  1. Hello please tell me how can I help you to fix the French language 😮
  2. I would love to see the addition or not of the range finders & radars... You could even have some towers that are not designed to support the rangefinders or radars and you'd have to add it on an additional structure or change the for or aft tower to allow the addition of these equipments Also have the possibility to have some of the turrets equipped with the secondary rangefinders incorporated (the ears rangefinders you see) like a choice you have in the turrets like the number of barrels. Having those ears rangefinders would have more weight but lessen the accuracy malus of having the main rangefinders destroyed with the towers. And you could use to have only some of the turrets having them or all of them... I Think with the arrival of shareable designs this would enhance the possibilities and the fun of ship design sharing!!!
  3. Hello, I would like to know if there is more catastrophic damages planned like some big torpedoes blowing the whole front of the ship while not being enough to sink it or the catastrophic ammo strorage explosion like what HMS Hood suffered? The most catastrophic element especially in term of visual is the turret popping party right now which is admittedly quite enjoyable. We see some things like instantaneous sinking for example big BB main shell one shoting DDs but the visual is a bit unimpressive appart from the big visual explosion, you see the ship slowing down and sinking with the model unscathed appart from the damaged "paint", the visualisation of ships being totally pulverised could be really impressive. I feel like a little more damage visuals like bow or stern blown off with the subsequent element no longer being useable, as well as the superstructure being blown on some element reflecting the catastrophic malus we get from the conning tower destroyed... A couple of destroyed turrets looks...
  4. Really a possible compromise that would be realistic and fantastic would be if you could choose what to refit, for example you want to refit to put better machinery or better secondaries but you have also a new main gun version but the new turret for main gun is bigger thus won't fit on the hull, if you had the choice to keep the older turret it would allow for a longer life for some ship design. Or you could have older versions of some guns or towers not design for the hull accessible via another panel with some penalty like weight penalty for the towers as you'd have to reinforce the structure under for example or some cost penalty to maintain the production line of older parts like turrets/cannons/explosives... This could allow more refit/design possibility to share from 1.10 onwards
  5. no the moon changing from full moon to no moon and moonless night should be really dark for exemple in battle
  6. I find it really nice to make a rookie place as they would be able to train themselves and do some nice first PVP experience (maybe have first missions against gunboat instead of cutters and privateer and along coast as a little intel mission like you go to this position to drop or take up some spy and ho here is a gun boat patrolling). What I would really like would be a little part of europe just for rookies it would seem quite natural and then when they will finish their rookie session, they will be sent to the Americas. to begin the fight for the new territories A kind of scripted part would be nice to with nautical and historic language But I understand it may be not for now but much later as the bahamas map is already existing and quite handy at the moment
  7. if it moves to Pirates not being abble to capture harbours and only beaing able to raid, it should be able to participate port battle and so nations would hire pirates to help them in their port battle sometimes But pirates would always be on a 3rd side, that is they can actually attack any ship either the attackers or defenders (why not other pirates as in OW) without having to suffer XP losses and as long as they (either the pirates as a group or each pirate seperatly) don't do a certain amount of damage on defenders (ships or fort) they wont be targeted by AI (fort for now but maybe we can imagine some AI ships as gunships for harbour security) If the defenders looses the battle and pirates are inside, pirates can raid and plunder as a normal raid so sometimes if the odds are equal, attacking side won't want any pirate ship and would like to sik them. And this system could even be added to any sea battle (maybe only PVP) and not having to join a side as a pirate can always change his mind. I think it could add a lot of fun and surprise in the game. I think pirate ship shouldn't be counted on the max amount of ships on each side but have their own ship amount to be able to really disturb the ballance of a battle especially in PB. Thank you fr the reading
  8. I think live oak should be a rare ressource in some harbour in zones between nations so that nations would fight to have access to this special wood and in reality from what I've seen it can make your ship both sturdier and lighter so if you make it quite rare you could have this wood with only benefits and maybe for the future same things for sails or iron... and maybe if there is a wood which is very fast and have the strength of let's say normal oak lat's do the same. Some rare and very special ressources should add a lot more strategy as with the harbour providing a lot of crew and add a lot of interest in suggling in rare goods harbours. Thanks.
  9. will we be able to grab some enemy crewmates as smugglers?
