  1. I see nothing wrong here? Friendly is no port taking, simple, line drawn we attack no ports to the south they attack no ports the the north, simple. I know it may be hard for someone as limited as you to understand but it is that simple. We did help the Pirates where we could when you Brits came in and said "we are taking your ports so we can go fight the pirates". We are not big enough to fight a two front war and the Pirates have been times more honorable than you. Unlike some of the other nations to the south we know who the real enemy is.
  2. I switched to the PvP 2 server from the PvP 1 server about a week ago. Played USA on PVP1, knew that the USA on PvP2 was way over populated so I went looking for a smaller faction to join. Checked France first and the reception was lukewarm at best (was even called a spy haha). Spent a couple of hours sailing around to all their ports looking at what resources they had available to them while trying to get a since of what their numbers and goals where. After a couple of hours I decided to try Sweden to see what numbers they had, within 5 minutes of talking in chat I had a TS login info and a clan invite and an offer of a ship to go fight in a PB at Fort Baai. I found the place to be I do believe. We have 10 to 15 on most nights US prime time in our clan, not sure of total for nation yet. We have a no port take pact with the Pirates to the south, but open PvP with them. To the North with the incoming Brit/US zerg things I think will be heating up on that front soon. Danes just to our north I don't know what their numbers are like and haven't seen many of them.
  3. USA player from PvP1 looking to move to PvP2, who has a decent number on during US prime time other than the USA? Looking for organized clan that uses TS or some other voice program and is interested in the RvR game play. Ship wize I'll be starting from scratch, but my craft level is 22.
  4. Great thread, hope you can keep it up to date as ships are developed. As for ratings I would use in game rates, as players without the extensive knowledge of age of sail will be confused with your list when in game if they are looking at a specific rate and they don't see the ship listed there. Yep but many ships traded hands and some more than once. I would list as country of origin.
  5. Which ones, I got info from the "List of ships and other vessels in game" thread. Which are: 1. Rattlesnake 20 guns 2. Essex (missed now corrected) 42 guns 3. Indefatigable 44 guns 4. Indiaman 42 guns 5. Ingermanland 64 guns 6. Bucentaure 68 guns 7. Ocean Class 118 guns I did not list the Xebec because no guns size is stated. The Niagara is listed as premium because it does not show up in the list of ship rates when you are in port, when it does I'll no longer think of it as premium, but until then meh....
  6. What we have now. 8 to 18 guns = 6 ships 20 to 28 guns = 3 ships, 1 ship premium (Niagara) & 1 ship started 30 to 38 guns = 4 ships 40 to 48 guns = 0 ships & 3 ships started one being a merchant and the other a razeed 5th rate 50 to 58 guns = 2 ships 60 to 68 guns = 0 ships & 1 ships started 70 to 78 guns = 2 ships 80 to 88 guns = 1 ship & 1 ship started (Bucentaure per info below) 90 to 98 guns = 0 ships 100 plus guns = 2 ships & 1 ship started gee I wonder were the holes in this line up are and why we need another 32 gun ship? Now I just read somewhere on here that they plan to do about 15 ships this year (not from a dev but a mod, lets hope this is true). Can we get maybe a vote for a small (8 - 28) medium (30 - 68) and large (70 - 100+) ship instead? <---- gist of my post here, 3 votes!
  7. Some clarifications: So I can make plans. 1. So we really have all day on the 19th and until 9pm CET (2:00 PM USA Central Time Zone) on the 20th to log on to get these "exceptional" ships. But do we have all day on the 21st to log on as well? So head start is really a day and a half or 2 and half days? 2. Depending on Valve's 3 day release time frame does that mean release may not happen until the 23rd or 24th? 3. What time on the 19th will serves be up, 12:00 AM CET (midnight)?(5:00 PM US Central Standard time on the 18th) time zones are important here!
  8. Well it was listed in the merchant thread. And now I see Winds post for it (he didn't put the name of it in the post). And I know French ships are not in this round but a lack of merchant ship how about something like: Le Mercure, merchant ship (1730) http://ancre.fr/en/m...chand-1730.html Maybe a better poll would be type or rate of ship first, then list ships of those types/rates we would like? Example would be: 1st Rate 2nd Rate 3rd Rate 4th Rate 40 to 50 guns 30 to 40 guns 20 to 30 guns less then 20 guns merchant ships As the first poll then find ships for that type. My opinion is we need 4ths and merchants more than any others at this point.
  9. I was USA and not grouped, and there were two others from USA. I think 1 made it in. There where 11 British and 10 Dutch and it looked like it took 20 of them leaving 1 out and the other nations with 2 to 3 each were left out is what it looked like to me.
  10. I was one that was left out. In all about 10 of us. From what I gathered we were all small ships of Snows or lower.
  11. Any ship or rank requirements? I might be able to cap a snow by then! hum...... TS info in the other post still good?
  12. The Traf battles I saw on youtube is what brought me here. I have only been playing 3 days, and the first I did a lot of new character's to check out most of the start locations. I have most of Saturday to myself as the wife and daughter are busy so would love to get into a battle, but I only have a yacht and JL rank. But I can sink with the best of them (that's why my character name is Isink Alot)! So what time of the day do these occur?
  13. Beautiful Map indeed! Only thing we need now is an interactive one that shows all the resources for each port when clicked. Anyone know how to do that?
  14. Beautiful work! Here is as far as I got on it for PotBS. I like yours better.
  15. I started this for POTBS a long time ago and got to this point before user content came to an end. Plan She was a demi-batterie of 38 guns. French demi-batterie ships were designed specifically for commerce raiding and were larger than their British counterparts.
