What kind of dogs would my followers be?

Pit Bulls?  Ferocious and bite hard. I kinda like that.

    Labs?  Loyal, stupid and lovable.

I could see amplify as one of those wiener dogs honestly

I do not think there are any vicious dogs in VCO. VCO always followed larger dogs, on their own they are a group of scavengers who run if they see a threat or don't come out to fight because they are afraid to show up dead on screenshots and if they do barking doesn't stop for weeks.

Content like what? Quests? Sail there get something and drop it of somewhere else? Find treasures? That would be fun for some for 2-3 hours.

Ideas are here, but we do not have time for them at this point. Dev schedule is set and is very clear.

If anyone changes nations more than we do it’s Sam. Lol. Not much of a leg to stand on here bud.

Wind never actually did anything for or with us other than lose ships to AI and beg for replacements.  He’d check in on discord occasionally then we’d see him 2 months later.  He’s just upset we left him and that we didn’t like most of his moronic suggestions over the past few weeks.

    No big loss.

This pitter patter back and forth grows tiresome.  Back to the contest.  We crafted a gold t/wo indef last night that will be given to the most scalps collected internally within VCO by Monday.  Get hunting boys.

    I want my scalps.

It's your territory you can do or say whatever you want with your dogs, but truth is truth and try to support your words with facts it just looks silly.

To everyone working for Chris , keep s*cking that tiny ding dong.

Sure seems like you’re bitter.  🙂

You do know the DLC papers resets every 30 days right?  I see now why you were given the boot out of the moderators group.  You’re nuts.

Anyway we’ll continue to enjoy the contest. You enjoy doing whatever you do. o7 buddy!

It's ok to feel weakened. Be a good boy and prepare $$$ for your members to follow you. It's also ok to get upset, thing is NA logo, website pics, steam pics and tons of other content in game is from a guy who is Nuts. Remember it every time you open NA web site or press play.

NA is great and no longer requires any help from the outside world. They are doing great on their own because people like you contribute their hard earned money. It's a very important that you keep doing that, so we all can play and enjoy this great product.

I think I will stop here and let you enjoy your Pirate domination.

Dude. People fleet all the time. They still don't come pvp/rvr.

I know, fear is still too high. Travel times are still too long. Not everyone here is like you and priv. Many just want a quick fleet with friends and quick action that is almost impossible in NA. Game will never maintain healthy numbers unless Devs add content for casuals like the guy from the review. He enjoys the company of people , likes to shoot NPCs and get gold. He will one day will go pvp, but not today.

  6. I never cared about VCO, VCO is one of many clans who supply my fleet with ships. I happily watched you hop nations every time you got owned. Your leadership always brings smile on my face. What is next after Pirates? Saved money for another DLC?

P.S. grow up take your crew and go fight back and don't cry like a girl. Oh God they ganked us, do something!... Here is my money punish them! lol,

I’d say admin managed to fleece $300 bucks or more off my ass alone this summer sale.  VCO moving nations will probably keep official games labs Dacia full of gas for a while.

Honestly @admin I think owes me one...

lol, bro you are sycophant. Money gets you nowhere. Talking about salty you got whooped and went to forums to cry about it and pay others to go pvp for you. VCO will never be competitive with such leadership.

  8. 3 hours ago, Christendom said:

Someone's salty we left them in the US.  Sorry bud, but decisions are made by those who show up.

Because it's fun.  We're content creators after all.  Some people get the RP schtick, some don't.  You don't.

Says the guy who logs on once every 6 months, makes 10 forum posts and then bails for 6 more.  Top kek.

Grab your guys, come out and pvp, loose ships thats how content is created, but instead you just pay others or force your clan to hop nations and pay for dlc every 3 months? You lost all your members doing that. From 100 to 6? Content creators lol ... Seriously Grab all your guys and go out pvp , camp ports and fight outnumbered force. Sadly VCO was never a pvp oriented clan imho.

I hold multiple accounts in multiple nations, always did.

We are planning to buff 6th rates to give more alternatives to players (this is long overdue and was planned loooong time ago). It was promised to be delivered last week but got delayed due the fact that we want to finish the economy and upgrade rebalance asap. We tied the cool downs to crafting time.

We would like to remind everyone one thing. A lot of players will still chose imported ships for one and only reason - you don't need to craft them you can have them the way you want right away. If imported Diana frigate has same stats as Essex (exact same stats) - people will choose Diana just because its convenient.

Premium ships (imported ships) is an experiment and we need to run it for longer to understand long term consequences before either abandoning the idea for new imported vessels OR adding new imported ships to the existing line up.

And here comes the question to everyone. Some say here that port battles are full of those ships.
Would you prefer active shallow port battles full of imported ships, which are convenient,  fun and maybe give some advantage in crafting to empty port battles?

Introduce refits and make them somewhat close to Premium ships and stop this agony for good. Refits would be all basic ship models that we have in game(with new paints) with new guns and stats close to Premium content. Refits will be an exchange item (pvp, PB, etc...) and Premium ships will be for $$ (new models)... why it's so difficult?

So, every time you add new ship DLC you also add free refit that would closely match Premium in stats. This way people pay only for ship look and not OP stats.

legit payback + they are pirates anyway. You don't balance BR when you see pirates))) Funny thing is everyone is still afraid to pvp in Naval Action @admin even some vets. I thought it got little better, but I was wrong.

1st group was afraid to fight, so they left to get more and gank with numbers. Typical NA style. Thing is I would do the same to Pirates and would go even numbers vs Nationals. Good pirates usually count as 1:2

  11. Why not build an army and dominate? Instead you guys pay others to have fun... lol?

Naval Action = Pay Others to Win

I remember good old days in potbs, french and brits had 2 op pvp groups. We fought them every night and could not beat them, so we stopped and trained. Researched new styles and tactics. It took us 2 weeks to retrain all out guys and we just smoked them and took server pvp domination in our hands. Here, you get slapped and you go pay others to do the hard work? oh my...