  10. I saw someone talking about crew moral and a big idea popped in my mind maybe you can have a way to change completly the gameplay of pirate faction! For exemple when a regular nation ship's crew have his moral to 0 it start to flee and the captain loose the capacity to stir his ship anymore and it become like an IA fleeing ship. (that is not specially pirate I know ^^) if she succeed to flee, you loose one durability cause your crew mutinied and you lost it with your crew. The ship with it's crew then goes enforce the pirate nation either being available in the nearest pirate harbour or maybe the capitale (it's to be determined if it's a 1 dura or full dura but 1 dura should be good) another idea can be if you don't have enough gold to pay them. the morale should be very well maid for not loosing your ship so easily maybe if you behave very badly in front of favorite odds for example now not pirate ideas just about morale and crew management for not preventing explosion when the captain wants to blow his ship in the middle of enemy fleet you hould be able to make you crew abandon ship like a common crew assignment so you can keep a certain amount of crew to be able to steer your ship in the good place for explosion. the crew either desappear and goes back to your warehouses or it flees towards allies spawn zone and you can ask them to go back to your ship and pick them up, if not they would go back to your warehouses and you'll be short on crew.
  11. I really like your ideas and I think to be especially accurate, in open world, either flag or nation shouldn't be visible to show that at the time you could only see if a captain is on one side or another by getting close to it and exchanging signals: that would be in naval action enter in a "battle" instance which we could change in "coutesy" instance, as often when seeing an unknown ship, captains would exchange signal with codes to check the nation of the oponent. In it you could see the nation and it would kind of show the amount of time it takes sometimes to check for real if a captain is really from your nation. But as the captain or his crew would know a ship as they've seen it so many times, ship you've already seen on an instance can be known from their nation from OW (maybe even the info stay the same if the ship is captured so you have to enter battle with them to know the ship changed hand). And maybe if you can exchange crew, each crew member could have his ship known list and exchange it with his captain at each "owner" change. Maybe with that if crew have degrees (experiencelike), the higher the level is the better they are at recognizing ship. For example we could have a forgetting time for each crew member wich increase qith the degrees or a max amount of known ship. as it is each crewmate wouldn't exchange ship list info with other crew mates as it would decrease the amount of ship known by the whole crew. It would maybe push captain to sell crew with great ship kowledge and buy others with ship knowledge the captains don't have. The captians should have either unlimited ship list or no forgetting time. With it, it may become neccessary to have ship names, as from afar, you can't recognize a captain but you can recognize a ship. So the display when you click on a ship in OW would be the ship name and the captain wich used to sail it last time you entered battle/courtesy instance with the ship (and the nation as you don't always know it from the name of the captain). As at the time, information would pass from captain to captain, like wich ship is from whom, you could enter courtesy instance wich would be just like battle instances but not obliged to have canon balls exchanged and all the friendly ships in the instance will exchange their ship list (nation and captain comanding it) and all ships in the instance will be updated to the ship list of each captain. Also being in a clan will automatically update ship list between clanmates, either instantly or maybe a clan ship list in the clan warehouse would be more historically accurate and immersive. Each time you enter the colonie of the clan warehouse, you update the clan ship list and your personnal ship list (you collect ships info that has been gathered and brought to clan warehouse by clanmates and you update the clan ship list with your informations for other clan mates to collect).
  12. I think it wouldn't help as players like to undo survival as to be able to blow up in front of other ships and not have stupid crewmates extinguish fire and somhow when you know you're doomed and want to throw as much balls as you can you need to put all your crew in cannons and not in survival I suggest maybe to have a survival for ship reparing an a fire crew selector to choose to extinguish fires or not and like this an other one when the crew will be in the game to make the crew abandon ship to save them before the blast thank you
  13. the nation flag wasn't always raised and the less possible as it would display were you come from and if you are an enemy they would even often use flags of other nations to fool other captains so having the flag of yur nation constantly raised on your ship is not historical at all why not it like normal and maybe the more important place to use it with your big ship you couldn't enter harbour and go dock cause the water would be too shallowed near coast and ships would drop anchor a bit far and little boats would go ashore from the big ships but for the rest I totally agree
  14. yes I kept it but if you want a different change than nation --> pirate you have to delete your current character and recreate one presently or do another one in another server but if you want to stay with friends you must stay on the same server are all move.
