Yesterday I re- rolled on EU pvp 1 server. Despite being the rank of Post Captain, I find my self penniless and in a basic cutter. I undock from Port Royal and decide I better hunt some contraband merchants to make some coin for a decent ship. Off I sail, and before long I find a smuggler in a trade snow, I am careful not to drag anyone else into battle and when the coast is clear I engage. I am a bit rusty and leave a bit of a chase but i catch up and start chaining the sails. Then the tell tale lag spike tells me I am no longer alone. Another Brit sailing a Brig. I clearly state my intention to capture the trader and I pull along side and start sweeping the decks with grape. The Brig captain does not reply and is firing solid shot from a distance and I think, ok he wants some xp. To my astonishment he catches up to us, cuts across the trader and proceeds to board it from under my nose. I was fuming after all the work I had put in, so I sailed out in a big circle,he was parked across the Snows bow. I came in full speed along side the Snow and rammed the Brig mid ships. I had intended to brake the boarding action but the resault was much more rewarding. My cutter rode up on to the Brigs deck and pushed it downwards I kept pushing him at full speed and he sank within half a minute. Now not only was the Brig sunk his boarding action had reduced the crew on the Trader to a number below my basic cutter so I could continue with my boarding action without the need for further grape shot.

How do you know the difference between a mission and a battle? They both have the same swords.

Its a big no for me. Battle instances represent the immediate area and anyone in that area should be sucked in no ifs or buts. Its not hard to turn your ship around sail out of it. I would really not like to see the mechanic changed just because people want an easy life.

I play for Brittain PVP 3. I think you both have points. Your right no one can speak for the entirety of a faction. You can speak for a majority though. If a majority of active pvp players would like a truce although your perfectly in your right not to adhere to it, why would you not want to go along with it? To prove a point? To be awkward ? Anyway why not discuss it in private chat, does all this dirty laundry need to be hung out in public? The big clans provide the firepower on the world stage and thus more likely to drive the diplomacy. If an individual does not wish to follow a truce or a strategic strategy there is little that can be done. The sheer size of the game and the geographical positions of the teams should not really make this much of s problem though. My opinion.

I have a Spanish charachter on this server. Just let me know who the big English speaking clan is if any, and I will sign up.

I think it's you that doesn't get it. Starter towns cannot be flipped and are backed up by huge NPC reinforcements. Newbies sail cutters that are really not worth the big guys attacking anyway. I rolled a toon on PVP 1 joined the Spanish faction because they are crying even louder than the Dutch. When I logged in all I saw was Spanish mission runners getting on with life no sign of the enemy even though nearby towns are owned by hostiles. People need to up their game get more organised and help themselves rather than expecting divine intervention from the Devs.

Moaning about it on the forums is not doing anyone any good. I'm sure there are ports in Brittish territory they could use. The Dutch should of done a deal with French If they were both facing Sweedish aggression rather than both getting stomped separately. It's a huge world and one Sweedish clan cannot be everywhere at the same time. Let all the softies who can't handle a struggle quit. They are no good for a team anyway. It's when the chips are down you find a hard core. It's this hardcore that can drive a nation on to great things, not all the cry babies.

Does Spain have any English speaking clans on the server? I don't mind taking advantage of the current one charachter per server rule and sign up for Spain on pvp 2 if it will help.

Bristol has to get on that list.

I enjoy reading about all the servers, as long as people name their server in the subject title whats the problem with one forum section?
