  1. Ya I was trying to rush there before you could entrench your guns.... I was too late...
  2. Got whooped by the master... Look at his cannons ratio... Good Lawrd
  3. Sorry Airxsteel, I had to it was so bad, I had his army which mind you outnumbered my own. Totally Surrounded on all four sides he had no where to go. Utter Murder.
  4. HAHA, It reminds me of the good old Sid Meiers Gettysburg days when I would surround an entire division and kill or capture it.
  5. This is something you have to figure out through experience. Usually troops with 3 stars will have greater load/reload speeds. The Load/Reload is reflective to troops that have superior Manual of Arms and Training. Kinda like boot camp. Some Brigades were thrown together in haste and did not receive the training they should of. Other Brigades have fought many battles and gained experience through battle. The only way to truly figure this out is to test the different maps. Watch the different brigades and notice their advantages and disadvantages. I do not think its fair to create a cheat guide and list of specifics for Brigades strengths and how to play specific maps. Instead I only wished to give you all a brief summary of the general Do's and Do not's that would allow people to have a more enjoyable experience when playing UG:G.
  6. I have encountered no issues with it being to dark, the game is not to fast. I actually wish I could speed it up faster so I can murder you quicker ( I got things to do). I love the night time battles. It keeps you wondering what brigade you will be facing not knowing if they out match you or vise versa is great! Melee and Fire is amazing. Union cannons are very powerful but Confederate morale is devastating. Just like it should be. Also Cannons in limber can run from skirmishers and keep up with Cavalry just like they could in real life. I see nothing but improvements from this game. If you have any real issues please describe them and send any crash reports to the ADMINISTRATORS. Vague references and emotional tirades do no justice to anyone specifically yourself. See you on the field Generals!
  7. http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/1868-blunts-tutorial/ I have also written a strategy guide.
  8. For sure there are issues with rank. Some in top ten havent been online in a month and are sitting pretty in top rank spots (Dont Escrow Taxes, Looking at you brother). Others have beat 2 stars Lt Gens and gained no rank. Some go up in rank when they F4 and disconnect from game. While some go down in rank after wins. The rank does not show right now who is the best. Instead it shows in a general idea who is. Oh ya its official, {W.A.R.} is the first Ultimate Generals Gettysburg Clan
  9. Next few days we will be testing the new update. When its working it will be released. Trust me its worth it!
  10. This map is the most balanced of all the maps on UGG in my opinion. Both Yankee and Rebel have equal chances to win. I prefer to play as Yankee on this map only because its so much more satisfying winning against a human with my crazy tactics and them scratching their heads going how the hell did he win? The secret to this map is the opening moves, just like in chess it determines how you will play the rest of your game. One of my favorite tactics and one I use often is to mass attack Davis Brigade and Ignore Archer completely. Have all five of your units swing north and hit Davis from all sides. The enemy will think you have gone mad and will rush Archer forward and try and take one of the VPs... Complete mistake. As you chip away at that monster Davis Brigade he cannot hold his morale long and before long you will have him running away. Keep your skirmishers attacking. By this time Iron Brigade and Cutler arrive. have them attack Archer. Archer is good but no match to superior Reload and Accuracy of the two best Union brigades in 1st Corps. You can utterly murder Archer and you want to. Kill him till he reaches 400 men and he will rout from battle and you dont have to worry about him no more. Keeping your skirmishers forward will prevent Petti and Brock from rushing to the aid of Archer fall back your skirmishers and sacrifice their lives if need be. After Archer is dead Rush Iron Brigade and Cutler forward as much as you can. This will give you a buffer zone to fall back and give you crucial time for rest of 1st corps to arrive. Another secret for Union deploying troops is to NEVER EVER deploy troops to a location that already has troops. Always extend your line or open up a new battle front. Never chase after the enemy. You will always be fighting a battle on his terms. Instead make him chase after you. Key and point. As the battle rages 3/4 through the battle the rebels are spent. Fire focus multiple union brigades on what ever Rebel Brigades hold the center of the line. Murder them and send them fleeing. Once a gap has been created you should be arriving new reinforcements. Rush them through the center of the line. Fall back your flanks and now run your entire army following the reinforcements Capture the 3000VP Herrs ridge. Bring up your cannons. Form a battle line before the rebels catch on. Before you know it the battle is almost over. You have 5+ brigades sitting on the 3000VP with cannon support. At this point rebels will start crying. Que Rage Quitters
  11. http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/1868-blunts-tutorial/ Try out my Tutorial I wrote. It should help you, In single player as well as Multiplayer.
  12. My Multiplayer is glitchy. I couldnt for the longest time get it to screen shot. It would not even let me access Steam in Multiplayer. But then I have a brilliant idea. What if I join through Singleplayer, then Switch over to Multiplayer? Bam!!! Now my screenshot works. Also toughest person on my Leaderboard is Colby72. That kid is GOOD!!! If you want in on the leaderboard send me a Invite.
