  1. I dont get the whole push to do the stupid exams. One will learn a lot more by literally just basic cuttering around the map for 50 hours....
  2. too large based on what data? comparing it to the tsnow is just absurd as that isnt a cargo carrier any player would even consider; its more useless than an lgv.
  3. Why would you want to reduce the hold of the tbrig? That has nothing to do with the LGV so what is your reasoning? Breaking the tbrig wont fix the lgv. Sigh...
  4. I would buy a custom paintjob for a ship (not a single application tho) for 50mil reals any day. Anything that allows players to add a custom touch to their ships and other game elements is a good thing. Whether its worth it or not, is irrelevant. Those options being available can only be of benefit. And speaking of that, when is the leopard getting added to the painter dlc? Its so ugly in default
  5. But imagine if clans from different nations can be "friendly" And imagine if clans from the same nation can be "enemies" (like original pirates) I am not sure if it is a good idea but the whole mentality of must attack anything that isnt your nation and cant touch those within it that really deserve is a bit... opaque.
  6. Let's say you bash AI and random players (that you deem are safe to take) to unlock skill slots. Done and done. How does any of that translate to you understanding the dynamics of the actual battle? Especially coming from GB which are known to have their very awesome lines where they yell at anyone who is not matching speed or direction perfectly. A highly skilled player will do his thing and generally scoff at your methods, as he is skilled and has his own ways to do things. Thats why if you want to train people to act as a unit, you need to start them fresh. If you encourage somebody to do things their way for so long, they will entrench their own habits that you will never be able to change. After you clash, that person will just stop showing to your battles, which is endemic in the game for just about any nation. Less so in the big ones because they just have more people in general.
  7. But according to him that still isn't enough. Thing is, dynamics of 1v1 and groupVgroup are very different. nobody is going to let you stern rake a santisima with a trinc in a port battle engagement for 40 minutes or however long it takes I will have to side with BR limits are too low on many places. Somebody said that this forces people to bring their best and only their best and makes every ship count way too much in a battle. This does shut off other people. I have heard many times callers swapping people out based not even on personal skill but on how many book slots they have unlocked on a particular ship... not even asking what the slots are filled with beforehand
  8. Other games get around that by basically making smaller ships/units/vehicles have the same guns as the big boys. Imagine a 5th rate with 68pd longs or something to that effect. Is this what you are hinting at?
  9. The switch to 3rd was marvelous move for only one reason. So many people thought the ship is an actual 3rd rate and went and fought the big boys with it. They all got capped because they have less crew than a rattsvan! Or simply got destroyed. This increased the rarity and keeps them rare. Somebody mentioned that the only logical in game context reason for them to be moved back to 4th is because of mission requirements as they are now excluded from a lot of things. I think this is a reasonable justification. Perhaps as more 3rd rates come in down the line, they will take them back to 4th The cons/uss can be put into rate 1 but it will still essentially be good for one thing, and that is a 14.5+kn build to bully the other frigates, especially in groups. Therefore getting hung up what rate it is classified as is immaterial. Unless the stats change, it is just a play of words and it will not affect its gameplay. In reality, a good player in a good trinc can outplay it without much difficulty. The const has a very cowardly playstyle, despite her real life history, it demands very cautious in game play. Speaking of real life , it is dear to many people as it is still part of an actual navy and one can go touch it in boston. For that alone it will always be a desired item even if it is not able to compete with wasas bellonas and what not. Not to mention, it just looks totally amazing. I am perfectly ok with it not being able to take on wasas. Sometimes you just want a ship because it is pretty. And frigates are pretty! Ships of the line, not really. They look like barns with cannons
  10. Why not put in some dutch trading ships, of which they had plenty... the generic indiaman is like so... generic!
