  1. Number 9: http://www.naftotopos.gr/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=263:tserniki-06&catid=128:wsm-tserniki&Itemid=550〈=el Well that basically explains everyting!Much obliged.
  2. The design in general is way older than the date on the plan.It actually can be traced back to the byzantine times. Some more pictures: Here is one with the Greek-Ottoman flag And here is a picture with sail plans used on traditional ships. If you recognise any and know the english naming please share it because i only know the names in greek.
  3. The best source that i can think of is the Hellenic Maritime Museum where i got the plans for the corvette which was a bit of a pain since the musuem is located in Athens and lets say that its not that easy for me to visit them every now and then. The second option is the Hellenic Navy's History Department which is also located in Athens.Anyway i ll do my best to try and find any other sources
  4. Well to be honest you probably wont see any plans of Greek ships in the future. Thats because most of the ships in Greece were made by experience and not plans which is unfortunate.I can post more pictures of several of them though Here are some pictures: If you think that they can be added in the game please do tell me so so i can post them in the suggestions thread or feel free to do it yourself
  5. Quick someone summon one Unfortunately i dont have any plans of her. However there is a book that might contain several generic plans of ships of that type and many more. The bad thing is that its in italian! But anyway this is the book. http://www.amazon.it/Vele-italiane-della-costa-occidentale/dp/8820348330 Yeap that the name Cheers mate Apparently there is a portion of it online and has a brig goelette in page 72 https://books.google.gr/books?id=ylA0rrh4xGUC&pg=PA73&hl=el&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=2#v=onepage&q&f=false
  6. I think a picture will help you more The greek naming for this kind of ship is ΓΟΛΕΤΟΜΠΡΙΚΟ or ΜΠΡΙΚΟΓΟΛΕΤΑ or ΒΡΙΚΟΓΟΛΕΤΑ if you want to google it.As i said earlier it literally means brig and schooner together. The design is italian.
  7. Just a random question here, would you feel that brigs, brigantines,or ships that are a mixture of a brig and a schooner(dont really know the english translation for this type of ship) are worth posting in the suggestions thread?
  8. 14 gun polacca San Jose/HMS Calpe Sources: http://threedecks.org/index.php?display_type=show_ship&id=3470 http://threedecks.org/index.php?display_type=show_ship&id=13745 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Calpe_(1800) polacca model: http://www.greekshipmodels.com/default.aspx?pageid=169 I couldn't find any pictures of the specific ship so i am going to post some that are similar Pictures:
  9. First one is called Mistiko(Secret in Greek) because it was mostly used for raids, piracy, landings and carrying messages. They weighed around 20-30 tons and they were about 14 meters long. The armament varied:4 small cannons(im guessing 6 pounders)+ 2 small bow cannons or instead 2 swivel guns at the bow. Images: I have more but i need to translate them a bit and do some research first.I will keep posting them from time to time.
  10. There are a couple of smaller armed ships in the website that i used as a source for my previous posts if you are interested. The problem is that there is almost no chance of finding any plans for them because most of them were made by memorizing the lines and the specialties of each ship, especially in Greece.Although the models are pretty accurately made based on books.Let me know if you want me to post them. They are mainly medditerenean styled.
  11. If the devs believe that it is really out the time frame or it wont serve any purpose of implementing it in to the game then they can remove it and i wont object.I just suggested her for the reasons that i believe but it if the devs dont agree im fine with it.If they do add it in the poll though you can simply not vote for it so it wont make it into the game which im also fine with.
  12. Yes Loudovikos is out of the time frame by a fair bit but the museum employee that i asked said that even if it was built fairly late, the design that was made by a designer named Tompazis,is based on older (french?) corvette designs so for its time it was a bit outdated.I only suggested the ship to possibly fill some gaps that there might be between SOLs and smaller ships plus to add some variety to the nation ships that appear in to the game. Then again if it is that big of a problem i wouldnt object on removing it but it seems that the staff hasnt removed it for a reason maybe?I dont know. On the other hand the problem with the frigate Hellas is that there are no ship plans of the ship in Greece. But the plans for her sister ship the USS Hudson/Liberator which was also built for the Greek goverment might exist in the USA.I tried to contact with the national archives but i received no response which led me to ask for help in the respective thread in the forums but nobody responded.
  13. Show Greece some love Greek-30 gun Corvette (Louis) Info Page: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/7011-greek-corvette-loudovikoslouis/ Or the frigate Hellas but i couldnt find any plans of her but she is the sister ship of USS Hudson. Info page: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/4571-hellasgreek-frigate-1826/
  14. Unfortunately yes,she was launched kinda late but as I said in a previous post the design is not that modern at all.The museum researcher that I asked about the plans said the same thing.Especially if you consider that sail ships were starting to get replaced by steam ships. Also I think that we don't have many corvette plans kicking around so just give her a chance D: Getting the plans for her was really hard
  15. Yes it is but not by that much and i think that the design is not that modern for the time it was launched.
  16. Loudovikos was a corvette of the Hellenic Navy built in 1838 at the Poros Naval Shipyard, designed by naval architect Georgios Tombazis. It was a relatively large ship (length 44.1 m, 1000-ton displacement), was armed with two 22-lb plus four 20-lb long guns, and twenty-four 32-lb carronades, and had a crew of 182. The ship was not operationally utilized, and since 1846 it was used as a training ship (renamed Messolongion in 1862). It officially remained in service with the Hellenic Navy until 1873. Lenght:44.1 meters Width:11.7 meters Draft:4.5 meters Tonnage:1016 tons Crew: 182 Armamament: 2 x 22 pounder guns 4 x 20 pounder long guns 24 x 32 pounder carronades I know its a bit off the cut off period but not by that much. More images, model and info at(in Greek):http://www.greekshipmodels.com/default.aspx?pageid=170 Ship plans: The pictures of the ship's plans where taken from the Hellenic Maritime Museum where they are exhibited.
  17. Waiting for more info from the Greek Navy's Department of history If I don't find any ship plans about this one I have an entirely Greek-built corvette that I will propose and chances of finding ship plans for this are higher.
  18. I asked about the paint scheme where the scale model is exhibited and they said that the color scheme was by 90% black/white.They can't be sure because there weren't many sources back then, especially during a revolution.
  19. More pictures: This one is actually from the Greek Nautical Museum And the Hudson, her sister ship:
  20. As i stated above,no i couldnt find any on the internet.I can contact the Greek Nautical Museum but i dont think that the plans are going to be there.I will try anyway. I guess our best chance is that somebody from the USA contact a museum or something and search for the plans of the USS Hudson because she is her sister ship. The Hudson was built for the Greek government but she was claimed by the USA when the Greeks were unable to pay for her.