  13. There are people on this forum who have through private message attacked me, my ideas and my suggestions as though they are formed from some lesser base of knowledge. (You know who you are, I will not put you on blast) During the early stages of development of this game before many of you were part of this forum we had many of the same discussions I see pop up from time to time through new users and old as though its some new idea or suggestion. The only real "UGG Fatal Flaw discovered" would be the constant rehashing of old intellectual bullying that goes on in this forum. Some people just have their own opinions and you cannot sway them one way or another. Other people are open to discussion and will admit when they have been defeated. True wisdom is the art of learning from past mistakes and false ideas. Those that cannot I am afraid will over and over repeat the same tired old discussions...
  14. The ranking system is totally flawed. I can win games and go down in rank. I can lose games and gain rank. I can win 30 straight games against all manner of different rank people and not move a single rank one way or another. Only thing I know for a fact. There is only a small group of you out there that can beat me!!! Usually its cause you got lucky
  15. I just want to throw my two cents in on the statement about after certain battles usually after a full day of battle going from day 1 to day 2 or day 2 to day 3 the Brigades will not be in the same place left from the previous battle. I fear that some people are overlooking a very simple and realistic explanation. The word of the day is Logistics. Yes this was a real issue in the American Civil War. You have to remember soldiers marched into battle with only a Knapsack or Haversack on their back. Sometimes marching upwards of 30 miles a day. Then charging without hesitation into deaths jaws. An American Civil War soldier carried with him his Brogans(Boots) 2 pairs of socks, Under garments (Cotton) "To keep his wool clothes from chaffing his body", 2 Shirts(Cotton), pants (Jean or Wool) Jacket/Coat (Jean or Wool), Haversack or Knapsack (Canvas or Oil painted Canvas) contents weighing between 5-15lbs of food and personal items, 1/2 of a Dog Tent (Canvas) which he would share with another soldier to put together to make 1 complete dog tent, Ground Cloth or Poncho, Ammo Box (20-40 rounds) Not every soldier carried the same Ammo Box, Cap Pouch(30-100 caps), Canteen, Bayonet and leather Scabbard, belt, suspenders and his hat. (Anyone who has ever marched in a long campaign as a Civil War impressionist can attest to how HOT and HEAVY a civil war uniform can be especially if wearing wool sweating your ASS OFF!) On average a soldier could fit a total of 40 rounds at MOST into a Ammo box, Usually only 20 rounds though. if he was smart would carry another 20 or so in his Haversack or Knapsack. A well trained soldier could fire about 2 shots per minute. Not all soldiers were trained the same and some could fire faster. So about on Average after 30-45 minutes of battle a Civil War soldier would be out of ammo. Not to mention his canteen would be completely empty of drinking water. Which usually means if you could survive the hail of fire being shot at you as you either attack or defend a position you are incapable to stand and fight any longer. ALL American Civil war Brigades fell back to regroup, rearm, rest, eat and drink. If you read your history books prime examples of this in the battle Gettysburg is how 1st Corps fell back to Culps Hill after the first day only to encounter Ewell on the second day. Or what about the 20th Maine who fought on Round Top only to fall back on the third day to the center of the Union line to face Longstreets Charge. Units would fall back sometimes MILES from the original battle even if they carried the day to rest refit and refill canteens. Civil War battle lines although the lines at times were Static Blue or Grey. Inside the lines themselves were constantly moving engaging, disengaging and falling back as units tire and ran out of ammo. So I say this. Is it really so strange to start a American Civil War Battle, only to move from day one to day two and find your armies moved to different locations than you left them? I say no it is not.
  16. Don't think of it as who is you are to play against, but think of it as what side YOU will be playing.
  17. I would like to see statistics for Win and Loss for a person entire Career. Maybe shows how many battles you played on each map. What side you fought on. Do you only play as Union on a map that is easy for Union or do you play on all sides on all maps and are you really that good? Those kind of things can distinguish the quality players from the posers.
  18. Send me a invite I want the song "I'm a good ol' Rebel" REB_Blunt
  19. Not since the update it wont let me access any Steam functions during UGG but all my other Steam games work fine.
  20. I was wondering if it was just me or if anyone else is having problems accessing Steam while playing UGG. For some reason; Since the recent update I cannot access the Steam chat, Screenshot, and Steam in general. Only way to talk in steam is to back out of UGG entirely respond and then restart UGG. I was talking to one of my friends who also plays the game he is having issues not being able to use the in-game chat but he CAN use steam in game which makes it incredibly hard to talk to him during games since I cannot use Steam chat but I CAN use in game chat. Silly gremlins i suppose... Anyone else having issues with steam? Any suggestions welcome.
  21. The poll is at the limit. I cannot add any more to the poll without removing something else. Any change in the poll would render it not accurate. For this reason the poll can still be voted on but I cannot add any more options. Thanks for everyone for voting. I'm am sure this poll is of great use for the developers to decide what avenue to steer the game in coming updates.
  22. I had that problem couple years ago I had to create an entire new account and rebuy most my games. I ended up doing Game Emulators for most my Total War games cause I refused to rebuy them all over...
  23. Issues with game freezes and disconnects during multi-player seem to be greatly improved. Many on my friends list have claimed that a lot of their disconnects have ceased. There are still issues with STEAM not allowing you to access the screen shot and chat options during game. Sometimes it will, sometimes it will not.
