  1. I could propose that upon exiting an OW (so not in PZ nor in R areas: you hunt in enemy capitols and in PZ at your own risk) PvP (so no AI tag trick) battle a loading screen with two options: A - enter OW. Just like now. Same invisibility timer or even dropping it granted the second option. B - teleport to closest available OP or open port. In B case ship will teleport to closest available port LOSING ALL CARGO. This to prevent tricky uses and paying the action losing repairs, goods on board and so also doubloons simulating the fast retreat from area jettisoning all cargo. This could help those already able to retreating from a battle (so already showing off being able to) saving the ship... And being able to log off due to RL, still paying the option avoiding infinite tags. If captains want to preserve cargo/loot they have to fight they way off (thus I would say to eliminate invisibility at all).
  2. One of the first time he used her. And Wappen (not a experienced either) was squinshed very fast, as normal. Your Ingers got some pushiment too... but I was too slow to try to finish one. Without the Christian partly on me... Inger were really soft. Sidenote: I had only one book on Classic... I was moving her with traders It happens. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Plain normal.
  3. You are missing the mast sniping crap. Without it there would be no real balancing issues using 12pd. But with it, already 9pd are fine demasting a surp. Would you like to see a Lynx demasting a Surp at range too? A lot of balancing issues are linked even if not at first glance.
  4. Honestly. I'd like a total realism (sailing and gunnery wise) and total historicity... BUT it could end being unplayable or too unbalanced. It's a game, and a MMO, not a pure simulation game. Some bargains are needed.
  5. It was a nice countergank. Gear wise it was a no way combat. As I said Yordi. I simply suicided keeping busy for a while 2 Inger and partially the Christian. The difference: we dont whine 😎 after similar situation.
  6. I would say yes. Still the heavier version of Lynx is Privateer (buffing her too, may be less on gun side and more on crew count - making the Lynx the gunner and Privateer the boarder). Moreover game wise 12pd sounds a bit too heavy. I'd vote 9pd.
  7. There are a couple viable tactics. Still I agree: no noob will ever pass it.
  8. And real P2W players, those with a bulk of alts, will gladly thank you. Not to speak about even single account traders that often are not top rank.
  9. Good starting point. No fight would ever fair. Never. Not last due to players sheer experience. A skilled captain but not with a lot of combats (experience) could get tricked by a less skilled but more seasoned one. Moreover... NA is (also and mainly I'd dare to say) a Wargame. Or in general simulate Warfare. And there's nothing fair in war on wargame. On the contrary, Admirals and Generals down to Captains and the last soldier and seaman tries and tried any possible dirty trick to have an edge over adversary. It's the nature of war: in the end people dont fight for a nice fight. People fights to "win". Yes. And nay. To be able to learn you need basics. The more skilled and experienced your adversary, the more you need experience yourself to be able to recognize techniques, patterns, ability, gear etc... used. So I'd repeat: a fresh captain with tutorial done, after some weeks of trading and bot killing, and a couple of fast Coast Defense zergs, facing a duel vs. one of the most skilled captains around will die. Fast and bad. Learning almost nothing, being unable to even understand what's happened. Even thinking about cheats... or irrealism (like a Snow killing a 3rd rate). It's like Instruction: first Primary School, then Secondary, then College then University. You dont move, even if you're brilliant ("skilled") from the first to the last: you'll miss the means to learn. I love it too. It's a gem and could be shining gem. Still NA needs to decide what to be. I think it should be a sandbox MMO like EVE, with plenty activities outside PvP in particular and even combat in general to have a society growing in it (like in EVE indeed). With all pros and cons. I played a lot of pure war simulations (I started when I was 9); if I want one I can look to highly technical ones (like WarInRussia latest iterations) or to my 150+ AH, GDW, InternationalTeam boardgames. Sincerely here I'm looking for also an enviroment. And a refined and expanded NA could shine far more than EVE.
