  1. So you are adding a very complex crafting system for the ships. The level of detail is commendable, this is like crafting ships 3.0... and we're being forced to do it in a UI 0.4 you made mention of perhaps delivering a UI release soon. If not PLEASE just do a bit of work and tweaking to at leave make it a UI 0.6 and be somewhat manageable. automatic stacking on xfer, double click auto transfer, and mouse area selection to select multiple stacks. No more "no room in wharehouse" for breaking up ships when almost all the items being put into the wharehouse have current stack slots which are ignored and treated as new stacks. Danka

  3. Well Actually I am, however I interviewed with Gamer's First (APB) and they passed (Gaming is the most demanding of Programmer Industries). Granted I had 72 hours to program a full chat system in Windows WCF services and had 0 experience with it, two words: Amazon NextDay. As a programmer I can attest two directions that can be taken in programming a. Getting it done on time b. Getting it done right. There are some that choose "a," wont mention any names (cough: EA). But the correct answer is "b," so lets enjoy what has IMO been a quite stable game. Is Game Labs going to land on a Micro Transaction Model? (It would be a shame to have this game not last too far past release) P.S. Sid Meirs Pirates was my all time and perhaps best game ever developed!
  4. I think maximum fun would be all nations allied against the one non nation scourge 'til their down to one port. Then well start from a with more historically correct pirate faction. ;-P Then we go one about the business of warfare between nation states, but as soon as the rats get a port boom cease fire 'til it's back in the hands of a legitimate government. ... oh and Mortimer Town area is an FFA gank zone where only rats are ganked.
  5. It seems that effort is being made to improve quality of life for traders. Some of us may have large stockpiles of resources, going in and suddenly changing the price on an item can have a devastating impact. Couldn't a database query be developed to make financial compensation to people based on the item / qty they have? otherwise...
  6. That's nothin broa. We and some friends (back before there was a DRUNK) used to run around with DrunkenSloth. He was kind of like that young kid who always hangs around but... We were in a battle with like a full AI fleet and this sloth guy was like soo into undercrewed ships (loosing them that is). We're all sailing along and he's like OH F^&*K ima need a new ship. We like: What happened?, He Like: I got Boarded Dude got boarded and capped by AI * Favorite Story of all time Now we got like 10+ Mini DrunkenSloths running around unable to do anything productive.

By the way I think the sweedish nation shall also know that the clan that attacked sweedish ports has done so with the help and support of DRUNK That's right the treasonous heretics would not even defend sweedish ports from the very nation they claim to hate. Try that fact on.
  8. Lets talk a bit about false information. Your whole clan is a false flag, you fly the under the Sverige banner but it's widely known that your clan promotes the interests of the British nation. Your clan leader is a known British operative/sympathizer and instigator and that makes you either the same or a misled captain. So now who is False? By and large clans named after a particular player are just pathetic and usually an indicator of very low quality leadership, your clan tends to bear that fact out. Nearly your entire clan is on my ignore list, recently some members were working towards gaining some level of respect with the Swedish council. But alas the sheer volume of ignorant and misguided forum posts almost assures that DRUNK will never gain any level of real respect in the Sverige nation. I very rarely post any responses to DRUNKs so make special note because it will be a rare moment of even passing recognition of your clan by me :-P
  9. Am I missing something I do not see anything about this critical feature, many times more important than the "choices" we've been given for the next release. Seems that it would be fairly simple as well.   10. well if you are going to PvP1 for the fun might I suggest Sverige. Granted not everyone is competent enough to play for the "mission impossible" faction but those of us who are have made it "mission boatloads of fun." just sayin'

