  1. Some Pyrates glower at thee, "Heh, he be wonton the good stuff." One affable fellow strides up and ASk to sit next to thee… He is tall, clean shaven and well dressed, wearing a small sword and a brace of pistols.
  2. "Whine?" She said, putting her one hand on her hip, "Yeah, I got plenty o whine! Mum, I'm hungry! Mum, I don't feel well! Mum, my sibling just died! Wot ye won't Whine for, ye prattling toff?" She proceeded to scold the gentleman, giving her a false sense of superiority.
  3. A silence overcame the dingy, smoke filled tavern. The Spaniard was surly the focus of scrutiny by the forty or so brigands, and their wenches, occupying the nefarious establishment… A nubile and chesty bar wench strode up to the well dressed man; "Whats your poison?" She asked sardonically.
  4. So I be in the Chimera, raiding and pillaging a trade ship, When A feller shows in a big square-rigger with his two cronies... I figure its about time to go, when another two fellers show up in their big square riggers and their cronies! Now They be upwind o me, so I can't be running away in any direction but down-wind, where they be at their fastest, and I bee at my slowest... Wouldn't ye knows it though, the Chimera was faster anyhows! I bid them a fond farewell, and reminded them's that Pagan Pete bain't so easily hung! [_]P Yarr har har!

  6. I can't be telling ye wot the secret words be. They be secret!
  7. It be the same name. Just clarifying, wot as I couldn't edit the title o the previous post, and it were requested I do so, so i did, is that a run-on sentence?
  8. Captains of the Black Flag If ye see a Pyrate with the handle [BLACK], That be us! Teasmspeak: in transition.... Read the Articles below, and If ye be Interested in Join us, Drop me or one of our Officers a PM when we are online! Pagan Pete, Ferrus Pugnum, Honourable Bluetooth, Nick the Cursed & Pyrate Blackbeard, Pirate Ned Low, many more! Note: Pagan Pete don't give orders his fellow Captains of the Black Flag. Cap'ns are free to do as they please as long as it in keepin' with the Articles of the [BLACK] Articles: Article I: No man shall attack another of the Captains of the Black Flag Clan, unless by mutual consent. Article II: A Capn who wishes to sell Maser Craft or Exceptional ships, upgrades, Officers, etc… Shall first offer it up to his Captains of the Black Flag mates, so the Clan will be strengthened. Article III: Ship crews are free to draw up their own articles, as long as they do not contradict the articles of the Captains of the Black Flag Clan. Article IV: Members of the Captains of the Black Flag shall come to the aid of fellow [BLACK] captains in battle. Exception; Cap'ns need not aide, when carrying extremely precious cargo such as gold or crafting notes, which may be lost as a result. Article V: No member of the Captains of the Black Flag shall issue a challenge to another nation or clan, without first bringing it to a vote before the clan council. If ye wont a private duel with someone not of the BLACK, please inform yer fellow Captains, so we don't come to your rescue and ruin it. Article VI: Members of theCaptains of the Black Flag may sail with friends of other nations or clans, but may NOT violate Articles One, Four, Five, etc… This is inviolate. Members must abide by the articles even if this means turning on the aforementioned friend. The Captains of the Black Flag must come first. Friends may come to the main deck channel, but the other decks be reserves for Captains of the Black Flag. Article VII: Members shall NEVER share information regarding; Secret words, Clan activities or Member activities to outsiders. Article VIII: Don't be a pratt in chat. That is to say, don't make it personal & keep the cursin' to a minimum. Article IX: Captains of the Black Flag shant attack other pyrates, unless they be known pyrate killers on the inter-clan black list. Captains of the Black Flag is one of the oldest pyrate clans and hosts a wealth of knowledge in many areas, including seamanship, crafting, boarding, trading, etc. BLACK has gained a reputation among other nations as a ferocious and relentless group. The Captains don't recruit as readily as some other clans do because we believe in training our new members and getting to know them well, so that new blood feels fully part of the pyrate family. Captains of the Black Flag gets along very well with other pyrate clans, BLACK operates on the principles of FREEDOM and EQUALITY for all its members, and set the standard for having clan accords that work in the game whist keeping true to the spirit of piracy. Captains of the Black Flag encourages, but does not require, role play. Do not join BLACK if you are not a true pyrate. See your doctor for boarding actions lasting more than four hours.