  15. I like the idea of it but not for the maluses as it will be impossible for newcomers to have xp as I recall being killed and not killing the opponent for my very first missions and if I wouldn't even get gold or xp for my sorrow it would be very frustrating ... it's not only an historic simulation tending to be a research tool on how sailors lived, it's game so everyone should enjoy it so maybe you should have only bonuses like for exemple an xp bonus based on the hull ratio left between you and your ennemies or the damage ratio I don't know. But it need to be tuned and rationalized based on the base hull difference or else you'll get huge xp by sinking a cutter with santi (extreme exemple though) maybe something based on the actual average players result (on that ship against that ship) Btw thank you Brave Dick for making us think on this topic
  16. isn't it already in place (I'm a Pirate and have french(the nation in the game) friends, but maybe because they were friends before I passed Pirate
  17. It should depend for exemple for ingermanland you have 2 chasers in weather deck and also 2 in top deck so for each movement to front deck you should loose 2 guns on each deck and not 4 on weather deck (my opinion)
  18. I see you did a great job up here I'm not good at photoshop... so I'll write it I would like backscreens for every part of the port as proposed earlier, in the home part we should be able to see other ships parked and ships sailing around the harbour in the equipment part let's say we have a view of a dry dock or the admiralty stocks with cannons pack of sails cordages in the missions part we could have a view of the admiralty Office (with different styles for different nations) in the shop part we shall see a long street with different stocks piled and going all over the street in th fleet part it could be a tavern in the ship shop, my idea would be to have either some other part of admiralty office as historically boats were assigned by admiralty, or a kind of shipyard office at least for the pirates (as in the serie sea dogs/pirate of the careabeens ...) in the craft part we should have the shipyard itself and in the conquest part we should have something like a royal court as it was decided in high places or a kind of big meeting room with a big table with an enormous globe of the earth with little flags so here are my ideas hope you'll enjoy it and as much animated as possible! Thanks for the readig
  19. As it is, Pirates won't have the ability to craft 1st and 2nd rates so in order to equalize things Pirates should have better frigates either by enhancing there stats (like the pirate cherubim to be pirate craftable) or by having special pirate ship (for exemple former famous pirate ships?)
  20. Added Ideas by other players: From Hethwill: A successful raid by pirates should blast a city morale ( citizens are simply left to their own designs with the feeling their overlords cannot save them ) and turn it unaligned for a full maintenance cycle [ 1 full day after maintenance the port gets blocked to all actions, no entering the port ], and then returns to nation control as normal. I would say to add to this proposition that with the low "moral" of the city, the timer of the port should be gone as a recently raided port should be taken in an easier way
  21. I really like the possibility of a skill tree for exemple for canons to have recharge rates go down or new type of shooting like at first random shooting then rolling front and back and full border all cannons at the same time, exploring maybe you can see ships before they see you, have a better sight of banks having a better speed ... crafting have a better labor hours rate gain, need less notes to craft better ships (as you already have experience at crafting good ships)... trader could have lower prices with NPC... anyway something that reward you for having played for a bit a "type" it could be implemented in the crew for exemple having basic crew and graduated crew with different diploma (different lvl of diploma) for either sailing shooting or even crafting it can also be attached to officers you could choose from all your crew what type of crew you take aboard for exemple to take the better for important mission but also take the lowest ranked for risky missions with a 1 dura ship or just to upgrade them in case of loosing the best ones. Nothing to do with it but I would like to be able to change the sail/mast dispostition angles, cable disposition... as it is depicted in many of Aubreys books by Patrick O'Brian and it could change top speed, turning speed, and also the speed curve depending on the wind direction or with the update with different wind... it could also give different behaviour in different weather for the same ship Sorry for the long post
  22. and have also ship slot for clan for ships not used anymore by some high ranked guys but that can be usefull for other clanmates without having to be both connected
  23. For me, all the wind aspect is quite thrilling and I'll love it for sure as it would enhance the need for skill and the buty of a good combat and low wind or calm time could be a complete trap for big ships and small ships could have some oar to move quickly in good position (Xebec...) For the chasers I think we should be able to move them to front and back but for exemple any ship should have a different maximum amount of front chasers from 1 for narrow boats like merc or maybe cutter(maybe 0 for this one as it is good for the start to have simple control) to like 4 for the natural chasers or maybe 6 if there is the place and the bridge can withstand it. The choice could be done at beginning of battle for number of chasers with no time laps (maybe before intering the battle as sometimes with a not so fast pc/internet when you actually enter battle it has already begun) or during the battle with time laps
