Ya was fun fight, battle went to time. We had a lot of first timers up in it, so coordination was spotty.

At least some part of the event will be long...

Course the "reality" is that 1-3rd rates were like unicorns in the Caribbean. If they want reality we would all be in sloops, brigs and the occasional frigate anyway. But that isn't the reality they want... I personal think pirates should be something you earn, not something you click. Join a nation, murder 12 friendly's and you get to be a pirate. Pirates can false flag and dock and sell anywhere at a loss (they are fencing stolen goods) they should also get some bonus to break down ships (extra crap) to offset the price hit they would take to craft. You could maybe spend some stupid money and buy your way back into some nations favor, but it would have to be whatever the under pop (and thus desperate) nation was. Pirates can sail whatever they can steal, if they could gather enough shit to build a first rate, with as much as it would cost them in addition, hey whatever. That said, pirates should raid ports for a cash and commodity payout and not capture or defend shit. Course I also think they should get rid of the NPC's and make people earn the xp from pvp... So I may be cray cray. Just my take on it.

They don't talk to me so I cant say. I heard that they were in bed with em from the get go and that the yanks gave em 1 mil per when they came over to get ships and what not with. Considering the hard on they had for the Brits and desire to ignore everything the Americans did in the Bahamas, despite being about 1/2 the pirate players the first one is pretty believable, particularly in retrospect as they would campaign in chat against fighting up that way.. The second one sounds thin, even thou the guy that told me is solid. I not sure where the Americans would have gotten so much cash that that was a viable thing.

I would rather they just got rid of TP and upped the OW sailing speed to something a little less glacial. I mean what is less realistic? Going x4 on the open sea or casting a spell?

Makes sense on the bounty reward. I have a hard time finding the real loss on death in this game, after Eve and Darkfall most penalties in this game are not even enough to get the heart pumping.

Anyway, its EA, they don't have any counter zerg mechanics right now. I am sure in time they will come up with something (less populations getting more xp or damage or any of the other things they do) that will influence balance. I personally think that they should remove all the NPC's make everyone level up off everyone else and the zerg nations will starve due to consumption, thou I cant imagine that be a popular idea. Course I also came up with to be a pirate you have to start as a national and murder 12 mates to separate the wolves from the sheep. Again, didn't seam real popular among the "Jack Sparrowz" crowd.

This is awesome, just saying. And also, any deal you make with Pirates is going to be with that given clan or alliance. My group (OMG) was at open war with U4V until they up and quit and went and joined yanks. We like fighting everyone, telling any pirates not to attack nationals in a given area just isn't going to work unless they going to sit and protect you while you do whatever. Roberts talks a strong game but we just murderer 5 of his 7 despite them having BR on us, he was last seen being the first to bail on his mates in his barely damaged 3rd rate... Earlier the lads got into a huge fight with the dutch and killed off a 3rd rate, if French had showed up they would have fought them as well I am sure, its just how it is. You Frenches might want to cut a deal with the Brits thou, they out in the eastern Antilles in force and a couple lil birds mentioned they looking to start a rukus. And the nearest port they can use is deep in French land, is all I am saying.

Great idea, but shit to implement in these games. I mean I would counter your bounty with a stolen 3rd or 4th rate and make mad bank with me mates. The only games I have seen this work in were games with heavy death penalties, and as this game doesn't have any.... Ya.