  9. So, where the heck have I been? Pagan Pete been takin a vacation, what while the updates sort themselves out.
  10. Meet my newest threat! The Chimera! Faster and more powerful that the UNDEFEATED Wraith!
  11. This would solve a lot of problems while adding a layer of immersion to the game. +3
  12. So I just crafted me newest ship! Faster and better than the aging, and undefeated, Wraith. Baint settled on a name yet. Any suggestions?
  13. Historical precedence. I agree, as crew provisions and treatment were a HUGE factor on crew morale. Many pyrates were actually mutineers who had marooned the officers, due to bad treatment. Also, merchant crews certainly would not fight for a captain who treated them poorly, often refusing to fight or even sail the ship when attacked! Pagan Pete gives this a +3
  14. DAM!!!! I forgot to put Pyrates get a 'false flag' option, with a cool down timer.
  15. Yarrr, Was so cold last night, one cabin boy weren't enough! Had to go grab a powder monkey too.
  16. Captains of the Black Flag has a few vicious, bloodthirsty, Ockers in their ranks.
  17. Speaking out of character for a moment…. Iv'e read a large number of historical books on the golden age of piracy, and the factors underlying it (geography, economics, politics, societal and class issues… etc...) Two things are most in need of correcting according to the many historical references I've read; The worlds navies or the world were loathe the send navy ships out to catch pyrates, due to the almost constant state of war between nations during the is period. It was both cost prohibitive and tactically disadvantageous to keep Navy ships on station to protect trade. Pyrates preferred to keep to small, swift vessels that could overtake prey & outrun the few naval vessels sent after them. In suggestions are; Pyrates should not get ships larger than Frigates. Pyrates should be able to modify their ships somewhat (according to their crafting skill) to add additional guns (Historically accurate), carry larger crews (historically accurate), or make the ship faster by making the deck flush (Historically accurate). Pyrates should get a "False Flag" option on a cool down timer. <<<Edit, because I forgot. And; no one should not get reinforcement options because they did not exist. (This may require tweaking to sort out any potential abuses if BR, but i think a change to the BR system would be a better solution) All Fleets should be limited to ONE (1) A.I. consort vessel. (To enhance security, without de-personalizing the game.) An economic factor should come into play, to motivate nations to suppress piracy when too many trade ships from that nation are taken. Yarrr, and a mug o rum [_]P Pagan Pete
  18. Actually, there is significant historical records of the period. Which leads me to the suggestion I am about to post in the appropriate sub-section. (Eddy 'as been 'elpin' me wot with me grammar-speak)
  19. Tis true! yesterday a St. Pavel and a frigate attacked one of our privateers. Seems a bit of a disparity exists in the current rules, wot where large ships are allowed to attack ships they cant catch, but small ships aren't allowed to attack ships the cant sink. Now, I'm all fer folks tryin to hang us Pyrates, makes it more immersive like. Best adapt ones tactics to aviod hangin... ____O-|-<
  20. So I were our with me fellow Captains of the Black Flag today. Teamed up with some o me mates and we took on a British frigate. I were hearing good reports of our activities from me flow captains, and I were pleased with with the infamy we be makin! So the tree of us take on this frigate and give him a good shooting up, and then I boarders her with me crew o cutthroats and brigands, while me fellow captains rake her with the Grapes of Wrath! We capture the frigate and send her to port, where i strips her and sells her off. Then I get a trade join with me mates, and divvy up the prize money, givvin them their fare share. Yarrr. [_]P
  21. A good seaman can judge the state of a vessel by her looks. The bar represents this.
  22. Captains of the Black Flag now be twenty-seven strong! I be very pleased at the cooperation and good spirits shown by our members. Tis truly entertaining, and profitable, to bee sailing with such fine pyrites!
