  1. Here it is, Chickamauga.. One of the toughest battles! I could have kept my losses even lower if i did not push it harder in the first day of bridge crossing.
  2. Indeed, beautiful. So much diversity in the uniforms, i still like the CSA uniforms more. The Union uniforms are too much European. That CSA Major General is one of my favourite.
  3. Well i won at Chickamauga, i faced around 90.000 Yankees with my army of 62.000. I lost 15.000 men and killed 3 times more Union. Before the battle the report said 90K and now it dropped to 71K. Video will be up soon.
  4. Oh and maybe you are right, i just watched pre Chickamauga and he has a bit more rewards. Perhaps he forgot to tick Legend mode on
  5. it shows 94K and both training and weapons 54%-59% at Chickamauga. He had around 200K and training/weapons at almost 80%. So it was wise for him to restart the campaign, would be near impossible to win Washington. Have you thought about Gettysburg strategy? I must say i am impressed with the way History Guy and i went, it is far the best way to go. Just be sure to surround the Unions at day one, because storming cemetery hill won't let you kill that many Yankees.
  6. see you brought 2 artillery units to the battle, that was a good choice. I had too many brigades, two of them which i did not even use. Wish you had pulled back those flanking brigades, one unit got routed. Your losses would be even below 1500 which would be a record for Salem Church i think. Good think Brandy Station is a battle which we don't use our own troops, so you should be around 50.000 at Gettysburg. Have you noticed? We all have politics at 10, but History Guy gets more reward for some of his battles. What would be the cause of the difference?
  7. That is a well executed tactic at Rio Hill, it stretched the Union lines and made them vulnerable. Good win despite the high losses. As for Chancellorsville, in pre Rio i heard you mention a possible day 1 push. But a second day victory is as good, you even get the chance to kill more Union troops. Nice snagging of supplies there on day 1 The Union was pretty aggressive on day 2 i see, they pushed hard all along the line. Did you keep the southern part of your army weaker so you could attack in full force from the north-west? The Union army had 100.000 in your battle, Union army i faced was around 85.000. I wonder how we will go from this point on? If we can make pas Chickamauga with our army intact we should be fine. What do you think? I watched the History Guy YouTube video's and at one point he cancelled his campaign and started over. In his first campaign the intelligence indicator said he faced 200K :S:S almost double what we have.
  8. Siege of Jackson, last battle before Chickamauga: I had to replay this battle several times. I just got overwhelmed in the centre and i kept losing the victory point. So i decided to deploy my strongest brigades up north to draw the attention of the Union. The spot is excellent, next to the river crossing and lots of cover. I managed to draw lots of troops there. I still had to fight in a melee spree to take back the victory point which i had lost for a while nearing the end of the battle.
  9. it is important to destroy most of the Union army at day one without attacking cemetery ridge. After that one can chose the path he likes, more Union kills? Or a swift victory? Yeah i thought the losses were only from day 2, but it was the total casualty number. I have checked my army before and after the battle. thank you can't wait to watch your next set of video's.
  10. Alright generals, here is perhaps the best known bloody battle of the Civil War. Gettysburg! As i mentioned earlier, i opted for the strategy that i saw on the channel of History Guy. Lovely guy that is! His option is maybe the best option i have seen so far. Taking the Little Round Top and holding it just did not work out as planned, i am happy with the result. I lost 10.000 men but killed way more Union troops. I preserved my army, my army even grew past the numbers i had before Gettysburg. I got extra recruits because i captured a lot of men. I can spend reputation on troops and guns. I cut the video, since half of the time i had to wait for the timer to end.
  11. I won! I went for the History Guy strategy, video will be up soon. My army is able to grow even a little bit, which i surely need at the big battle of Chickamauga.
  12. i am playing legendary, and even on BG and MG i did not worry about the scaling. I always was outnumbered, even though my primary goal of each battle was to destroy the enemy ( except a few like Fredericksburg, Antietam, Gettysburg etc.)
  13. Well i have won the battle of Gettysburg twice in a row, i took the objectives day 1 and took and hold Little Round Top. Twice i went with this tactic, but my casualties were pretty high. So i decided to go with the History Guy, wait till the end at day one and attack from all sides including the reinforcements. And skip Little Round Top, but take the cemetery the day after.
  14. have you thought about what to do at Chancellorsville? I tried the first day victory after failing my first attempt to a day two victory. I won on day 1. It is possible, but be aware that the losses will be around 9000-10000. On the other hand, if you go for a day 2 victory you will lose perhaps between 12000-15000 and kill even more Yankees. It is up to you. I killed 15.000 which was sufficient seeing the enemy numbers at Gettysburg.
  15. welcome mate, we all love the game! We also eagerly await the new game which like Koro has said is in the making, no details yet. I have completed CSA and Union campaigns on all difficulties except Legendary. Currently playing CSA Legendary, be free to follow my topic with the campaign progress and YouTube video's. LAVA is another user who is going on with a legendary CSA campaign. He completed the Union campaign on legendary.
  16. Don't know if this has been posted, but i stumbled upon some nice battlefield animated map video's. I find it pretty interesting as it gives a inside look at the battles we fight in the game, the maps are almost identical to the game maps. I love it, they have video's of almost all the big battles.
  17. Good executed battle mate, Union army was utterly destroyed. On to the next set of battles prior to Chansellorsville, i really want to see how you going to fight that.
  18. i saw in videos that on each day you only use up to the third division for each corps so it is wise not to deploy men in the 4th division? Oke, i am not planning to let the phase progress to Culp's Hill. So i have 2 corps day one, and one corps day two.
  19. So i was thinking of course i use my strongest corps on the centre of day 1 attack, a weaker 3rd corps that will come from the north. A stronger second corps will be used day 2 to take and hold big round top. Is that true? What other forces from the first and third corps can i use on day 2? Or is it just core 2 which did not see any action on day 1?
  20. Oh my God... Guess i will go for the total destruction of the Union troops at day 1. And go for the hilltop on day 2. Problem is dividing my 63.000 troops into 3 corps.
  21. At the gates of Gettysburg now, i have an army of 63.000 and face a Union army of 50.000?? Not sure if this is real? Do they count all the troops or will the reinforcements be added later on? Anyway, here is Salem Church and Brandy Station. I failed to record Chancellorsville ( day 1 victory ).
  22. I have failed to win Chancellorsville by going the normal route, so i decided to go for day 1 victory. I won, high cost but still:
  23. Nice victory mate! I really like the way you set up and name your brigades. It is nice to see a Union campaign being actively played at the moment keep it coming. Confederates were very aggressive there i must say, especially in trying to take back the wooded area near the church. They really went at you with charges by multiple units so many dead...
  24. Thank you mate, despite the aggressive approach i suffered less casualties. I was afraid i had like 20.000. Was a bit lucky there at Blackwater, the skirmishers and cavalry decided to charge me over the bridge. So i charged them because the unit holding the bridge redoubt was routed. So i took the chance. You will need all the infantry you can get at the start of the battle at Rio. I saw History Guy used cavalry to destroy the artillery. A perfect decision. Playing Chansellorsville now, at day 2 and i already have lost 7000 men. Now on to the final assault, if i can keep my losses at 4000 max i will be happy to take the victory but i am afraid the frontal assault will cost me more than 7000.
  25. Here is Blackwater and 1st Franklin, 1st Franklin starts at 18:28 Rio Hill:
