  1. In the second part here you talk about how every new feature introduced has a massive ripple effect and that features are interdependent. But in the first part you seem to want older parts settled before newer parts are introduced - two mutually exclusive engineering concepts Take cars - sure you test the tires first to make sure they will hold up to the speeds you expect your car design to achieve - but, you really need some kind of tires in place to test the suspension on the track even at low speeds - then you might also find you need better brakes. You can really only test some things with the completed car - a pile of parts won't cut it. We really need to start seeing all the parts of the game in the form of a completed game even if some of the parts don't fit perfectly - then the finer adjustments can begin. ----- I am looking forward with great anticipation to this "part" of the game coming out for it's close up
  2. Hope we can eliminate "pirates as a nation" soon - before the game is ruined.

  3. Wow, a lot of visitors today, I'm honored.

  4. I think your mates were not drawn in to the battle you created because even though they had exited the port before you did - they were still in their 2 min "can't join battles" lock down, thus they couldn't be pulled into your battle automatically. Then the vector you used where you were close to the port and the ship you tagged directly away from the port in relation to you caused the game to draw the join circles as it did. ----- I feel your pain at losing a ship to a new mechanic, but I am confident you will capture a replacement in short order.
  5. Yes, me too I want tanks! I agree circle being on land is a problem = not sure its a bug, it may be as intended. --- Just as cannonballs bouncing is a problem = not a bug.
  6. Prolly more needed in a clan of pirates - just sayin .... ----- What I really want to see is a clan dock - perhaps only 5 or 10 ship spaces. Players can "donate" unwanted ships and officers can take out and give to other players = proto recycling
  7. Those legs sir, they are actually Hugo's - three guess's where Hugo's hands and mouth are .......
  8. I have thought long and hard about what core values separate your clan from mine. First: I would never call a [sORRY] member a "silly-assed troll". Second: In my clan we have a motto we "try" to uphold -- "Humble in defeat, gracious in victory" -- simply put my clan would think it ludicrus to defeat a Captain, Clan, or even Nation and then require them to "submit" to our clan leader. We would simply type gg and suggest we play again at their convenience. I agree not all players in NA see things as my clan does and I've tried to point out the positives about [sORRY] - it is a good place for those who DO like to make a defeated player, clan, or nation "submit". I think on that we can agree.
  9. I think the [sORRY] clan sometimes gets a bad rap. I applaud their interest in the game and the demands they put on each other to be the best. Everybody wants to be the best they can be at something, or even many things. When I studied in business school I made the effort to excel, and even studying Taekwando I was very interested in mastering the art and being the best I could be. This game will attract all sorts of people and they will have all sorts of play styles, some will go to great lengths to make others fully understand the reasons for their defeat. I think the [sORRY] clan is a perfect landing spot for the type of player who takes great pride in winning and then keeping the defeated players down and making them submit. ---- And now a word about mastering ones emotions
  10. Clausewitz's opinion has war coming AFTER politics hence the use of the word "continuation". Since in Naval Action we already have war - it would seem getting involved heavily into politics would be a step backwards....at least as far as "action" is concerned.
  11. I signed up to play Naval Action - not Political Action - if I want soap opera I simply need to turn on CBS in the afternoon.
  12. I like the idea of being able to see what ships are involved. Well done fight you guys, if I ever decide to fly the black flag I think I will be looking you up. Is there a youtube of the battle?
  13. Hey RockNRoll is that your mutt? - soooooo cute, I love it! Too bad you guys never cross paths with the #1 PvP team in NA - [RUS] they would (might) cook your goose with their 25 Santi fleet just as they cooked ours. I would pay to see that epic fight!
  14. I have many alts at my "disposal" Sir, and quite frankly they don't have the time or inclination to bother with sabotaging you in such a way. I will bet you dollars to donuts that this was a newer player of your nation and that now he will likely never ever join with you again after such treatment as he received. You will find it hard to proceed if you over value your pixels too much - relax have fun ----- Anolytic, thanks for the pro tip about Vieques
  15. so - 1. Attacker declares intent to attack port = all time windows available 2 defender gets "turn" - removes to them least desirable window. 3. attacker gets "turn" - removes to them least desirable window left. 4. Turn defender - removes to them least desirable window left. 5. Turn attacker - removes to them least desirable window left. 6. Turn defender - removes to them least desirable window left. 7. Turn attacker - removes to them least desirable window left. 8. Only one window left - that is when attack is scheduled to happen. Yes? I like it. I would add = all turns happen in first 24 hrs after attack announcement. Any member of the parliament can take a turn for their country, but it is recorded "who" selected a particular time. If a country fails to take a turn in time - RNGeesus takes their turn?
  16. Are the mechanics worked out for this? Is it simply "he who does the most damage" in the port battle?
  17. So if you get tagged - plant it. Good got it
  18. Glad we are clear on exactly who won WWII and who surrendered. Please don't spam the thread with several posts in a row - just use edit to add additional thoughts you have.
  19. I'll bet IIBuxy is not real impressed with the anti ganking measures here.
  20. I really like the idea of a 2x larger tag circle combined with a 30 second join timer -- COMBINED with all non tagged human sailors in the tag circle having an "opt out" option, NPC's would always be included. While in operation it could be simple and clean, it might require some programmatic magic by the devs. It might require everyone in a tag circle being able to see it - combined with a pop up "join Surprise v. 3rd" or "decline" with an auto decline after 30 seconds.
  21. Filoot - I am glad you appreciate your victories, and I am glad you are there for us as (semi) worthy adversaries. I'm sure we will see each other many times as this game drags on and on and on ..... Think about this: We are just one clan, yet we are quite willing to take on all of your clans at one time. Sure we had a setback, but we do learn.