  10. Best suggestion. As I recently said, not all could get time and skill (and the gear too) to be among the best, but everybody can get the experience to be still good (or very good) in PvP. Best way to learn is the hard way: being sunk. Also being ganked: you'll see how gankers gank, or how they manouver. And quoting @z4ys best way to help the hunter is... Fleeing: giving him best position (usually behind slight upwind) to let him do his stuff. I appreciated quoting me without the name, very polite. But I have no problem to stand by my ideas. StillI would like to have better explain my idioticy. Sidenote: do you really think that PvE content should be mindlessly kill bots (more, less, different - still in the end this is NA pve) or AFK fishing? Wouldnt be better an active fishing? Meaningful exploration? A - define 'real fights'. Because (again) I got accused of ganking by a Wasa (top rank) attacked alone on my Requin. Moreover: what will a 100hrs player learn from fighting people like Ram Dinark 1v1 Renomee v Renomee? Aside he stands no chances at all in PvP. B - ganking, or better, hunting is the best way to learn how to not being hunted.
  11. May be the same Vic some clanmates found and tried to tag too. Moreover: 2 brits chased a Prussian Requin from Jamaica towards south shallows and she disappeared in the middle of sea. And it's not the first time I see too a ship I'm chasing disappearing in the middle of sea.
  12. Indeed I was wrong. The 1st rate would be already fully manned. My bad. That said... We are in the end discussing about which exploit to use to get the result... Not that has to be some kind of (partially lecit in theory) exploit.🤓
  13. As far as remember you can move stuff from fleety to main ship and viceversa. So it's only this step away from trading from fleety to mates at sea.
  14. Then let me know how is handling a 1st rate with 60 men. 😁
  15. I got a 7th mission to kill a 5th rate for a shiny silver chest. I prepared a wo/wo privateer carro reps/reload modded. The 5th rate ended being an Indefetigable. It required 40+ minutes hugging to work his side and structure. And I got quite damage too: we know AIs dont go straight and very often close haul and tack... So I had to speed up, tack ahead and get back in position (not losing bowsprint) to avoid boarding risk but this way being at distance and having to eat a broadside while closing again. It was clearly douable with not big risks still it's less easy than described due to very limited errors allowed (like collision risk) and I would underline that AIs are not crappy at all firing to small targets. And they depower from leeward so few guns on lower deck hit (hard). Moreover after a tack you have to hug on leeward side... Getting more hits, or swapping side, making the work far longer. Also granted this experience I looked to these feats (from unknown people in PVP/pz) with suspicion. @admin opinions?
  16. Quite big team effort ... And. I posted some "limits" of damage output. But surely douavle Still a bit... Exploiting. I hope devs could rebalance a bit to reduce these. 😁
  17. Again. Biggest gun on 7th rate: 12/18 carro. With full reload max dps per gun is 2. Max broadside count is 6 guns. Therefore max dps is a bit higher than 12. A Victory has more than 15000hp armor+structure. Therefore in above noted case you need a minimum of 20-25 minutes to sink a Victory staying side to side never missing a shot. So killing is math wise douable within the timer. But. In the meantime: almost never getting hit (how many 42 meds hit needed to sink a 7th rate) and never slowing down (= boarding) taking also into account minimum other 2 1/2 rates sometimes firing and firing while you move from one to another. Then repeating the same feat in two-four times in a row. Few situations are utterly impossible. May I say this is very close being so? And could be reasonable thinking to a cutter tagging 3 friendly crappy 1/2 rates that will surrender and then got [X]+sink (guaranteeing 4/5000 doubs from event + often a nicely high amount of doubs drop on sinking?).
  18. Yes. Please note we are not speaking about 1v1. We are speaking of 3 1-2 rates killed in a single battle using a 7th rate.
  19. Winning boarding doensnt guaranteed at all getting the kill. Second: how do you think to board a First rate with 60 crew? 1deck v 4?
  20. But today event is 7th rate 😎 So how on privateer getting the kills vs 1/2 rates?
