SteelSandwich
I found the drawing of a allegedly dutch frigate, with the year 1803 mentioned, and supposudly carried 46 guns. The writing is in dutch, so therefore i assume she is of dutch origin. Since the name is hard to read, i am at a dead-end. Anyone who has a clue which ship we are looking at here, any help is much appreciated! Also, the drawings seem to be part of a larger set of drawings, which would be my final goal for this ship Edited September 25, 2015 by SteelSandwich

Blackjack Symons
From what little I can find, I suspect her to be the Orpheus.
SteelSandwich
the Orpheus would later be captured by the brits and renamed 'helder', which is another dutch ship im working on getting the proper plans from. Here are drawings of the original Orpheus after her capture: Edited September 25, 2015 by SteelSandwich
Blackjack Symons
Huh. My bad, then! Yeah, I saw she was captured but I didn't see any plans for her.
Blackjack Symons
https://www.quora.com/Can-anyone-identify-the-Frigate-in-this-drawing I asked the question on Quora, here's hoping someone there might be able to enhance the image or identify the ship itself.

Blackjack Symons
That says Aftekening (drawing) van den/een? Fregat (of the Frigate) _____
Blackjack Symons
Addendum: I'm fairly certain the name starts with a C, then what looks like an O, then an M, L, and two letters i can't make out C _ M L _ _
Vovolov
It says "Aftekening van een fregat" and seems to continue with "Go..M..k..m"? I can't make much of it - if it is a name, this website might have it included. Possibly "Gouda"? This ship was sold to the Navy in 1797. Edit: If it is a C, then Cornelia, Colombo or Concordia are possiblities. Edited September 25, 2015 by Vovolov
Blackjack Symons
I looked into it, and there was mention of the Ambuscade under Captain Van Voss. Could that be it? It was sunk in 1801, and mentioned in the Royal Society 1803. The same frigate (I assume) also took part in the Vlieter Incident of 1799. SteelSandwich
I have already seen it somewhere on this forum. in that case, its my bad, i figured it had not passed through here yet. Couldnt recall seeing it here before, do you happen to know the name of the ship then? Edited September 25, 2015 by SteelSandwich
Arnaud Arpes
The name might be too long, but could it be the Gelderland?
SteelSandwich
someone recognized this ship as a possible sister-ship to the heldin, which sounds rather plausible.
Blackjack Symons
Reverse image search said that this is a 46 canon frigate. Searching for a 46 canon frigate in the Dutch maritime database I found only one result for 1803: Maritiem Digitaal Driedimensionale tekening van een fregat van oorlog van 46 stukken. Hellend onder een hoek van 20 graden. Three dimensional drawing of a war frigate of 46 pieces. Angled at 20 degrees. The author is A. Bakker. The drawing is available at the national maritime museum under number 14838. There's no name though Edited September 26, 2015 by Blackjack Symons
St. Vincent
Whereabouts does it say that she mounted 46 guns? Correct me if I'm wildly mistaken, but she only looks to be pierced for 14 a side, plus two stern chase ports. That'd make her nominally a 28-gunner (which I believe would match the Heldin, per SteelSandwich).
SteelSandwich
Her main deck is a flush deck, which in design is similar to the heldin. However, she can mount atleast 2 canons on het forecastle and 10 at her aft castle.
