  1. Oh i hope we have Suez and Panama at the very least, otherwise playing as America will suck. I do think they should be time gated to the era they occured in, so the Suez is fine in 1890 but Panama isn't ready till 1914, and the Kiel shouldn't be open till 1895
  2. I think the best way to fix the spotting issues is quite simple. The Dev's know how tall the tower is, the average human eyeball can distingish a target for quite distance. Maybe reconfigured sighting to be the highet of the sighting top using this formula SquareRoot(height above surface / 0.5736) = distance to horizon Now this let's us detect ships maybe 30 miles away, but the human eyeball is inaccurate past about 3km's and really only accurate at point blank, and we wouldn't be able to guess the range well past maybe 6km. So Maybe have the ships detected, but no range, unless we have range finders which also have limits, because may Range finder 1 is shorter than 5, so 1 can get you a target out to maybe 8km but 5 can see all the way out to 20km. This would be a far better system. As for a challange, that's easy to do as well and dead simple, increase accuracy penalities for big guns vs light cruisers/destroyer/torpedo boats. You could still reduce spotting range based on time and weather, in a heavy downpour you'd be lucky to see an enemy ship at anything but point blank range even with range finders and early radar.
  3. yea, it used to matter in an earlier patch, task forces could get stopped and not able to pass, dunno why they disabled that.
  4. yea change didn't do anything, got the new verison, i had no fleet built new game playing as germany, I built zero ships, and by 1891 france and me where at war anyway, what the actual hell, this artifical nonsense is stupid
  5. as part of the full release are you going to reopen the save files. I was giving some thought to this, and its easy to do, tons of games do this for achivements you just do it for submit a bug. Instead of having the JSON encrypted, have a hash saved to an encrpyted JSON on closeing the game or leaving the campaign, if when relaunched the hash doesn't match the saved ecnrypted hash the game still plays but the report a bug feature is disabled, I'd say this would work great in the non beta builds, can you implement this feature, so you guys arn't flooded with bad bug reports, but those of us who want to deal with any bugs in the live version can simply choose to deal with them without the ability to submit said bug?It would also likely lower occurances of bug reports from people using cheat engine as I'm sure thats a massive uptick since you encrypted the JSON
  6. I agree, tension from fleets should only exist in say coastal waters in nations your already unfriendly with, and then only because your sitting in their costal waters. There is zero reason why a handful of battleships in Scappa flow should spark a war with germany.
  7. I agree, but I'd also like to limit it so we can select what to research, I'm tired of having to learn MK's of guns I'll never ever use.
  8. Possibly, but i had both blockaded and denied peace until it was forced on me, their economies where trashed, their admirals had been replaced, and now, they outnumber me 3-1 ship wise, but Italy collapsed, and France has yet to build new ships still putting around with their 4 remaining crusiers, and 2 torpedo boats. AT this point im just quitting because its not a workable scenerio. As for building multiple at once, yea I've done that, I got my economy to where i can lay down 30 Dreadnoughts at once if i want to in peace time and still make money, it was 1919 when i quit, and my navy's funds where a little over 12 billion, without cheating mind you. But I just did a battle with 14 of my BB's agasint them, and lost 12 of them, because i got ambushed by 40 Battleships. If your curious how, i set crew training down to like 10%, cranked trade to 200% and set research to max as well. IT started off at a positive of like 2 million, but within 10 years i was making 30-40mil, after nearly 20 years in peace i was doing 329 million a turn
  9. Also you totally wrecked the game with your GDP fixes, now i can win war after war, and wipe out the enemies battleships and crusisers, but next war in 3 years they'vbe got another 20-30 battleships, this is totally unacceptable, rollback whatever buff you gave to them, because this is beyond stupid
  10. I swear from now on since the AI still runs away slowly turning in campaign im gonna submit a bug report each and every battle, this is getting really old. If the AI isn't interested in fighting then the Battle shouldn't occur, and they should just surrender, and if your unwilling to fix it, then give us the ability to always use 30x so we can at least tolerate this, because its bullshit
  11. I'd agree except I fought a 16000 ton pre dread they had with Krupp1, and then 2 dreadnaughts with Nickle Steel. The other irony is the Pre had 13.2in guns, while the dreads where rocking 10.3in guns. Honestly the pre was actually more dangerous
  12. So new 1900 campaign, in 1908, is there a reason the german Dreadnoughts I'm fighting are using 9in of Nickle Steel Armor, i just sunk one with gun fire from a light cruiser squadron
  13. that may be, but campaign is the only enjoyable part of this game, custom isn't really that fun, nor is naval acadamy
  14. Well this is unplayable, got into a war with Germany and AH as france, Brittian and Italy signed an alliance with me and we went to war. Then because my fleets are fighting Germany and AH, my standing with them dropped until they declared war on me suddenly. How the hell does this make any god damn sense. The campaign is hard broke with this bug. Events Germany and Me went to War AH Delcared war on me for going to War with germany Britian asked to be my Ally as they where already at war with AH, accepted Italy asked to be my ally 2 turns later, accepted Moved my fleets of the AH and German Coasts Britian and Italy over 2 years went from 100 to -100 standing and declared war on me. While we where in an alliance. Since when do allies hate it when you help them fight a war?
