  1. The thing I do not like is that the Unit ranking system is not based on what the units actual degree of skill was, but is based on how that unit preformed at the Battle of Gettysburg. Everybody has a bad day (Or 3) they shouldn't be judged on that but on over-all skill through out the entire war. Point in fact basically Robertson's Brigade is every bit as good as a Brigade as Archer (My opinion better than Archer) or Iron Brigade. In this game they are only given 2 stars. Very disappointing in my opinion.
  2. When forming your lines depending on what size brigade you are moving. You would want to space your brigades 3-6 inches apart from one another. Also you should never deploy units into the same location as before unless your battle line is collapsing. Always extend your lines, force the enemy to follow you.If you press an attack and it begins to fail, fall back till you are no longer in contact with the enemy before you are at 0 morale and you retreat in panic. Then if possible swing your brigades to a different location force the enemy to follow you and launch your attack in a different location. If more than one enemy brigade is attacking a single brigade do not press forward. Fall Back conserve your strength. The enemy will usually press and follow you and it will drain them of Morale and you in turn will gain morale. One of your brigades can easily destroy multiple enemy brigades if you fall back and they press forward. Use your skirmishers on the flanks or to protect your cannons. Hope this helps.
  3. Since when did Robertson's Brigade of the Hardest fighting Texas and Arkansas Crack regiments the confederates had to offer become a 2 star General... Has this always been like this or did I miss something in a previous update?
  4. my pet peeve is damn charging units that are routing running in circles like this picture. The Iron Brigade in particular was routing before they charged me first they fell back then they circled around and ran through my men, then the other two Brigades were routing as well and still charging me...GRRRRR
  5. Man do I suck or what. im back down to rank 36. I win battles and I still go down I lose and I go up i think the leaderboard is on crack.
  6. Dude, I lost like 10 battles in a row and I lost to a 2nd Lt and it droped me down to like 50 i was so pissed! I worked hard to climb back up jerk
  7. As of 9/4/14 It is very fluid. Even to the point of not working correctly. I have won battles and gone down in rank and lose battles and gone up. Others have said same issues. So Rank really is not as correct as it could be. That said Black Watch is the hardest person I have faced. I cannot beat him at all!!!!
  8. I believe the main multi-player issue is game going out of sync, but then not correcting itself. Then when you see something its not what is actually happening. Then what is actually happening you cant see and before you know it you have for example Iron Brigade with 90% morale drop to 0% in seconds and running for no reason from your perspective, but from other guy he has you flanked and is charging you from 3 sides. Second issue is Skirmishers and Videttes acting like elite commando's operating behind lines with full morale (maybe deny the Skirmishers the ability to Hold and keep their unbreakable morale?) and Third issue is Routing units charging and running in circles with no rhyme or reason. But I think the third issue may have something to do with the first issue of the game going out of sync. I think a dedicated server could fix the sync issues.... -my two cents
  9. Not only that but skirmishers and Videttes can storm through entire stationary Brigades. Come out the back side and now in prime position to attack cannons. I guess its cause on multiplayer we are stuck playing the first map over and over so we are using these Skirmishers way too much. But I have had many conversations with many different people and the two top issues people keep talking about are SKirmisher and Videttes. Then Enemy Routing units running in circles till it meets contact with your brigade and then sends shock through your brigade and now your brigade is routing.
  10. Or I was thinking why not give the option to the Attacker only. Give him a choice to extend it 15 mins or so longer.
  11. Ya you tried that tactic with me, lol. Well I did notice you start to move your men towards the end of the game when you started losing though lol...
  12. Thats right it was a draw, not a loss. Ya I was surprised Paul held better than the Iron Brigade. He would not break even when I had everyone else running. Then your reinforcements arrived. I had to fall back.. It was a good game for sure.
  13. Someone may of found a way to quit without receiving the loss, Is what it sounds like.
  14. The rank system itself is unfair. I lost one battle went down from rank 1 to 12 then have not lost a battle since played a good 10 more and my rank further goes down. Is this because I am battling random low rank people? Does the people who have higher rank not play against the general population in order to keep the high rank or how does that work...?
  15. One thing I have noticed though is a lot of people with high rank (People who are not talking on Forum, names I do not recognize) are really not that good. I think they just get that rank by being in games where others quit... So these ranks are really not that informative. We should really wait till the full game releases to start forming any opinion on the real rank one is rated by. Hopefully by then we weed out the fake posers. Send me a friend Invite now that you can see my name on Steam if you want your name included on my next screenshots. -my two cents
  16. This is screenshot of Multiplayer Leaderboard Here is screenshot of Beta Leaderboard
  17. Ya from what I can tell its only friends thats why you people need to accept my friends invite on Steam, lol!!!!
  18. I have had the problem were the screen stays stuck on "Connecting...", Sometimes won't be fixed even after I reload Steam. Usually happens around AM times here in Central Time Zone US. Then later in the day it works.
  19. I have noticed in Multiplayer Observations that I have murdered the #1 ranked player in a decisive victory.I was rebels he was blue bellies. If I am reading the statistics correct I am now ranked #1 as a Colonel, He was a Major General. Hope your rank did not go down too much Great game who ever you were. Send me a invite... Now who wants some? Shoot me a invite at REB_Blunt on Steam to all comers!!!! Errr in Beta.. Just realized there two different servers GRRRR!!!!
  20. Well I got two battles into the game. Just hard to find games I work during day hours and want to play at night. Central Standard US time.
  21. Well to be fair at the battle of Gettysburg. It was 3 Texas Regiments and 1 Arkansas Regiment. Other names they were called were "Hoods Brigade" Or "Hoods Texas Brigade" But your right along with Stonewall Brigade these were the best of the best.
  22. For those struggling to win against union on the first day first battle. Try this strategy. Bring Archer and Davis and all your cannons up north to capture Northern most VP for 500 points. Use your skirmishers to protect your cannons as they travel north. The Union will press the attack and attack at Herrs Ridge/Tavern. They will also try and kill your cannons. Ignore Herrs Ridge. Protect your cannons as you swing north. Pettigrew and Brock will arrive from the west end of the map, with them press the attack eastwards on the map. Keep your skirmishers at Herrs Ridge to defend it. Place Pettigrew and Brock side by side and march west. Bring up reserve Artillery battery as it arrives. Place Archer and Davis side by side and march south. In a pincer attack attack the remaining Union keeping up Enfilade fire on each union Brigade as they come up. Bring your cannons from the north and the west. Union will fall back do not give them any rest. Keep up the attack they cannot match your Morale and will rout in due time. With this strategy you can defeat the Union with a Major Victory on any difficulty on the first day first battle. Best strategy I have found so far... Hope this helps you guys.
  23. Nick Thomadis / Game Labs, This new update is by far the best advancements in UG:G to date. The new After battle statistics and the Full order of battle reports add such a wonderful element to this game that allows one to fully enjoy the rewards of victory or the horrors of defeat watching which Brigades kill the most or take the most loses. Far surpassing my hopes. It is much better than SMG ever was on this regard.Thank you so much to listening to us. In my opinion you can quit adding new elements to the game today and it is already a excellent game. But since you are still willing to work with us; ever developing this game to greater heights, I will contribute my two cents. There are still bugs with regiments retreating towards/through enemy lines or around the flanks of the enemy brigades still. Perhaps an option could be that Units who are shattered or retreat would be pulled to or near their units commander on the field? Artillery seems to running very smooth. I have not had any issues with Artillery since previous updates. I am not very clear on the elements that contribute to raising morale. For me I would just think that a unit that captures a VP should be given a boost in morale. It would just seem logical that a unit or units of troops that capture a VP while organization would be low after an assault, Units would be proud and understand the tactical advantage they just acquired better than a unit who just shattered in terror and ran 100 yards to sit stationary while their brother in arms are in the distance dying, Just a thought anyways. Brigades like Barksdale, Law, Robertson, Kershaw, Wofford, Semmes and especially Pettigrew (Although Pettigrew was a giant fat brigade their soldiers were not green by any means) They were full of Veteran and Crack soldiers. I do not feel that they are fully represented. (It drives me nuts to see Brigades like Law and Robertson retreat from a assault after only a few mins of contact). Though some of these units did not preform as you would expect in the Historical battle of Gettysburg, They were for the most part very seasoned soldiers. The best the south had to offer.
