  1. Ah yes, well that is unfortunate. Two brigades will be left out then. I would advise in future campaigns to look ahead at what the grand battle looks like so you can take the necessary steps before getting there. Simply enter the deployment screen and make make notes, then exit again.
  2. Yes, you can . If you're really desperate you can even dissolve a brigade and sell their weapons!
  3. Again, just sell some weapons that you captured or take out a few supplies to be able to buy that extra corps and put 1 brigade in there from the 1. corps or more as you please. It is not a gamestopper.
  4. Just make a second corps and move the number of brigade you want there for the flank attack
  5. There are limits to how far the AI will scale down.
  6. If I want to capture a supply wagon I usually click "H" to stop brigade from shooting on the way in. This makes the process smoother anyway. In beta, brigades didn't autoshoot at supply wagons, which I hope can make a comeback. There are now tutorial videos on the link as well, so don't miss out
  7. Playing through all of the Union missions with voice over. Tactical advice and commentary on all videos. Shiloh is being processed. Playlist:
  8. It is confirmed by developers both on the beta forums and the official one. Too many posts to dig it up. One way to test it is to go directly to the historical battle and see how many enemy troops there are. Then go back, create your brigades and see how many they have now
  9. Something that could be done is give the AI a large pool of men from the start, and if you really do manage to beat it in to the ground all the way, eventually it would run of men and be unable to keep matching your force. It would make the layer parts of the campaign uninteresting for me though in long term. Not sure how other strategy games handle this - usually the AI cheats to get more bonuses to build men
  10. I've got no good answer for that though my experience isn't just the AI scales on a ratio like that. A developer will have to tell you exactly how it works
  11. You still get to have your veterans, your generals etc.if you don't waste them - and that will make it easier for you.The scaling is only in numbers as far as I can tell. There is still a lower limit to what's feasible to bring on the battlefield as the AI seems to have a minimum amount at least so it does matter to preserve your army. I cringe when I see my favorite brigades shot to pieces or my new two star general die - maybe that's just me.
  12. The AI scales with you, yes. In the end, you total victory will still depend on casualties and victories though, so killing more of them is still important. It's done so it won't make the campaign uninteresting and it makes sense from a design perspective, though from a player's perspective, it looks less appealing. The alternative I imagine is an AI that you only have to beat in to the ground once and then it can't recover at all and you just roll right over the rest of the campaign.
  13. The smallest brigade you can make is 500. The game doesn't really distinguish between regiment and brigade. Some troops that come on the battlefield are regiments from a brigade and can be combined to the brigade but in terms of functionality, only size matters. Edit for some corrections from my phone.

    Combine???

No there is not. But you get to play Gettysburg in this game later.
  15. There are no civil war focus testers in this thread
  16. You also need to hold it in the next stage against an AI counterattack. Good luck :).
  17. Scourge of War MP was a lot of fun. I have a hard time seeing the campaign being made MP due to the immense development time it would take to balance it and make it functional. Also, people will likely quit before getting through so the value of it would be low. If MP comes to this game at all, I would guess at something like UGG has - individual scenarios to play out and if we're really lucky, full battles as they are historically.
  18. Not as far as I know, no. This game is rather unique in it's design. Let me know if you find something along these lines of newer origin .
  19. The game is fairly old but had its lively community once and was easy to get mp games. I've had some 800 hours of it. It's unfortunate that it has past though.
  20. I suppose it can be a bit confusing but from how I understand it the stars are merely indicators of how strong a brigade will be. On top of that, the brigades have individual stats that make most of them unique. The Iron Brigade is a much stronger 3-star brigade than some of the 3 star CSA brigades f.x. and Cutler is much stronger than other 2-star brigades. The entire Union 1 corps as a whole is better than the other Union comparable stars too.
  21. Yes, I think all newcomers to the game should watch this. When I first started it was difficult for me to distinguish the various locations on the map from one another and I'm thinking it's hard for anyone who starts up without knowing the battle.
  22. I would watch this if I were you. It's one in a series of excellent videos detailing several battles of the civil war. It will give you a clearer picture of what kind of battle you are fighting in the game I think. http://www.civilwar.org/battlefields/gettysburg/maps/gettysburg-animated-map/
  23. Yeah I understand but it's like waiting for christmas, not knowing excactly what's coming and when .
  24. Desperate for news here , hah. Little hints in videos and forums for so long now. Can't wait for some real info about the new game.
  25. Hi Paulus. Thanks for your comment. I think I just move units up next to each other yes and then the individual units AI will arrange them in a neat line. Also by working with reserved you are capable of filling out any gaps in the line.
