  1. @admin There is a problem in game currently. That's the fact that the most used ship in game is the Redoubtable(i). This ship is listed as a 3rd rate but outperforms the 2nd rate St. Pavel. Now this being said, I know you guys decided to put the BR up to Bucentaur levels to help keep it out of PBs. This is all well and good. The only problem with this is that now the Wasa, 3rd rate and Bellona now don't have a job at all. Is there way to balance these affected ships so that they are actually played? I mean I honestly don't remember the last time I've seen a 3rd rate outside a group kill mission. Even then it was as AI. I feel that these ships are woefully under used and might need a small buff to help them find their niche. Even a reply of why not would probably help out as well.
  2. @admin This isn't a bitch or complaint post, this is a "hey this would be a nice feature" post. So recently I got myself and some like minded individuals to do a parking job outside a port. We were thinking that maybe if the dev team had some spare time that they might be able to put the top 4ish ships in port as models along the pier? Something like what we have in the pictures I've attached. That would give some idea that the port is inhabited by more than just 1 ship. If the dev team is feeling REALLY ambitious they could take the rest of the ships in the persons docks and park them out further out to sea like what they used to do in the past.
  3. @admin "But why no jacuzzi?" "Are you dear? We need the extra butlers!"
  4. Almost everyone in Sweden speaks English, some better than others. A LOT of PvPrs here, PZ groups every day. πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ͺ
  5. Same rules apply, we took our old port back. If you guys were so badass, you should have been able to beat us. The fact that you couldn't beat Spain until half their players decided summer vacation IRL was more important doesn't mean you get to cry and expect us to change anything.
  6. I was going to suggest opening the game to a bit of workshop magic, aka letting some of the modder/technically savee players help build out some of the different ships from history. Soleil Royal, Sovereign of the Seas, Dutch, Italian and Portuguese ships all come to mind as nice, pretty ships that would add depth to the game. Obviously these would have to get flushed out by the development team but how it sails and how the moving parts work together could be built by the community to help streamline the introduction of more ships to the franchise.
  7. I think that more historically accurate nations would be the better choice. GB, Sweeden, Denmark, France, USA, Spain, Portugal, Pirates and Dutch. Chinese, Prussia and Russia were never there, maybe singular trade ship captains but not ports or warships.
  8. Whaling: I don't know if this is even realistic to ask for but might I ask for a new game mode (don't know what to call it). Whaling was a huge part of the world at this time. Maybe introduce some whaling ships or a mod for ships/trade ships that allows them to go whaling? I don't know if it's viable to do a combat style event with the player getting put into a gunboat and an AI taking over the ship. Said gunboat would have the bow chaser cannon replaced with a harpoon icon or something? I'm thinking the only actual coding/programming would have to be the whales themselves.
  9. DLC proposal: Figureheads. A cheaper DLC ($5?) That lets you change the figurehead of the ship. Seeing a bunch of the exact same Centaurs or Christian 7 models is weird. Give me a lion or mermaid!
  10. @admin I know I might be jumping the gun on this, but any chance you can post a link to the specific section your referring to?
  11. @admin I don't know if someone else has posted something similar, but I was wondering where we could post ideas that the development team could take under review? An area of the forums where we can post something and have you update the status to "Under review/Consideration/Denied or Rejected" with maybe a reply on why it's good or bad. That being said, I would recommend a few things in game that might fill in more of the world immersion. 1: Whaling, Age of sail was full of it, from off the coast of US to off the coast of South America. Maybe have some whaling ships imported or have a refit/mod for trade ships that lets you go out and go whaling? Or Fishing even. Could use the same "battle fight scene area" like a battle, except instead of cannons, have there be an option to load harpoons or something. Then a rendering station or something at Port that could give oil or such for shipbuilding materials. 2: Figureheads: gotta admit I would kill to be able to change out the Figureheads on a lot of the ships in game. Yes the stock ones that they come with are awesome but seeing 30 centaurs in a PB is weird. They had lions and mermaids and such, this could probably even come out as a $5 DLC and it would get snapped up fast. 3: Custom ship names: Nothing bugs me like seeing a fleet of 74s and all the names are Redoubtable or Bellona. Where's HMS Mars or Thunderer? (Those were just examples, not saying we need those ships). I recommend using the same naming algorithms as you would with chat restrictions so you don't get those troll names or weird characters to make a smiley or some such. Sorry I filled up so much on here.
  12. So...you attack and sink allies who are trying to grind PvE or new players? I hope you realize how much that's shooting yourself in the foot. I know I'm still lobbying for no-one to help your nation again until you guys grasp that these are other players your attacking over and over and over. But hey, when you lose the next port battle b/c your screened out because no-one trusts your nation or cant help because were under-leveled you'll figure it out.
  13. buahahaha, your funny, Sweden seal clubbing french and Dutch? put the booze down buddy, we don't need to do that.
  14. How so? 90% of the players know some things about the history of this time period. I didn't say it had to be now, release of a game doesn't mean "all stop development!" It's something that they could enforce later or something. I'm just coming up with ideas, they don't have to shove it through.
  15. My suggestion is to add some depth/specialization to the shipbuilders/shipyards in the game. Currently any T3 shipyard can build any ship. What I'm proposing is to have these specialized. As the builders/yards are set up require the player to specialize in a particular style of ships. French ships, British, Spanish, American and Baltic (Swedish, Dutch, Danish, Prussian, Russian). This makes it so that while this puts more effort into getting these ships, 1 person cant just pump out L'Oceans and Aggys for everyone, since one is French and the other British. The rigging and perks I don't have an opinion on, that's after market if you think about it.
