Impossible escape, Probable exploit

Recommended Posts

Here be a picture of a player in a trade brig, Midshipman Vasco De Gamma, escaping from the battle when the fight is less than 15 seconds old!

Note well... this is not time from last damage taken, it clearly says "Battle TImer" which only happens at the start of the match. He escaped as i was closin in to board and it took me a few seconds to grab this screen shot, so he escaped at the start, that much is clear.

Please investigate this...

Thank ye.

yes but what ArchAngel is saying is that no matter the BR difference traders should be stuck in the battle, at least allowing the guy who initiated to have a chance at speed capping the trader. Obviously i don't mean remove there ability to escape just the BR escape ability

And I don't mean it sickens me to be rhetorical… The event was a turn-off for me. I fully planed on lightning capping that trader, then out-waiting the 2 3rd rates.  <_<

Your plan to abuse the battle end mechanic sickens me.

Don't tag people when they're protected by half a fleet...

Realistically those SoLs wouldn't have let you escape with the prize.

He wasn't, they joined as the battle timer began. and having patience is not an abuse of a mechanic.

Time and time again we spot lone trader players who are stupid complacent enough to sail their valuable goods without taking player escort/s.  So much talk on forums about how pirates should be in smaller ships hunting traders and not capturing ports yet this mechanic & insta pop AI reinforcements counters what we in [black] try to do.  In small fast ships, solo or in 2, 3 man groups, we take risks most nights in enemy waters being hunted by larger organised and opportunistic captains so this mechanic is frustrating to say the least. Risk vs reward and all that jazz.

I agree, BR rating (as well as insta pop AI reinforcements) should be removed for trade ships.

Now I hear what ye be saying, we just want easy targets with no risk. That not be true. There's plenty player pirate hunter fleets around, and trader players are perfectly capable of hiring player escorts.  I know we in [black] always escort our traders carrying the shiny stuff.

So now it seems traders can exploit the mechanics by sailing their most valuable goods in trade cutters, knowing pirates will unlikely sail anything smaller than a privateer in enemy waters, and knowing they can never be caught. *spit* *ting* #godmode

Don't know if it makes you feel better Pete but Admin said they will make that help will be able to join only to match BR difference.

So if you tag trader in privater that leaves what? 30 BR difference roughly? One pickle will be able to join to traders aid.

That was in Russian forums.

This happened to me the other day when a single British player in a 3rd rate engaged me outside of Sant Iago I was able to leave immediately it was a one versus like ten when it started and we were all able to leave immediately. At first I was like what the? Then someone on my stream made a comment, turned out to be a British player as well and he made it known to me that due to the BR difference we were able to leave like that.