  15. I'm not sure what your asking is easy to do, but as an inbetween I'd say we should be allowed to copy our refit to make a new class that we can then build.
  16. Makes sense, I'm sure the old 1890's battleships would have remained combat viable if rebuilt with new engines, all aromor stripped off and replaced with new plate, and all the guns ripped off and replaced with new models and turrents. I think it wasn't done because cost in the real world was nearly the cost of a dreadnought which at minimum has 2x the heavy firepower and only goes up from there. I'm sure a pre dread could have taken on a modern heavy crusier if upgraded to modern standards. I just wish the game better reflected the massive cost of refitting certain systems into the ships. Nick Thomadis Any Chance that the refit system will eventually let us keep our current gun mark if we choose, historically mainguns where not replaced with newer guns, the mark might be upgraded because of a new liner, but you never saw the New York class upgraded to 14/50's or the Colorado's upgraded to the 16/50 for instance. Just wondering cause I think main battery should be limited to what it was built with like tonage is.
  17. So I won a war with Germany, they transfered 40 ships to me, sounds nice. Problem is they don't show up on my fleet screen, they just exist, i can move them around but I can't do anything else. I wanted to scrap them, instead they are taking up peace time resources and funds. Anyone know a solution to this. For now I guess I restart and try to not ask for ships to scrap, because this stupidty since the ships where sent to the Med worsened relations with AH and Italy to the point war started, a war I wasn't ready for. This has to be fixed, it's game breaking that they are mine, but still controlled by Germany
  18. The germans did use 11in guns, and regretted it during Jutland, they hit more often than the Brittish but failed to do damage to the Battleships because they could resist their shells, germany realized faster firing is pointless if you can't actually damage them.
  19. you know this is correct right? The 16/45 US gun was deemed to actually be better for ship v ship than the 16/50 because the 16/50 was flatter, it could go further but it fired far flater than the 16/45 so it would be more likely to pen the deck, it was also better at shore bombardment because of this. In this one reguard the older 16/45 on South Dakota and North Carolina class ships actually could beat the 16/50 only because of this.
  20. no this is the change we needed as best as we can get, historically a navy that wanted to build a bigger ship than they had shipyard slip that would fit it, would expand that slip until it was big enough, see the Iowa class for examples of them purposefully expanding the slips to build them, historically this was a block but for a year or two, and more related to length and not raw weight. Right now at least we will have the shipyard size in a useable state, as it was Great Brittian would in 1950 be able to have a 72,500 shipyard if they built the maximum size every time without any misses, now it should make it possible from 1890 to 1950 to reach 132,500 by 1950 which is perfectly usable, and more interestingly by 1910 GB before was limited to 32500 and now they can do 52,500, so shipyard size will always outpace tech at a reasonable pace until super battleships and let's be honest, super's are fun but they cost 3x a modernized dreadnought, and I'd rather have 3 battleships than some 130k monster anyway.
  21. I wish we could calier down also, what I mean by that is well I guess a late 40's tech but sabot rounds, this was investigated in the late 40's, but by then the battleship age was over, but it would be kinda cool to see, you could shrink a 14 into a 12 but have higher muzzle velocity than a normal 12 for increased damage and range even over a normal 16
  22. seems to me they arn't like EA at all, EA focuses on console and PC with a handful of mobile titles, this company seems to think mobile is a good bussiness model. I've heard of some of there games, and I've heard how garbage they are.
  23. It does, with the bonus that in later era's the main guns of 12/14/15/16 become sniper rifles and will blow up a destroyer with 1-2 shots if you have radar tech