  12. I am on the 04-06 timezone, we used to have more sweedish players for those times but many left. There is me and a few others however we are definitely the most active group (Sweedish Council) and fun can be had at all times. PM sent
  13. Somebody promote this guy ! Better late than never I suppose... (RP crap talk included) The Dutch had secured a forward base at Terre-de-Bas which sent a very clear message that it was there intention to attack the crown of Sweden. Through the diplomatic channels they sent word to the King of Sweden that they were only there as a defensive measure as they felt threatened. The King was not fooled and dispatched his fleets to the Plymouth and Saint John areas. Their scouts, some in 3rd rates, began probing the southern flank of Swedish Sovereign territory and were shocked at the number and depth of the Swedish fleets. Their scouts and patrols were chased back and sunk mercilessly. The Dutch abandoned their plans of conquest and so lost Terre-de-Bas a short time later. The King was so informed that the Swedish economy was crippled and that the Live Oak and Silver needed to secure the homeland was in short supply or non existent. The King is his wisdom did not want an opportunity to slip away and given the Dutch hostilities decided to carefully embark on a conquest of the Dutch ports to liberate the needed materials for Sweden and to show the world that in fact Sweden was a Naval Power to be respected. With the tireless work of his commanders, advisors, and diplomats the objectives of the King are being realized. From the Swedish perspective...
  14. Our diplomatic corps are always available. I think there are 2 main factors they you will need to address in order to end the current conflict: 1) Abandon your unrealistic expectations that we need to make lots of concessions, 2) Have a solid block of DE clans that are going to agree to the peace, for example we are all subjects of the King and the King rules Sweden if he sais peace there will be peace.

  19. We offer you no material support, since you cant even field a ship without someone else (KF) building it for you I suggest you find new ship suppliers. Any why is it that you need new ships every day? We'd really appreciate it if you would become self supporting and send your own materials to the bottom of the ocean instead of leaning on the sverige clans you so despise. Remember that AI battle we fought a couple weeks back where you got your ship boarded in taken by an NPC that was funny as hell, good times man hope you have better luck against AI in the future...
  20. YES. I'm saying that there should be a logical limitation to the amount of ports that can be capture in a short amount of time. I find it hard to belive that you really advocate for that wholeheartedly. As it sits now you could go out and capture ports just as easily as doing a mission if you have the money. This post wasn't a poor me I'm a sweed and I just got steamrolled. It was an analysis of an as yet unvetted game mechanic. Actually your right in that my post isn't the solution because it could be exploited by an enemy spy acting to artificially inflating the cost of flags. I posted the original but I was not the one who came up with the idea, neither am I the originator of the following better idea: Each player can participate in unlimited port battle defenses but can only participate in 2 offensive port battles in a 24 hour server day. Thus us a more elegant way to bring some logic to NA war logistics. This is meant to spur conversation to,a solution to what I believe to be an important game mechanic blind spot. All views appreciated greatly.
  21. So I'm not sure if everyone has seen the latest on the EU1 server but the Danish faction took out 50% of the French ports and 80% of the Swedish ports in one 4-6 hour session. Hats of to the Russians, who although they reportedly had a shady path to so many third rates, their organizational skills, game tactics, and fighting is UBBER. Heres the problem: No nation should be able to practically wipe out 2 complete factions and take 14 some ports in a single day. Not only is this completely inaccurate from both a historical perspective it makes no sense in the game mechanic itself. Heres the solution: Rule of diminishing returns on port battles. For each flag that is purchased during a server day the cost factor for flags goes up X2. So if a flag costs 500K, the next one will be 1M, and 2M and 4M for the next. If you have 1 faction with unstoppable might the entire map could be subjugated in less than a week with the current mechanics. A better solution: Not only do the port battles cost more each flag purchased but they are divided as a whole amount between a nation's ports. For instance lets say the entire pool is 20M for a nation, a nation with 40 ports the base cost would be 500K per port, for a nation with 5 ports it would be 4M per. (these are rough figures but you get the point) It should be relatively easy to battle for control of the majority of the map but quite difficult to destroy a faction and consequently the game for all it's players. Unless Gamelabs has an easy pipeline of gamers to replace the ones that leave because their game quality of life has dropped through the floor.

I'd like to know why a) Even when it was clear to the devs that certain players from countries were exploiting experience getting massive 3rd rate fleets ahead of everyone else in the game why was nothing done to prevent Why is it possible for one country to take 14 ports in a single day (Given inaction on A it was a predictable result), so how is taking 14 ports per day anywhere near historically accurate. So the trouncing of sweeden has destroyed the gameplay experience for many sweedish faction game players because of conditions a & b. When I picked sweeden I knew it was "impossible" but something needs to be done to prevent XP exploitation and game mechanics that allow whole nations to be flattened in a day. Get real I don't care about another ship, regulate conquests in some way that makes the game usable and punish the Leveling exploiters by making them start from lvl 0 again.
