  1. Also Remove both conquest marks and labour hour contracts. The former has created all sorts of perverse game behaviours and limits the game play for those without conquest marks The later allows a single crafter to build any number of ships instantly assuming they have the materials. Much better the reward all those with high crafting levels with a more signicant role than they now have. Both resources and hours would then limit production.
  2. My priorities: Fix invisibility attack problem at same time as fixing the revenge fleet of doom - its symetrical Give screeners and PB fleets chances through the tag system multople tags or reasonable BR diffetrential to tag a PB fleet - possible use of grouping for BR Fix TP to port so cant TP to PB using a 30 mins timer same as logging out.
  3. The revenge fleet is clearly a problem for pirates or raiders, but so is the invisibility gank - a symmetrical solution would therefor be best. I am tired of the number of traitors sailing in cutters spotting for invisible gank squads or undertaking other nefarious activity. Hang the traitors!
  4. This did not work until recently as you could not flip between 22:and 23:59 until they "fixed it" and created the new bug - we lost hostility as it did not work properly limiting the window to just 3 hours.
  5. If you have a limited port battle window its almost inevitable they are often at the same time. I agreed with Grungemunkey that Spain can choose a port to defend and we won't attack - randoms excepted
  6. I like Grungemonkeys proposal and endorse it
  7. Having failed to get port battles after 20:00 previous and had the grind pretty much wasted this is not what we expected. We lost the coordination the new bug has created. You have to laugh though. Our esteemed enemy may wish to consider not ganking outside Belize throughout the night, during the hours its players are supposed to tucked up in bed.
  8. Clearly seal clubbing a nation with no ships is in the best interests of the server population.
  9. Good to know one of the very few GB Aggy's may have been saved by the glitch! Like most others I seem to have departed to Santo Tome - "sans cannons" - must be a French port these days.
  10. Balance and fair play Honour had some meaning in the age of sail and Captains should be expected demonstrate this in there treatment of other players - there are good examples in game but not enough. Not exhaustive but I would hope there was agreement for some or all of the general principles: Every player should have the opportunity to enjoy all aspects of the game without necessarily being in a clan - why should they pay for content they don't get unless they choose not to - no conquest marks = no ships a player might reasonably expect to be able to acquire over time. Every nation needs somewhere players can learn and progress without being subject to continuous ganks using OP game mechanics such as Cutter fire bombing. Defending this earns nothing and attacking costs nothing. Morally its pretty objectionable to suicide an entire crew time after time. Maybe the fire bombers don't care but some of us live in a world where it appears strange that a game mechanic rewards suicide bombing in an era in which it did not happen and is now a part of life in many countries. Every nation should expect a reasonable resources deal without having to employ alts or sail the entire map just to get almost anything useful at all - we can't even smuggle effectively without being able to place buy contracts. Every player should expect clear exploits and cheating to be dealt with in the harshest way. Players earning conquest marks in multiple nations, which is now suspected, should fall into this category. Using alts to grind hostility to create uncontested or meaningless one sided port battles for the conquest marks falls into the category of being a clear exploit. Grinding hostility gives zero PvP and grinding simply to flip ports is a poor mechanic without meaningful action creates no fun. If a player wishes to live stream they should be a legitimate target for summary justice by the nation subjected to the espionage this represents. Remove labour hour contracts - a single shipyard can turn out every ship requiring a permit almost instantly and they are turning the conquest marks into nuclear bombs at this point in the game. Put the "action" back into the naval inaction game we currently have. So far we have seen one proper port battle, a fake one and the rest; uncontested or so unbalanced as to be a waste of time. We need better mechanisms to enable fleet actions at sea and not just in ports. No doubt there are others. I like many others love the game and have played more it than any other. I like much of the new content which provides many more choices but the basics need to work.
  11. The cutters in the picture posted by Chilly are clearly not the battle I witnessed as the victim was an Infef, I also witnessed no fire from the forts and the location was different to Chill's post. So the players concerned are repeatedly doing this, as they admit, are identified doing so, but state they know it should be fixed - not in the spirit of the game at the very best interpretation. The devs will no doubt fix it but its not reasonable to carry on doing it until they do. Some clarification would helpful BUT we can't expect that every exploitative game play is fixed immediately, so you have an obligation to the rest us us not to do this.
  12. Responding to akd - does this mean they also capped the ship and got the pvp marks?
  13. I gather you got the pvp marks from this - if that the case sailing a basic cutter should not earn any
  14. It would be worth knowing whether the cutters had to friendly fire to achieve the impact so fast given that its testing.
  15. Its not;'testing' if you know its OP and have done it before and have reported it - the 'defence' to the mod cheat was the same.
  16. This is griefing at best and if they shot at each other which I believe they probably did - its an exploit - certainly the mechanic should not make it possible the set the fires so quickly or cause the the amount of damage involved as they will repeat this over and over.
  17. I have the screen shot of the cutter involved - I joined about 2 minutes after the start and all the cutters were on fire rather quickly.
  18. I don't think it matters how nations can get hold of key resources only that its possible and not overly onerous. What is clear is that some regional builds have greater utility than others in particular circumstances, as does the type of wood. Port battles are dominated by live oak and strong hull. In the OW frigates tend to be more speed orientated - cedar and mahogany with differing regional builds - crafted traders generally made for speed. I like the regional build system and there will always be optimal choices for particular tasks. The idea we can move the materials for regional builds to any port where we craft makes a lot of sense. Obviously we need to get the resources to build and the difficulty should incentivise controlling the ports with them, so we fight over strategic resources, but not exclude a nation from building any bespoke ships at all.
  19. Devs - please stick to your long stated commitment on XP for rank and crafting. Whilst the grind is much better now - I don't want to do it yet again. The server issue only arises because many people currently on PVP EU 1, who have mostly been there since the start are being told to choose between EU port battle windows or global and have to sync in order to move. I assume we all get the same crafting blueprints regardless but clarification would be welcome.
  20. Waiting nearly a month now will be very bad - needs to happen asap - need answers to these qusetions: Will blue prints survive? Will map be reset?
  21. miss the weekly rent payment and you lose it according to previous admin post.
  22. Thanks for clarification - I still think crafters should be rewarded for their profession and traders/commerce raiders etc the same and that PBs are just one play style, even for PVP combat orientated captains - screening action is not rewarded for example.
  23. So far the admin has stated that: Governor/Protector will allocate land for buildings arising from winning a PB and that everyone in PB will get rewarded for winning, which is a little contradictory. What is clear is that controlling resources will be in the gift of players who attend PBs only and no other play style has a role. This makes Sea Trials look positively diverse - lots of PVP and everyone has a chance to play - what was the point of 18 months of open world which limits everything to PBs - blue prints/buiildings etc etc - its a rather small sand pit.
  24. I don't care about the wipe - I don't want to lose content - limiting crafting to building identical ships without any choice of characteristics and not building modules reduces content. Is this really the best way to go and is this what "improved" crafting looks like?
