Thing is that after each major patch that they finish working on they create a poll for the players to decide which game aspect they should work on and improve next, after the vote they give pretty realistic time frames in which they plan to implement it. So making and following a long term plan is kinda impossible with this approach.
  2. Well the upcoming month we will get the port battle patch witch will hopefully spark some new life to RvR, at the moment the majority of players i spoke with got burnt out from the 24/7 port battles fliping 30-40 ports back and forth each day with no consequences or motivation

Yeah but if building the said death ball would require the entire nation funneling its resources towards it, neglecting the enemy threat witch in the mean time could overrun you with smaller ships, loosing ports and economical power ( needs an economy rework and make ports have an actual use for it though ). Im fairly certain you would see a bigger variety of ships in PB (not to mention how painful it would be to loose the said death ball or even part of it). But yeah it cant be proven until its tested i guess
  4. On a personal perspective i really hope artificial ship limitations will be removed somewhere in the future from Port Battles and big ship will be limited by their cost and time to build and maintain.
  5. Use the 100 - 250 meter sector focus for rough estimates on distances ( well use them in general, since they give you a better fire angle)
  6. If by indecisive you mean lasting for more than 10 minutes then yeah, i do quite enjoy those. On a serious note though at medium range line ships still damage each other quite decently and at close range they melt each other faces after 9.82 (granted you use carronades on the weather decks). The only issue with this i see is defenders winning a port battle by avoiding going into fighting ranges, which from what i understand will soon be addressed in the new port battle patch. Really hope you dont revert them to the slow frigates that they were pre damage model 5.0. As for marines, i dont think its just that mod that is broken, but the entire system being in a need of a rework. Does anyone here even use musket volley and fire gun decks ?

  8. Join a clan if you are looking for someone to play and talk to, Most large clans usually supply their members with ships and im fairly certain they will give you pointers.
  9. Before this can be even considered you need to rework boarding in general not to make it into who presses the button at the last second meta, and seriously nerf boarding mods. Seriously gold boarding mods at the moment make the same difference as having a 46 cm Yamato gun upgrade on your line ship would be
  10. not 100% certain but i think he ment structure as in the HP on the sides, not the armor thickness
  11. They lowered the armor of all ships and increased cannon penetration switching the effective engagement to ~500 meters instead of the 300-250, but no you still wont be able to dismast a Santisima shooting 6 pounder pebbles from 10km away.

From the majority of negative steam reviews i have read (i find it hilarious in the first place when a person with over 1000 hours into the game gives it a thumbs down) and from people i personally have played with whom have quit or put the game on hold the biggest issue is the lack of end game content and not the Pirate mechanics im sad to say. And again if you stop to think part of the reason why the issue gets worse and worse as you put it is because of people with a mentality like yours. One thing i will agree is that this game released way to early on steam with so little end game content.

That is one idea that you and a handful of other players may think to be good, but for the handful that think its that easy theres also a hundred Pirates that will think they are getting screwed over. The issue with Pirates is that they touch a huge amount of the player base and is literally the hardest thing in this game to balance currently without earning a shit storm from one side of the player base or the other. So yeah i will rather discuss it in the forums, offer my suggestions hear out the problems other people see with my suggestions, witch will hopefully help the developers in the shaping of this game mechanic, instead of breaking the game to go on strike, getting a rushed temporary solutions that will impose more problems than it solves.
  14. As shocking as it may seem to you it indeed takes more than just snapping two fingers together to develop content. We were yelling for diplomacy and developers announce the major patch for it will come next month, not to mention us getting multiple mini patches along the way. Even if during that development period suddenly we decide that another part of the game needs more attention, that content will not magically appear. They have been working on port battles and diplomacy for the past month, the fact that we all go on strike trying to break the game with Pirate mechanics, does not mean that the month they spend will be reverted in time. So yeah you are literally acting like a spoiled child, trying to ruin the game for the current player-base, and enforcing developers to rush half ass'ed content, lowering the games quality in the long run... gg. Hopefully not all people share your views.

  16. And witch issues are not discussed by tens or even hundreds of players ? Crafting and Blueprints ? The general economy ? Port Battles ? Combat Mechanics ? From what i have seen on these forums the developers actually ask the community what their priority should be. A few months ago people deemed player production buildings to be the main goal, as did they deem Diplomacy/Port Battles/Pirate Mechanics as the main focus for now. And for a small company i would say they are delivering at quite a decent pace. So yeah instead of trying to abuse and break the game i would like to encourage people, not to rush the developers to bring out half ass, untested content by breaking the game.
  17. So your option on fixing it, is to totally abuse the broken part, crippling the game for the few people that actually try to enjoy and test it, potentially having them leave the game, and forcing the developers to rush content. I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
  18. Well they are making a 3 day timer on ports after conquest in tomorrows patch i think, and the main change to port battles comes next month if all goes well, witch will lead to less, but actually contested port battles.
  19. Well including Dutch to that was primary based of one dutch chap that rerolled to the British side and said that the Dutch have a very small though insanely active community. Not sure how true it is reflected and i guess we wont know until the developers post that, though i assume they are afraid to post data like that with all the shit storm they would get from players about pirates
  20. PVP1, you can actually check that in game through the find player function btw, and im not talking about the territory they hold but the actual player base.
  21. Hello pot its me kettle... I specially like when you talk about the tyranny of the British picking on small defenseless nations, when the 3 smallest nations on the map (Swedes, Dutch, USA) are being constantly stomped by the Pirate/Spanish/Danish/French alliance

  23. Putting a one hour cool down on "send to outpost" would literally mean that if i capture 2 enemy ships in fast succession i have to leave one of my prizes ? I would much rather see what a lot of people have already suggested, of the ship that you send to the outpost taking time to get to the outpost depending on the distance, or better yet the ship sailing in open world captained by an NPC As for the smuggler abuse of flags, couldn't pirates do that from the beginning of time ?
  24. The only issue i heard some people that got merged from pvp 3, was that they apparently lost ships that were put on the auction at the moment of the merge if im correct. So just in case i would suggest taking ships of sale when and if the merge comes.
  25. So in order to pvp more because of lack of targets you decided to leave the nation that is at war with every other major nation from every side of the map and join the pirates that stomp empty US ports ? The logic behind this reason is mind numbing
