Are NPC's Still Capturable

I boarded 2 NPC traders today and thought I captured them. On the second one a Trader Snow, I even put minimal crew on it and upon closing found I didn't have the ship in my fleet. I did have the open & empty fleet spot for it. Are NPCs still capturable?

They were capturable about 6 hours ago.

Choices are either a bug, operator error, or more likley the "prize" was so badly damaged it sunk before you were able to escape. Or another possible scenario: are you sure there were no live enemy AI or enemy players in the battle when you escaped? If there was, and you escaped before your prize, you'd lose it.

Did u click "Confirm" after u set men on it? I've often forgotten it in the past...

If you have successfully transfered the men and captured the enemy ship, it turns its white flag into your nations flag. Then the capture has been completed and you can command it like every other fleet ship.

Vizzini, he did state that he had a fleet spot open so yes. 

One way to verify is after capturing a ship, hit TAB and verify that it is listed as captured.

Even if the battle is over I make the habit of retreating my fleet ships just to make sure.
