  1. I have had some connection issues the last few hours.
  2. Don't attack the Americans, they'll ragequit again.
  3. So you fight in the newbie zones only? Jeez, the quality of US players has hit rock bottom, even queen of clowns just runs away from fights.
  4. TDA went pirate? NO! We don't need more newbies crowding our hunting grounds
  5. Of course no one is going to defend those ports, the americans ragequit months ago.
  6. I blame the aussies for setting port battle timers for EU timezones to avoid being attacked by the US pirate players. Literally nothing to do in our timezone but fish.
  7. Snoggy

    An apology...

Join the Sea Shepherds, we gotta protect the fish!
  8. When attacking a shallow water port, you only have to destroy tower A. Whilst attacking atwood, we destroyed tower C and were a bit miffed that it didn't capture the port... so we went on to destroy A and won the battle. So technically you only have to destroy one tower..... it just has to be tower A, the furthest one back.
  9. I would like to report Sea Hagg, and One Hung Longfellow, both pirates, for ganking newbie brits off the coast of Belize. Newbies sailing in their connies and first rates should not have to fear being tagged by these miscreants. These are terrible people who prey on the weak and innocent.
  10. Every night on the SORRY teamspeak ends up as a drinking story.
  11. Fishing's in, officers and a few other things. New items to craft, new buildings....
  12. patch notes are up, problem is they are in russian, we must await translation.
  13. I hate to point out a flaw in your commentary, but the bit about the US pushing into the bahamas and thus encroaching on pirate PvE is false. Most americans have ports in Atwood and Pitt's Town, both closer than the bahamas. And they use those ports, and La Tortue, to attack the pirates......
  14. Isn't it against the rules for pirates to attack friendly pirates? So if pirate A is attacked by person B, and Pirate B joins and ends up on person B's side, but is in the same society as the first pirate..... it would be illegal for him to attack either player?
  15. Well you have pirates in-game. Seem a might silly to put pirates into a time period where they didn't exist. Then again, you have the american nation in game, at a time when the united states didn't exist.
  16. I don't see where people think this game is set in the 1830's. Golden age of piracy was 1726.
  17. Having the blueprints and merely holding ports does not a navy make. If it did, we'd have pirate ships of the line and no one would say boo. Fact of the matter is, the US navy didn't possess anything larger than the connie and essex, so limit them just as you plan to limit pirates. It's only fair and just and 'historically accurate'.
  18. Another nice video to help keep me abreast of the biffo out east.
  19. How can you mix a century worth of ships into one setting and call that accurate?
  20. Just like them yachts I see cruising around in-game?
  21. Hey we've got 25 victories and santisimas and constitutions sailing around, why not?
  22. Name one American first rate built between, well, let's say 1700 and 1800. Actually, since the US Navy didn't really exist until 1794, and the united states until 1776... which is far beyond the age of piracy, the united states shouldn't even really be a nation at all.
  23. I'd like to see the spanish SoL's modeled more on galleons... the brits and dutch and all them nasty euros can have their ships modeled after the standard SoL's. US can have large 4th rates, the connies, essex and such. Give the norwegians viking ships! Pirates can get up-gunned, crewed and faster versions of the smaller sloops, cutters and brigs. The heavy rattlesnake for example.
  24. Newp, pirates tended to prefer faster, shallow draft ships, and I entirely agree that the pirates should be limited to smallerish craft and raiding methods... no line battles etc. But, in the same vein, the 'Golden Age of Piracy' only peaked around 1726.... so throwing in ships designed 1812 and onward is far out of reach of plausibility. And really, there was only ever one Victory, one Santisima, one Constitution... the idea of popping into a battle with 25 of any of them is ludicrous. In the end though, if the nation players want to start counting beans, you have to count all of them, not just the ones that suit you.
