Have I gotten it wrong? If I sail a tader in to an enemy port, can I not see what rare items that drops there. It is an honnest question? I havent tryed.

I know when they first implemented you could but if I recall they patched it where you could not pretty quickly. Since then I have been told you can only see them if you are same nation as controller.

Yeah I know, just go take the port. Just can’t see the small and weak nations achive that.

I have seen Espana and Prussia push around nations twice their size. It is possible. If you accept defeat before even trying then you will never win. Only nation if you want to call them that I do not see even getting close to getting a decent amount of rare woods is Poland. Everyone else there is opportunity.

Not to mention you state the strong control the goods. What was the difference then from before? The strong always controlled the rare goods. Only reason US got what they needed was alts. At least in this system there is more opportunity for everyone.

  2. @admin I must say that I wholeheartedly enjoy the way you have set up the random wood and resource delivery missions. It surely does give nations a chance to get access to such goods like Cartagena that was monopolized by few individuals before unless there was a random drop or chest. Also giving the port owners control of who has access to these goods is much appreciated. There are only two things I ask for you developers to consider implementing. The first being the pricing and initial amount available. Reducing their current amount and the cost might see the spread of the goods more swiftly than currently. Secondly, make the mission visible to everyone, even outside the nation. That way people have a stronger focus and player created campaign goals by knowing where certain goods are rather than having people use alts to find out.

Edit (reasoning): should add that the reason behind the suggestion is for a few simple facts. First off players without alts are at a major disadvantage. The inability to locate these random wood spawns means they would have to spend their time doing RvR until they land on a port with a wood spawn. There is also a claim that these woods are far too rare which is not true. But these statements might be due to their lack of visibility to everyone. Not to mention reducing the cost and available amount should make it easier for smaller clans and casuals to purchase them from the missions and see the resource deplete and travel more frequently.

In other words, the developers are concentrating more and more power into the hands of a relatively few large clans in each nation and so smaller clans will be thoroughly screwed.

May not be the case but even so smaller clans should always consider merging with other clans. My clan ONION has done that with BORK seeing economic benefits from doing such a thing. We still see ourselves as ONION in some ways but also see ourselves as BORK if that makes sense. We know other clans from the same nation and outside it are also considering to merge with us. There is strength in numbers if all parties find a way to balance control and management where no one party feels suppressed.

Now I ask again - Can any1 really say that the game is not grindy af,

I will say the game is not grindy af. How many of these people making such a claim restarted accounts? I did. I started this game when the xps required was double for ranks. I still recall the ship knowledge tree which was a tiresome affair. Even now earning xp is easy and quick. Having a few people breeze through their slots for their 1st rates in comparison of how long it took me.

    with a simplistic economy,

    Meh. Hard feat.

permitwalls on crafting that has basically destroyed crafting

issue with people bitching about things demanding instant satisfaction or lacking any actual long term data like some of the individuals that were banned. They are changing them now.

and fine woods have basically been reintroduced?

Lol! Not even close. Maybe instead of whining so much these people that claim such a thing should actually go out searching and if need to capturing the ports that have these woods and resources. We did and we are set on all woods unlike before.

I haven't read all reviews but those I've read centered on those issues, moderation, broken promises etc. were only immediately after the banhammerwave.

they need to grow up and move on twisting actions with trigger words like promised. Nothing was promised. Only remarked upon their current plans but plans change due to time. The turbulations of developing taking longer than what originally intended.

  5. Frankly, even though I don't trust Chris's word that it was nor members of VCO or ORCA, I do not see it being those clans that wrote these. At least not all of them so claiming it is "pirates" would be too broad of a claim. Even going and claiming individual clans would be broad as well. Based upon the content here stating what is mentioned in these reviews I am not 100% sure it is Banished either who deserved his banishment more than anyone banned in recent months. Lord Vicious is another name that is worth considering since recently he has reemerged as a very critical voice of the game via external platforms. There is just not enough evidence granted to place it upon one person or a group of individuals. No point on witch hunting. Focus more on removing these negative spam bombs because if anything these reviews hurt the game and does nothing to help it develop in certain direction or continue. Developers would easily just drop the game after release and go onto the next thing if the population goes down too low.

Except the question remains. Can any1 claim that the game being too grindy, too simplistic, too walled in behind permits, too focussed on clans and not enough on casual or individual players, can any1 really state that those reviews (which are the majority of what I've read) is untrue or false? Most reviews doesn't mention moderation, most reviews doesn't even mention the admins broken promise, they mention specific gamemechanics and to reject those reviews as acts or 'addicted children', doesn't that make you commit the very same fault just with an opposing PoV? - Why this need to paint the community in 'Us vs. them'?

You are defending these reviews a bit too hard.

Dont forget we keep atleast our Books, which is absolutely enough for my taste...and those would be also lost if you create a complete new account

Maybe but also remember that before forged papers you kept your ranks when you deleted and recreated a new account if you wanted to switch nations. I don't know the technical stuff behind the games accounts I am just basing these possibilities off of previous experiences.

Then... devs must ban Jack Aubrey too. It was only reaction to his toxic message :)

Honestly, you should not have reacted at all. Not defending Aubrey because I would not doubt there was some sort of antagonizing going on. Let them talk trash and get called out for it if reported. No one made you respond to any sort of antagonizing but you. You made a choice to stoop to their level.

Not sure of we would have to recreate our account, unless the wipe is complete, including XP and knowledges, which are totally lost when an acccount is reset.

I am just recalling from memory of previous big wipes and server merges. They could also create a new steam game in our lists making our current version just a beta.

  10. It seems I might be playing less if these said changes go the way they sound like they will. I craft but this update will make it less rewarding, I like to raid but now there will be a lot less, value of taking multiple ports has decreased so there will be less RvR to participate in. I just do not see myself investing as much time into this game as I do now.

PS: was interrupted before finishing. Basically this means less time I invest then the less money I will invest in the game so no more dlc purchases. I rather place that money towards a game that I will invest more time in. Reason why I bought all of Civ 6, all of the Paradox DLCs for Stellaris, HoI 2-4, Victoria 2, CK2, and EU4, and TW:Warhammer2. I spend time in those games significantly.

  11. Found the cost of permits to be fine and it is very easy to get medals. The ring on permits in rewards if I recall is still very high from chests. Getting doubloons now is a different story with how missions changed rewards to medals.
