well.. If it ever comes to Naval Action then at a very later stage.
Until then you are stuck with PvE battles. Wich can be standalone, too by any chance.

dynamic wind is within the code. Devs already incorporated this feature. But its not enabled.
I think some former tests had varying winds by a few degrees.

that CPU is pretty OC friendly. I am having a good aircooler on top (beQuiet darkRock2)
I am running that 4.4gig with 1.25V. Not the very best overclocker but decent enough for me.
Sidenote: I cannot get past the 4.5 mark. once I go 4.5 I am not stable while testing.
For my own experience I also OC-ed my Ram from 1600 ro 1866 with 9-10-9-27 timings.
My latency came down really hard. (20-30% if i remember right)
Its some kind of hobby I am having for myself.. burning money if it horribly goes wrong (..and no I do not have spare money to sacrifice.. I live on a risk:D)
now back on topic mb?

I5 4570 3.2MHz
GF 660ti
8 GB RAM
aaand:
Got very similar rig like PrezesOi
[...]The CPU is not a problem at all. Even if it is a sandy bridge i5 (the 2xxx series) the processor will handle it all.
GPU is in most cases the best boost to any computer. (exept for really outdated ones)
I only want to mention that more gigs of RAM is not the first thing to upgrade a rig. Its in most cases burnt money!
So inform yourselfs what you need.
Theres nothing worse than money spent on the wrrong thing while your still sitting on the same FPS wondering why.
-
16 gig of ram will not give you any boost in any game.
my max usage for NavalAction is around 3-3.5 gig of RAM while running firefox and music in the background.
Dont waste your money. 16 gig will not be used by any game on the market.
On the other hand if you are seriously doing work on your computer (rendering, coding etc) with serious workloads you will benefit on more RAM.
If you want a boost you have to save up for a better gafics card. The CPU will last both of you another few years.

you can customize the settings in the launcher.
When you start the game heres this little launcher with the resolution setup and all.
This thing has a TAB where you can change any key you wish.
But some of those keybindings are not functional. Like self destruct and such.
Also you may keep a screenshot of the standart keybindings since there is no default to reset to.
-
and as well check if any firewall screws you over.
If you cant connect for so long I suggest you to check this out.

white leaks:(white leaks)
you DO have leaks. Be aware of this when you heel over to the side you have them. They do not draw water into the ship.
red leaks:
you have x leaks under the waterline wich draw water.

1:On the lynx there is a small glitch with the wood damage texture being projected on the barrels of the 6 pd guns. (havent spotted it on the cutter btw) at high graphics settings.
This is on every cannon in the game. Its a known bug wich has to be sorted out eventually.

Sir,
Stay calm and read the forums.
There is already a thread in the "sea trials" forum section.
http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/1947-this-how-you-activate-your-steamcode-on-steam/
follow the instruction and voilà
-
the crew"skills" determin the performance on certain duties.
Sailing makes you sail faster and turn better, gunnery is giving you better reload, sacrifices sailing capability.
Survival is pumping your hull empty and plugging leaks. Also its supposed to make repairs faster.
Repairs:
We can choose to repair different modules: -hull/armor -sails -rudder -pump -powder magazine
As said bevore its as simple as repairing them.
Rudder is low priority, as is pump and powder magazine. If your armor is done. your ship is done. Better keep focus on this.
btw: Too late
I juust saw a new post incoming. But I provide some info nonehtless.

Its as simple as chilly says.
Sign up in the forums as you all obviously did to write in this thread.
We testers were chosen the same way. We wrote in this forum and got asked to test at some point.
There is no special sign up for the alpha test apart from the forums.

Burning and explosing ships are part of sea battles in the age of sail. I hope some one looks takes a good look at this part of the game.
Well. Is you say every ship should explode in an hollywood fireball I must agree with Mirones.
Occationally there were fires on board of ships, thats for sure. But its not an everyday's appearance for a ship.
My question to you is. Will I be allowed to record my gameplay after reviving my game code? I have just started both streaming on TwitchTV and posting videos on You Tube and would very much like to record and share my adventures on the high seas!
Check out the Youtube videos wich are already posted in this very forum.
You can spread youtube videos as long as they dont show bugs or early testing features wich are not ironed out for the public. Thats the actual treatment. About twich I cant say anything. Thats a new dimension.
-
I dont know how old that screenshot is but right now we cannot fire from decks wich are under the waterline.
That either beeing forced by the press of sails or because you take a lot of water.
note that we cannot visibly close the gunports but devs said this is some kind of automatic wich is just not grafically represented.

http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/1804-exploding-ships-fire/
altho another initial question but the thread went into the general question of hitting the magazine.
I close this one here.

Last week I was on Circon's Livestream when RAMJB went on and asked Jingles to have alook at Naval Action.
Thats about the best way this promotion could happen and I am waiting for the video in wich he mentions the Naval Action game.
So... The stone is already rolling. (If thats a good metapher)
-
Thats totally true.
Chasers are not given credit in the Wikipedia article.
Forecastle only means the upper deck at the bow.
-
I dont think you are 100% fair to the admins.
Altho not giving weekly updates directly they respond to many questions here in the forums.
Also there is a whole thread about the ideas behind fleet action/ fleet commander's options. Thats a very new thread.
I know its not as apparent at first glance. But you find a lot information in recent threads when you have alook around.
The SC wich are shown here are pretty old by now.
But Trincomalee was posted at the same time and went ingame this build. so we might see the Ontario in one of the next few patches. Satissima Trinidad mb, too but I think she needs a lot more work since she is HUUGE.

I guess he counted in the front and aft guns.
The actual guns on the sides are correct with 74 and 104.
Also the Surprise is rated a 34 gunner. (+4chasers)
USS Constitution is officially a 50 gun frigate.
-
Just for the record:
At early testing staged devs asked the community if they should render boats in their davids, hanging on the side or if they should show them at all.
About everyone agreed that a ship wich is cleared for action and not taken by surprise will tow the boats astern. As said in this thread, too the boats will get hit by cannonballs and splinter into lethal crew killing projectiles.
http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/108-boats-during-battle/?hl=boats
The initial question was different but the conclusion still exist today
Thats why devs dont bother showing them.
I still think its the best way to do it.

Maturin, ty.
And fuck no to any kind of random shit wich will kill you in one hit.
Fire is a different matter. If you cant distinguish it, your doomed anyway. Better flood the magazine to survive the hell your crew is in.
-
I dont get this speculations.
Think whatever you all like to but keep in mind the official estimated ETA is end of 2014.
It wont be this month for sure
Captain Telescope PiP
in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Posted
The captain will not bother himself watching every shot fall. If ever done that would be the 1st leutenant's job who is himself busy steering the ship. The captain of a big ship is more a kind of observer. He has the plan he is the brain of all, not the whole body.
That aside I think your suggestion is redundant. I can easily follow the path of every tracking shot I do with the (shift) telescope.
Zoom in, check the range, adjust. Yet another shot. Rinse and repeat until the range is found.
Such a small window you suggest wont help me a lot because a cannonball wich is small will be shown even smaller and will be harder to distinguish.