I would like to see some sort of process that guides a player into a nation.  Like a pre-tutorial of sorts.  Player X joins the game ands starts off somewhere on a rookie island somewhere or whatever and then is guided to the nation he wants to join....rather than select them at the character screen.

This how the story line would look like.

  13. 1 hour ago, admin said:

There will be tutorial operation (a set of actions required to unlock all other missions).
One of the steps required to complete the operation will be to join a clan.

Question - is this enough? Join clan and then what? What if clan is not doing any pve activities? Add Daily missions and accomplishments, so everyone can get rewarded.

ex. Clan does not have enough to go pvp let's hit dailys/fleets and help new guys. Fleets must drop something rare, dailys must drop items that people can collect and exchange.

I had people in clan who only looked for pve and light pvp (too new), but no one did any pve activities (there is not much to do) ,so they quit the game.

    Absolutely !

many disfunctional options are... on purpose ;)

Let's assume this scenario. You lure customers into the store by saying there is no product like this anywhere else. They buy your product with a tiny label that says Part 1/4. To make the product run at it's max capacity you need all 4 parts. They are locked in and they payed full price. They wait for another 3 parts and get upset it takes so long to receive them. To make them happier you throw a -50% accessory items only on sale for those who payed. They are (starving) waiting for too long and they start to grab what they can get at this point.

Many will leave and forget about your product, warning others and ruining your reputation. On the other hand you got a % of customers locked in and waiting to get the last 3 parts and you can do anything you want with them.

Does this look like a legit business practice for you?

All am saying is game needs to guide new customers to areas where they will grow and expand game population and not just expect a miracle.

  15. 6 minutes ago, Hethwill said:

    I know. Their choice.

As an analogy, I am at the harsh "newcomer" level in Tarkov. I should quit. It is fairly hard and doesn't hold hands. I die all the time before escaping even winning firefight. No rewards for no escape. Learning curve is fairly steep and the environment merciless. Ganks of groups are unannounced.

I reset my account and back to baby steps following the advice of the vets. I could whine to the devs to make it easier though...

    - best advice from one of the team > find a group. learn while playing. form bonds. do not expect the game to do it for you. hardcore means hardcore. it is a multiplayer game. get social. use the forum, discord, whatever, but do not wait for a hand to come pick you up.

In every store they put bathroom signs to let people know and direct them. You do not say yes we do have bathroom and let them search every door. I agree you can think that way, but it will bring you pennies as income.

This is true. The group play has to be the starting point, with solo being the "hard" choice.

If i'm not mistaken some development at welcome/tutorial level are focused on this. Have to find the devs post on this...

Tutorial is optional, most will skip it and go right into the sailing and this is where you have to present them with group finder, clan finder and other group activities. Tutorial most likely will be abandoned after 1st chapter on basic sailing as it is complex as you progress and will frustrate newcomers.

  17. New Casual player (Steam Review):

---Great game with beautiful graphics and fantastic audio. A lot of fun when you play with friends and form fleets. Probably should wait to buy it on sale like I did but it is a great game. The game can be harsh for new players but you can recover from that, especially if you group up with other players.

I posted many times that Fleets should be the first thing in the game where new guys learn to fight and find friends. Group finder was another suggestion that I proposed a long time ago. More loot variety to keep new guys interested and let them feel rewarded. This is just one of many reviews that show group and fleets are keeping players happy, so expand content in this area. I hope you listen now.

P.S. I played many mmo games where you open chat and see LFG Dungeon, FLG Fleets etc... in NA this is not existent. Think about it.

    Good luck.

The changes Seppings made to ships are generally hideous, the move to iron frames including the iron diagonals mixed with the changes to sterns are the beginning of the end to the age of sail. It does mean that the enclosing of the stern made significant steps to make a weak part of the ship much more protective and in a lot of ways built more like the fairly sturdy bow but its such an ugly system that is the first step towards iron warships. Its kind of interesting British history chooses to mainly forget Seppings, while remembering Slade so fondly, Seppings had a much larger impact, but Slade's iconography wins out mainly because it goes in hand with Trafalgar, having designed Victory and nine of the other ships in the Battle.

Here are some examples of Seppings Sterns:

If you want to see the most striking modern example of seppings and his work on stern features you can clearly see the difference between HMS Trincomalee and HMS Unicorn which you see the modification being applied to the Leda class frigates which stretched over this period, Trincomalee being the earlier of the two, Unicorn being built after the new stern models were in use, I will leave a second spoiler with these pictures in showing the differences:

Not even close, this BP shows old fashioned stern.

This model has old fashioned stern, no idea why all the cry...whatever happened to this hull in later years I do not care. I am only concerned about ship on BP.

God, that thing is ugly...and the circular stern for the later ships prolly made things even worse :P

The only ones who managed to pull off a good looking true double-banked were the French, imo.

Edit: Just noticed, why is the Java in the SoL subforum? ^^

Technically it is SoL, it's heavy enough to sail next to thicker hulls.

From what I can find about him, my guess would be no, it is not a ship of his design, rather it is a plan drawn up of an existing Portuguese ship of the line at his insistence.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ships_of_the_Portuguese_Navy#1807_Fleet indicates (with a noted source):

These ships, in general, were said to be in good repair; and as to construction, equal, if not superior to the British.

So a further guess would be that he had orders to draw up plans of existing Portuguese warships to take back to the Admiralty to be studied.  With the level of good relations between the Portuguese monarchy and that of the British, I would assume he had little difficulty in executing this.

    Prime research work. Thank you.
