Our main focus is PvP and Global Conquest(capturing ports/port battles). We want this guild to be small (about 50 members max) but elite that will fight to the death if need be. Since it is anachronistic to the period of the game, your deliberate use of it here paints you as either entirely ignorant of the cause it represented or immaturely attempting to co-opt it to vaguely mean "rebel." The Confederate States of America was not the same political entity as the America under the Articles of Confederation. (Almost 100 years separate the two.) (Almost 100 years separate the two.) this is a guild just using the name/flag of confederacy because we like the name/flag of it we are not trying to offend anyone so we sorry if it offends and we never claimed to be acticles of confederation we are the C.S.A and we are rebels hint its a pirate and us guild but this page is for recruitment so unless you want to join or have legit questions on what we do or how we can help you when joining then dont post here. There are a myriad of other guild names that could have been chosen. While I do not believe that Wolf and his crew set out to intentionally rub folks the wrong way, that doesn't make it right or ok. I understand and appreciate the current political debate about the flag, however the original quoted post implied that it WAS based on Immaturity or ignorance. A rather harsh judgement on the OP. Despite the heated debate in the states, outside of the states the flag represents a number of things, both positive and negative. However I do agree the flag is not of the period and should be reconsidered on that grounds, personal attacks on a posters integrity is not needed. That flag can mean what ever they want it to mean to them and peolpe's biases against it be damned. Most people don't know how to have an honest debate about it anyway so how about we avoid it all together. The name Confederacy makes a lot of sense for them. "Confederacy" basically means a group of loosely bound states. We have to stretch this definition a little but with their identity as pirates with a loose connection with the US nation than "Confederacy" makes some sense. Ill give you a channel in the US nation's TS but only if you roll US. There is no place for US friendly pirates atm. We will see how the game develops. If you want to somehow portray a government in rebellion against the United States, it doesn't make sense to be fighting alongside the United States. It would make far, far more sense to represent the Articles of Confederation, which just represents a slightly earlier time period.
