  1. Well, if scuffle will not give PvP points, it should be a valid solution to ganking 1 vs 10. On the other hand, could be abused in regular fleet battle, where 4-5 ships could be scuffled as a tactic and the enemy will not take anything. If implemented, should be seen very well by Devs.
  2. Cannons had no aim as for as I know, so (apart from the personal experience of gunners) how they aim to a specific target? Was there some mechanical or whatever help? Any metallic graduate bars maybe? Or simply they used deck line fire as they were line soldier, hoping that "send" 20-30 gun balls, some of them will hit something? More: a ship is definitely not steady in high seas, was there some "trick" to solve the issue for aiming? (whining to Devs was not an option, I suppose) I have another question, but I keep it for next time
  3. I was completely wrong: the Castles are the Castillian origin of the King and the blue shields represent the five Moresque kings defeated in battle by the Portugal King. Very interesting...
  4. I made a little research on the Net. It's definitely Portugal. Did I right guess over the 7 cities in protection of something?

According to Heraldry, and if I remember well, This is a Kingdom (the crown over the big shield, or "arm"), this Kingdom is Christian (the cross over the crown but I dunno if it's Catholic or Protestant), the shield has 7 castles (or maybe cities) in protection of the white core with five little blue shields. It could means that there's five rulers, maybe... a Council. But it's very long time I am not anymore interested in those stuffs... Ok, I give up! Whose belong this arms?
  6. Very sorry if I insist, but with this system ppl jump in a big ship, not knowing how to sail and how to shoot (your words, and I completely agree with you). It's like you give me a very fine, sharp and balanced sword, give me 1/2 hour fencing lesson then promote me as a swordsman and send me in a battle, against pro fencers.

Thank you for your time EDIT it will take a little while to reach Bahamas from KPR (I sail under British flag) but as I said, I have no fear to sail in high seas, but I have to track the safest route.

  10. I have no fear to sail in no safe zones, you all can see me (Martin Connor ingame) often in high seas, with a basic cutter or a Pickle. If I had a bigger ship, I will sail with her. If I cannot avoid a fight, I will do it. It's not a good fight that I avoid. I intentionally avoid a fight that I cannot win, and I think there's no need to explain why, right?
  11. I will gladly play PvP if I am sure to have a chance to win. As a normal player, I accept challenges when I have at least 50% chances to win. I don't play PvP for the sake of PvP and give you free money and experience. Sorry, this is not my style. I play in PvP server because I want to do PvP, but why should I charge headless a ship when I cannot properly sail and shooting? Right now I have still problems to beat NPCs and I have not so much money to rebuy soon a ship: why should I play in instances a quarter of an hour and then farming for a RL day to have the money to rebuy a decent ship?
  12. Well, what did the actual Vets when they were newcomers? Why they become Vets? If you go headless vs players you should know that they could be expert ones and of course they will smash you in a while. More: if you go PvPing without possibility (enough $$$) to rebuild or rebuy a ship, well, it's your fault... You should think about what you are going to do in a PvP skill based game and be ready for the consequences. i am not Vet, neither a middle experienced one, and I am not searching for troubles right now versus too high rank ships. I cannot win them anyway, but the problem is that the 90% of players sail with big ships, so we newcomers cannot training ourselves in good low ranks PvP battles...
  13. Well, shouldn't be better to give the possibility to create a brand new Nation? With time, as in RL, some small ones will disappear (just like clans) and stay only those that made success. It will just a matter of rename Clans as Nations and give the opportunity to create a flag...
  14. So what you miss is the excitement to be a small Nation, searching for places to establish new ports under new flag, am I right?
  15. Boring? Try to sail with a clean rookie brig and provoke some 2nd rank ships...

  18. I have those feelings too: i raised too quickly to really understand what the... i am doing. I mean: really doing. I found myself at my 3th Rank (from below) as Captain and i still suck (a lot) in sailing and in combat. This could be my fault, of course, but gaining next rank from the very first one, happened in a while. It‘s like to have a new job and you have to learn maybe the firm software for your office PC; some days later (you learned very few), your chef promoted to the next rank without any apparent reasons. Thank you, but... Why? I didn‘t even know the name of my collegues...

Well: Devs must copy a huge list of historical ship’s names, create another huge one for additional non-historical but ok for the time names, place them in a folder then add in the game, hoping that will be more names as ships. A possible solution could be when a named ship sinks, the name return free for the first ship available. It will be a big work because Devs will make research on which names were available at those times (possibly divide them per nationality because a Spanish ship will never be called Queen Victoria, for exemple... ). All those are labour’s hours and should be paid with a DLC. Usually i am not a big fan of DLCs, but for cosmetic purposes yes: i will pay for that.
  20. Don’t take as very true all you can hear from the mouth af a sailor, especially if they are old retired ones: they usually mix truth with memoryes from the past. And they mix them again with other sailors’ storyes other sailors tell. Rumors could be true or not, you have to check them personally I wish to introduce Kraken storyes, plus demond ans sea wiches, for they were integral part of sailors’ storyes. P.S. Your RP is interesting too, i will give it a good read later.
  21. As a newcomer, i can say that i never “lost” in NA. For US side player, if they sail E, they could sail than W and they will surely reach US coast. Where, exacly is not important: they can sail N or S along the coast and they will find a city, sooner or later. The point is not to feel lost (IMO is one of the fun parts of the game), the point is IF the newborn seadog wants to “loose time”, leanrning the fundamental of sailing and orientations. If someone doesn’t like to feeling lost, should play NA Legends, in which you cannot have this “nasty” feelings. IMO Devs should add the tools to make it interesting and tell us newcomers that this game is slow and miss-able...
