How new droping resource system works?

Despe

Question

Hi captains, ;)

My clan have 2 ports, Mimbres and La Desconocida, with trading company level 2, and it did drop no trading resources from at least 3 weeks.

My question is how new droping resource system works?

Thanks for your time and answers ;)

lie. no one, never meet OW npc with 2400 logs in hold.

"deliveres by NPCs" == delivered by hidden notional npc ship.

Those are just words, but yes, now some goods are not delivered ever (hist artifact, black ironwood to lamona for example), rare woods delivered once per 1 days
We are waiting for trade patch

Anyway, here it is

The method how goods are delivered to the Caribbean has changed.

For example we need to deliver 2400 theoretical logs to the Caribbean.
Previously goods were delivered in the amount of 10 logs every hour to 10 ports (each port): 2400 in total
Now goods are delivered by NPCs in holds - so one of those ten ports receives the full load of 2400 logs

so parrot cay and tordo still have a chance to get those goods delivered. But if they are delivered it will full indiaman worth of goods.

No. Only on produced resources from Mines, Farms, Forests, etc.

In this case the mechanic is very incorrectly named. After all it's "trading company level 2" and not "production company level 2". Also it makes it a completely useless mechanic (also known as a fake feature), since our production buildings generate way more resources than we have the labour hours (or need) to collect.

Are you sure about your assertion that the trading company upgrade to ports only increase production in buildings?

At least it used to be that we used to apply this upgrade on ports in order to increase generation of trading goods and of special resources (cartagena tar, copper ingots, etc.) in particular. Not completely sure if it ever worked though.

It says "all" resources. So nothing about this being only from our buildings. And the "production" part is left over language from when trading resources was still produced by a port and not delivered by invisible NPC traders.

Excellent. This is Port management screen right ?

I'll say it is the port production items as in "Produces: ... ... "

Again though, do you know this? Because again, the wording hasn't changed since the patch that changed ports from "producing" trade goods, to being supplied with trade goods. Moreover, provided you are right and they did ninja-nerf the "trading company" option, then that would make it a fake feature.

Btw, to get back to OP's original question, the question of how trading company works is kind of a derailment. As OP is wondering why his ports appear to drop no resources whatsoever. That would have nothing to do with trading company level though, because whatever it does affect, it gives a 50% bonus to drop rate/production, and 50% of nothing is still nothing.

Given a Lgv I attacked had

- 500+ bermuda cedar

- 500+ oak

- 500+ coal

Actually stockpiling two ports with just crafting resources captured from NPC traders. Hemp, Coal, Oak, Iron for repairs and an assortment of Bermuda Cedar, Teak, Lignum. Still mission LO and WO.

Not every trader has that stuff, majority is just trade goods.

The resources that are not products of your building - such as teak, live oak, etc - are delivered live, by ship, the NPC trade ships. Some bring large quantities, others less.

They might reach their destination, or they may not reach their destination because they got attacked.

The production buildings - coal, oak, fir, hemp, etc - still work the same way as before. They produce like 5x more now.

When upgrading building it states the improvement in production of %%. I would assume it is for that specific infrastructure.

Delivery of resources, such as those we cannot produced are under the posted rules above, so yes, not certain if more are delivered or not ( but then the quantities are by contract mostly except backwater ports....)

Okay. It is maybe badly worded. Do you have data that proves it does work for all resources ? Would help the Q&A instead of keeping it going. Thanks a ton.
