reinforcements, exploit?

Recommended Posts

You attack some one with a few more ships than the he has and wait until he calls in the reinforcement. Ones he does that, the rest of your gank squad joins in and the victim can't call more reinforcement to compensate, because the button is not longer available.

Sounds like an exploit.

Not an exploit. The defender has the ability to wait 5 minutes. This would prevent any additional players from joining against him, and ensure maximum efficiency from the reinforcements. If he calls them in before the 5 minutes have passed, thats his own choice.

How is it not an exploit? when players are performing an action, to circumvent a game feature to gain an unfair advantage.

Might as well remove the feature.

Reinforcement button should be available to compensate for every joining enemy, no matter how many times you press it. You are still at big disadvantage, because you allies are AI, but least you are have a slight chance of fighting back. Waiting 5 minutes and wondering if more enemies going to join, will probably be too late regardless.

pretty tall tale considering it takes roughly 3 clicks to get to this thread to figure out you've made that up?

He hasn't made that up, he's just mistaken about when it is coming in. Not with next big patch, but when land is added to instanced battles. No need to be so confrontational, but in keeping with your posting here and on the Elite forums I guess.

FFS is every mechanic in this game an exploit now? Seriously i am getting sick of all these posts moaning about game mechanics..

When people make clever use of game mechanics, there will always be that one guy shouting 'exploit'..

If you're doing missions solo in dangerous waters, select the fastest ship (privateer or Reno). Do not engage if you see enemy players on the OW. Until it closes do not engage the AI, just run at an optimal point of sail and do something more product.

If someone does jump in and the mission closes you now have the option of engaging with full health or keeping running. By doing so, you remove their incentive to keep jumping in.

If running remind them that they could be doing something far more productive with their time like studying art. They can either leave battle or their game becomes a chatroom.
