness, so any cannon could take a mast down if you threw enough cannonballs at them. And well with 6 yachts and 7 basic cutters it didn't take very long. I used my sail repairs after losing all 3 masts and shortly after I lost all my masts again. Then they stern raked me over and over, all 13 of them violating me and then eventually boarding one after the other until I had no crew left. Sadly I had no marines. This is just one of the hilarious but epic fights I've had on NA. When the player base goes up again I'm sure many more of these epic battles await.
  10. One of my most favorite moments on NA was when me and SeaWolf fought the Spanish 2v8 + AI near Key West in our 2nd rates. They chained our sails so much that we had none left. Now that is a good way to be sure of an escape.
  11. What keeps me playing is PvP. When you can find good open world PvP battles one after the other, nothing is better. NA has one of the most unique combat systems ever and it's just awesome to play the game when you have endless amounts of PvP. If PvP is easy to find, that is when NA is at it's best. I have found since hostility was added, these kind of PvP battles are hard to find. Hopefully we can bring back great PvP like old times. One of those great even battles back when flags were in game and we were battling for grand turk. 6 First rates + 1 Trinc Vs All First Rates 2015 2016 near La Habana. Surp Vs Buc near La Navasse late 2016 All different scenarios, each have a strategy to winning or escaping. When NA has easy to find PvP and various different scenarios of battles, that keeps NA interesting and fun to play.
  12. Great idea @Havelock. If this can be somehow implemented into the game, I would love to test it.
  13. I already thought there was a PVE server for fighting along side AI? Because it is just plain dumb to have controllable AI warships on a hardcore *PVP* server when we have a separate server for *PVE* type of players. Players should go there if they want to fight with their AI buddies.
  14. Doesn't make any sense at all to have controllable AI warships on a ***PVP*** server. If PvPers wanted to fight AI we would be on the PVE server. But honestly I've always found AI fleets are annoying as hell because they take up spots in battle and even if they are on your side they are clumsy AF. And no one can say they offer "protection for solo players". Remember exit to friendly port is being removed which forces everyone out to the open world into the hands of a revenge gank fleet forcing you to die, surrender or run for hours on end. The AI fleets ain't doing jack all to protect solo players.
  15. 100% This. If we are going Hardcore PvP server then remove the warships from player fleets.
  16. Well there's 3 kinds of reviews that doesn't recommend this game. 1) A Honest review that points out actual problems or certain things that the buyer doesn't like. 2) Buyers who thought the game was 100% finished because they didn't read the steam store page that states the game is in early access or have no clue what early access is. 3) Buyers who leave a dishonest review that is filled with lies and false accusations. It seems a lot of the negative reviews are upset Naval Action has no tutorial for beginners and has a steep learning curve. Also a good chunk of the negative reviews are #2 and #3.
  17. People who write those reviews kind of remind me of spoiled bratty children. If the game isn't exactly what they want it to be and they don't get the ships they want right away they go to steam reviews and leave a bull **** review filled with lies to take their anger out. Most of the time a lot of them don't read the steam store page to see what the game actually is or have a pc that can even run the game. It's painful to read some of these reviews and see the way some people act.
  18. Hunting: Surprise Ganking: N/A (Ganking Sucks ;o) Fighting Gankers: Trincomalee 4th rate Port battles: Agamemenon 1st Rate Port battles: L'Ocean
  19. Not one to argue, but this caught my eye. Speak for yourself mate, you seem a bit dramatic yourself painting all PvPers with the same brush. I know some great players who are PvPers who don't act the way you think. Maybe you just got in with the wrong group of people.
  20. 1) All ships should have 1 durability, it is totally unrealistic having 5,4,3,2 duras. 2) Battle screen revenge fleets and Battle screen camping 3) Modules and perks are too powerfull, some of them take away from skilled fighting
  21. I would like to try 5v5 or 6v6, I think 1v1 and 3v3 is a little to much and you wouldn't really be able to play with your clan or freinds.
  22. I love the picture, looks awesome! And I feel honored to be chosen as bounty of the month, I will do my best not to sink.
  23. I don't think a lot of people understand what the new port battle mechanics are going to bring to the game and why 25v25 has to change. If smaller nations cannot gain points for hostility levels then they will never get to attack ports. People need to be serious and actually read everything before shooting this down, if you are in a small nation you should most definitely be aware of this by now. By voting no you are basically saying you only want big nations to be able to collect points for port battles, making it so only they can attack ports and small nations cannot.
