  1. Yes, but the problem of Ames is actually his Division commander (Barlow's). He did a very bad choice to rush to defend Blocher's Knoll and the result was to abandon their positions almost just after they had Early's troops in sight.
  2. Though we are trying to keep the minimum possible controls in favor of simplicity, this is not a bad idea.
  3. Please report again if the problems are still there after the last patch (0.81 rev.4590).
  4. Please check our thread and Common technical problems and solutions . After you are sure that you have the latest VGA drivers installed and the problem is still there, attach here the output_log.txt and if possible the dxdiag.txt (see there where you can find them).

    Crash Error

Hi DocSky. Sorry for the problem you've met. Can you please try this: go in C:\users\<user name>\AppData\LocalLow and delete the Game Labs folder (game will create a new one in next run). If you are familiar with registry changes, open registry (Start, search for regedit and then run regedit.exe) and search (Edit menu) for Ultimate General: Gettysburg entries. Find the one with the screen resolutions and delete it. Restart the game.
  6. We did several adjustments hoping to solve the problem with the last patch but it seems there are still some pending issues on this. So it remains on the top of the bug list for the next patch or hotfix.
  7. Hi AerosolNinja, thanks for feed back. We'll investigate the issue.
  8. Have you tried to alternatively use Tab key (instead of mouse middle button) and move your mouse left right? Rotation is very smooth and easy to be done in this way.,
  9. Currently there is not a speed button. After the last patch the battle pace has reduced significantly. In short game's guide and in Options you can see all available key functions.
  10. Hi TJStonewallJckson. We are very sorry for your problem. Though CTD errors were limited after last patch, it seems we have not eliminated them completely. It is still in highest priority for the next patch. Does crash what ever you click on menu? Can you get in video options and change screen resolution? If you can, please try to see if in a lower resolution the game will run.
  11. Hi everybody! The Ai is under constant revision by Nick. As noted we do not use cheat bonuses for the Ai. If we did it would be a piece of cake to make the player's opponent always with better stats no matter what side the Ai is. However, we've chosen the hard way to make a real Ai. An additional headache for Nick is that, as far as the game will be improved in EA and new features/improvements are added, a new re-balance must be implemented and this sometime takes a while. With your valuable feed back Nick will make his magic with the Ai and the opponents balance. About the units, there are already some superior and elite brigades (see the golden stars at the bottom of their commander's portrait) based on historical facts. Soon we'll start a thread to ask suggestions about renaming some more brigades to the historical names they used like Louisiana Tigers, etc.
  12. OOB and Generals improvements are in our to do list.
  13. Cerebus, you've touched the head of the needle!
  14. You will have a small taste of cavalry engagements in some scenarios of the third days when Suart and Kilpatrick throw some of their briagades in the battle.
  15. Hi Riekopo! Thanks for your comment. It would be very helpful to point us some of these issues you have noticed.
  16. The current presented Generals are actually the Corps stuff, including the Division commanders. In our plans Division commanders are included as separated units with deferent special abilities than those of Corps command, but we need to implement these features cautiously, after heavy testing. Currently we like to see how the Corps commander will go and get the results that will allow us to extend them further.
  17. Third day's maps are quite large already with tenths of thousand of soldiers. Heaving the whole map would demand a very powerful machine with exotic specs. This can be done, perhaps in the future, with a version of UG:G exclusively for PC. But even in this case the men/sprite scale should be significant larger than the current 9:1, for having some 150.000 soldiers on the field. Reinforcements come from their historical directions on the field, CS from North and West, US from the South. However there are, if i may use this term, two "kind" of reinforcements. The first are those that come from far, as the two armies converge in Gettys during the first Day. The second one are forces already deployed and move from one position to another. For example, when you fight at Devil's Den map, you see only the Union left flank (of their "hook" total deployment) at southern Cemetery ridge and the Little Round Top. You cannot see the center or the right flank on Culp's Hill, but it "is" there.. According the scenario and the historical facts, US reinforcements can move from the center to support the defenders on little Round Top. In this case you will see Union forces coming from the North (like Stannard's brigade) or the North West (like Sykes'V Corps). They are actually moving from the center or the back line reserves to support their left flank.
  18. Thank you for you comments! We are working to limit these cases. However in some cases that the AI units meet those of player's on their retreat route, or found surrounded, may retreat in the wrong way. Skirmishers are actually dismounted cavalry. Some technical limitations, defined by the followed doctrine of using the less possible resources in order the game is playable in multi-platforms and by machines with "humble" specs and hardware, forced us not to add cavalry units with dismounting abilities, horse artillery, etc. We are trying constantly to improve their behavior. On the other hand, with the exception of the opening battle skirms do not play a significant role in the battle flow.
  19. In next weekly patches there will be improvements in terrain topography.
  20. Hi R.E.B Blunt! You mean that while fighting for the VP the battle finished before the red bar was full? Do you remember if the 2 min. count down had started before that engagement?
  21. LoS and terrain topography are under constant improvement. Changes will be implemented in weekly patches.
  22. A battle gets delayed if units are engaged or there's a fight for a victory point. You can take advantage of this function to get the longer delay (until the red time bar is full), or avoid the delay. Please check the short guide for more details on time bar: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/746-online-short-guide/
  23. You can change the LoS function if it will be on (default, only the selected unit's LoS appears) or off (total LoS appears) in Options, Gameplay. The second case is the old way, where you can see the individual LoS by holding shortly the left click on the unit.
  24. Hi Beserko! That is the best way to use your General, your theory is correct. The generals inspire all the units, however they are most effective with the units they have under their command (belong to the same Corps). Check also our short guide for more infos on the generals: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/746-online-short-guide/
