So i had a beginner luck with the Confederate to take Cemetary Hill day one. Going to start a Union campaign after i finish this. Lets see how that goes -
Is it true that Gettysburg is a more harder battle for the Union than Confederates? I destroyed the Union by taking the offensive and cornering them at Cemetery Hill. It felt easy but took some time and tactic to capture all the points north.

Thats some great explanation buddy, have followed advises likenl this on this wonderful forum. I still beat the Union with my few numbers. I have now three strong corps and my number increased to 40.000 men. I destroyed the enemy at Gettysburg after cornering them to Cemeteray hill. İ made a mistake not to invest in politics.. my biggest mistake. And like you said i spend way too much on guns. Now i use captured rifles and only elite units have good guns. You have like 3 times more men lol

This is very helpful, thank you. What about ranks as General, Brigadier General? For example, i have General Lee now. What best position is suited for him? İs it wise to let your own character/general in place or appoint yourself elsewhere?

The Civil War commanders fascinate me, i know this isnt the right place to ask buy can anyone recommend a good solid book about the Civil War? One that handles the events prior leading to the war, the war, battles itself and aftermath.

Aha another European Please to meet you. I managed to win both battles, on Bull Run i formed a line in the trees as you said and went on the offensive and took the hill. On antietam i went aggressive and attacked from the north as a distraction but soon pushed them back to the field in front of the church where my main army was. I blocked the first bridge as you said and the second bridge i hold with 2 brigades and arty. They didnt cross the bridge. My army is shattered though

I stumbled upon this game after watching Gettysburg movie in my home in Holland. I thought, let me check some stuff and saw pictures. Watched YouTube videos and was sold immediately. What a wonderful game! I cant sleep the last few days because i was trying to figure out ways to win 2nd Bull Run and Antietam as the rebs. Shall i try out the previeus game too?

I also hope for UG Napoleon. Hope they go for it and add several nation campaigns. This is by far one of the best games i have ever played. Havent tried Gettysburg..

i am currently at Antietam.. i seriously consider starting a Union campaign or a total new Confederate campaign. i cant seem to win or draw Antietam, i just have very few troops to do anything. Any help is appreciated.. i can post my army if you want. Update: Tried 3 times yesterday and after watching 2 videos on here i managed to beat the Union by being more aggressive and swinging the door shut from the north towards the church. However my army is destroyed, hard win... have 350.000 to rebuild

damn i had a good run at the battle, but i saved and tried to re-load the battle but it wont let me is this normal? it loads me back to the battle map. sucks... going to have to start all over again update: OMG! I won i held Stone Wall for a couple of turns, then went on the offensive and secured the hill. Lucky my older save was lost lol

I am having the same problem, maybe i made a mistake during the course of the campaign but i won all battles and lost none. Draw Shiloh and Mallvern Hill. I get my ass kicked first try with 2nd Battle of Bull Run. I lost my cavalry and a whole lot of infantry during the first phase where you have to lure the enemy. I will try to use your tips, but something tells me my force wont be able to do the job got no cash, only a few battalions have good rifles. See attachments for my army.
