  1. I've had this problem too, it happened on the July 2nd morning attack on Cemetery Hill. I was CSA and went to attack Stannard who was in a dangerous position, both Wright and Posey couldn't attack, charge or anything and for my trouble they got ruined. It also happened once where I couldn't attack Wright in the Little Round Top scenario. Restarting the battle solves it, but then you lose all your gains.
  2. Any change to artillery would be beneficial. The poor rebs don't stand a chance if they ever have to cross open ground, the shell fire alone just destroys the condition and numbers nevermind the canister. And then one volley from even a good brigade like Perrin does 5 damage back, whoop dee @*%^!# doo, And the rebels have vastly inferior artillery and no videttes until day 3 to deal with it otherwise
  3. I've noticed Dynamic is the most susceptible to enfilading fire too, but the description of that AI does say that acceptance of high casualties is part of its weakness
  4. Working perfect for me, loving the possibility of Pender showing up early
  5. Thanks, I don't mind waiting if it means something better will come
  6. I actually did try that approach two days ago, Hood to BRT McLaws to support, Hill to defend/counter if needed, and got a Minor Win. Barnes would not break on LRT so I just couldn't get it. Replicating McLaws' destruction of Sickles is next to impossible here
  7. Yes that helps but please tell me where the CSA gets Videttes from on Day 2?
  8. Enjoying the game so far but there is one thing that is making any attempt at a Day2 battle with the rebels very difficult. Sickles artillery battery! It is so strong and the AI is very skilled at placing it in great spots that I don't even try to assault beyond the Peach Orchard anymore it is just impossible to crack those guns, they tear massive holes in my lines and the rebel guns simply cannot knock them out and if I try my own batteries are retreating in mere minutes. Very discouraging to play against. Has anyone else encountered this issue or am I just playing this all wrong? I doubt its my playing as can successfully remove the I and XI Corps guns on Day 1 with the rebels (with a fair amount of effort, the weaker the federal infantry the better their cannon it seems) but Sickles is a tough corps to crack with those guns
  9. If not percentages then what? Little bars that change colour? Either way its the same thing in a different wrapping, much of this sounds like minor issues of a highly subjective type
  10. Something in the Western Theatre. Which leads me to think of either Shiloh, Stones River or Chickamauga as those three had the best odds of victory for either side. I would most like to see a game for Stone's River, it has a similar feel to Gettysburg what with the smashing rebel success in the first part, grinding stalemate and minor rebel gains in the second and a final futile charge in the last act complete with Breckenridge bemoaning the losses his beloved Orphan Brigade suffered. Additionally it has a lot of unexplored what ifs that can in a way break new ground because to my knowledge aside from one scenario in Civil War Generals II no game has simulated the battle. What if McCook had stayed in line with Wharton and Cleburne instead of resting and drifting away? What if Cheatham wasn't drunk when he formed his lines to attack? What if Sheridan had gotten the support he needed and held out even longer? What would happen if Polk/Bragg had shifted forces to their left instead of assaulting the Round Forest? Possibly the biggest one, How would Bragg have fought if Rosecrans had attacked his right before McCook/Cleburne moved to assault?
  11. Just a question to the designers as to why Robertson's brigade is named after him and not their more famous and accurate moniker "the Texas Brigade." Seems only fitting to me that one of the most hard fighting and reliable units in Lee's army get its own custom name
  12. Chancellorsville would be fun but my personal request would be Stone's River. Such a dynamic day (the second day wasn't really a battle), that Bragg accomplished as much as he did is fantastical in and of itself but that Rosecrans got so pummeled and still kept his force together is also astounding.
  13. 26th NC also took the highest number of casualties out of every regiment that saw action at the battle. 1st Min took a higher proportion (85% I think) though.
  14. Caldwell's is a pain to use. The units aren't poor quality but with such small numbers they loose effectiveness far too quickly. On Day 2 I use them as a reserve since Longstreet and Hill can chew them up so damn fast. Rodes has noticeably less staying power I agree, but the large brigade size makes them useful on the defence to hold a wooded hill
